I called Joe at PBC Locksmith, and he said he could be there in a half hour! He showed up just on time, was super friendly and really knowledgeable! The deadbolt was completely broken so he took that out and replaced it, and was able to just rekey the bottom lock. He was actually just in my neighborhood looking for a different address, but in the process of helping him find his way, I mentioned how frustrated I was with my brand-new, noisy garage door. I told him I'd been using WD-40 to fix the squeaks, and instead of just nodding and driving off, Joe took the time to educate me. He explained that WD-40 isn't actually the right lubricant for garage doors and can sometimes make things worse. Without hesitation, he: * Went to his truck to grab the proper professional-grade lubricant. * Gave me a hands-on tutorial on exactly where to spray (and where not to). * Told me exactly what to look for at Home Depot so I could maintain it myself. It is so rare to find someone who provides that level of "above and beyond" service to a complete stranger without even charging a fee. Joe is clearly an expert who cares more about helping people and doing the job right than just making a quick buck.
