We had suxh an amazing week at the resort. There are daily parties and events, beautiful beach acess and close proximity to the strip that you always have something to do. The buffet has many options. Chopstick and Hunter are my two fav restaurants. The wings at the sports bar are pretty good for quick bit in between drinking. The oceanfront room is nice and spacious with gorgeous views.

The hotel itself was decent and the staff provided great service throughout my stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. However, the food was disappointing and the cleanliness of the hotel could definitely be improved. Overall, it had potential but fell short in a few important areas.

Spent a week at the resort in March. Nice beach and friendly staff. Food was on the inconsistent side. Great location in the hotel zone. Chose this resort as our first choice was remodeling. Had a group of four couples celebrating birthdays.

Royalton is an all inclusive resort on the Cancun beach, it does a lot of things good but has one big flaw. The good: - Beach is pristine - The restaurants are quite good for an all inclusive. The buffet is one of the best I've been to. - The gym is small but has good quality equipment - coffee/gelato shop is wonderful - the servers in the restaurants were all super friendly and did a great job The not so good: - Elevators are terrible here, not sure what the problem is but they often skip floors or don't come at all. You can expect to wait 5-10 minutes almost every time you need an elevator. - Reservations have to be made through the app (fine, I can understand how it helps them plan for the night) but it only allows up to 4 people per reservation and we had 6. Every night was a hassle with the restaurant scrambling to get our seating correct. For what it's worth, we were sat every time, but it took a little long and I'm sure wasn't fun for the wait staff. - can only make 2 reservations on the app at a time (sucks for planning a 4-5 night stay) The awful: - they literally try to upsell you on everything. Can't sit in half the beach chairs unless you pay for the upgraded package. Can't go to the roof top pool unless you pay. Can't walk through the lobby without being harassed about a tour or whatever. Like dude, I already paid $400 a night to be here, just let me do everything and stop bugging me for more money. Summary: The base level room is good, and you'll enjoy the resort and the food and everything it offers. However you might be annoyed at the constant upselling and restrictions that come along with it. If you pay for the upgraded package, you get more access to the resort (more beach chairs, roof top pool, etc.) but the upselling still continues, nobody is spared from that part.

If I could go 3 1/2 stars instead of 3, I would. Food is good & plentiful. No one got sick. Staff is really nice. Cocktails were tasty. The buffets and reservation only restaurants were good. We enjoyed the room service although the menu is pretty limited. As is the case with most resorts, the price markups on essential items is hefty, so don't forget your sunscreen or other essentials. I paid $30 for a can of sunscreen. Pool area is nice and well maintained. Most of the negative things we encountered had to do with poorly behaved/rude guests. Housekeeping was good. The rooms could use a little TLC/maintenance, but overall, nothing that would make us not want to stay there. The diamond level gets you a few upgrades/amenities, but according to other guests is an unnecessary up-charge with little reward. The vibe was definitely more party than peace & tranquility.

The Royalton chic was a great choice for our vacation in Cancun. The rooms are modern spacious, and the premises pool and restaurants are very well maintained and attractive. The location is right on the tourist strip within a short walking distance from some of the bars in the main Cancun area as well as some shopping The one thing that could be improved is the restaurant reservation system, which seems to always be backed up and it's impossible to make reservations for groups larger than four. We visited as a group of six and every night we had to figure out how to book a table for everyone. It also felt that the premium offering were a little expensive like a rooftop party for $50, considering that it's an all-inclusive. I would expect access to the party without having to pay extra. The breakfast and lunch buffet, were excellent and have the freshest seafood and a lot of fresh food, salads, fruit, and an amazing dessert bar . The music at the pool area can get a little loud, which at times was annoying when trying to relax by the beach I feel like it's a bit over the top and unnecessary since there is no other fool to hang out in peace . Everyone was very nice and attentive and definitely a great choice for a party oriented vacation

I had the best time here Victor and Sandra was my butlers and they did a great job, I had the chefs dinner on the beach with Marly which was awesome, great view of the ocean and very romantic, the hotel is beautiful with lots of activities and the food is good too. I tried chop sticks which is a Asian restaurant the food was great as well as the service. Element gourmet buffet had a great variety of food, I also tried Cloud 9's 6 course dinner with wine which was a great experience. I tried the coffee shop, and this one spot by the pool called munchies which had great drinks and food, I wish I had more time to try other place here but I only stayed for 3 days. I had the presidential suite which was beautiful over all I loved my stay here and will be back

Only okay food for Breakfast here were the omelettes

Place was pretty cool, nice modern design. Clean rooms okay food. The hotel does have many flaws, for once they have diamond members here (people coming to buy timeshares with them or members with timeshares) so they WILL be put way above you and you'll see the difference, specially where you can't make any reservations to any restaurants but they can. Buffet for lunch was very poorly executed, not much to choose from. Aside for the omelettes and the crepes we didn't eat at the buffet. One time I even came to get a crepe and take it to my room, guess what they don't let you leave the buffet area with the food! Ridiculous rule in my option. There is NO ACCESS To any stairs!!! So if you're claustrophobic with the elevators oh well....also the elevators take FOREVER!!! Another problem I had with this resort is the fact that they don't let you open the umbrellas at the beach, so I don't see the point of them if they're not allowed to be open.... Staff was just okay, not your typical friendly staff as we've encountered at different resorts. Sometimes we would have to wait even a couple of hours before a server would came to check on us on the beach loungers. Not sure I'd return. BIG SIDE NOTE*** if you want to sleep at night ask for a room on the 7-8th floor. It gets super loud after 10pm.

The trip was amazing. From beginning to end top notch service all the way. They called us family and we were treated like family. Miguel our server and Brian the bar tender was the best . Our room had expansive views with a very large balcony. A variety of restaurants to choose from all excellent especially La Hacienda. I cannot wait to come back.

Steakhouse 2/10. The ambience was really nice, the food not so much.

My friend and I visited this property for our birthday. The property is beautiful and sits right on the beach. The only negative I would give, is that the common areas were extremely hot. The lobby bar, restaurants and hallways were hot. The food was amazing at every restaurant except the steakhouse. The highlight being the buffet. Our room had balcony with an ocean view. They even decorated it for our birthday! I would definitely go back here but hopefully they have the ac working by then.

Just arrived and this scenery is to die for. We checked in and headed to breakfast. Then nap at the beach until room is ready I am savoring this unforgettable experience ok we had brunch and now we sitting in the lobby waiting on rooms This hotel was trash, from the rooms, to the service. 1.We had to be moved from first room due to mold and very musty smell was unbearable. The second room was somewhat better. After a while the smell came back. Like an old mop. 2. The entertainment needs to be upgraded so dated. 3. The food selection needs to be more appealing. (Buffet line) If you going to use same food daily make it more presentable not dry and old. The steakhouse was good. The steak was amazing but the veggies were lost in the kitchen it was a sliced tomato, sliced zucchini and sliced squash one of each so thin and the size of a quarter. The salads were so small and the dressing is a teaspoon. The appetizers were not great at all. It was 3 onion rings, crab cakes had 2 and they taste li 3. Our beds were not changed one time in 5 days appalling for a 3-4 star resort. In day 4 I called and ask for a sheet change and no one appeared. We had 2 beds and I was in the room she changed one bed but not the other. Let's not discuss the bugs in the room or someone else's lashes left on the counter after room was supposed cleaned. 4. The fruit was horrible how are you in tropical area and no sweet fruit, let's not talk about the watered down liquor and the sodas that was flat every time. We had to ask for water because the room was not equipped with water and the gift shop charged 13.00 a bottle. 5. The checkin area was under construction and not deemed safe. 6. The elevators were always congested and a couple didn't work making it impossible to move expeditiously. 7. We ask for ice from room service after 1 hour it was mostly melted. 8. Not many English speakers in the building making it hard to communicate. 9. We went to schedule exit transportation and was informed the guy did not come to work and there was not a replacement try in the am (impossible because we had 525 am pickup), but other members in my party were not informed (will review separately). On my pickup day we were instructed to be down by 525 for pickup I came down and checked out 5:07 the guy came in the lobby called our name at 530 we went out and he pretended he never called our name and our transportation was gone. I explained to the manager that I was there and he said sorry we can't accommodate you because company was gone. What happened was he gave our ride to another passenger by mistake and did want to make it right. We paid an additional 50.00 for a cab. Best/worst stay ever Look into another resort they need to do better

Always found a pile of dirty dishes and trash outside our door. Wasn't even ours! This was here for hours until I called and complained

If I could give the resort 0 stars I would. *Long post alert* My family and I have stayed at the Royalton CHIC at least 5 times. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had. Check in process: Was gut wrenching. The staff were very unfriendly and treated the entire process as a revolving door system. My reservation was not honored, a reservation I made with the Royalton reservation agent directly. I paid for a junior suite with a terrace jacuzzi and ocean view. We were given a smelly, dirty suite with a mangrove view. We were livid- after traveling with two toddlers we could not even relax. We had to go back to the front desk and wait to speak to a front desk agent, who eventually did move us, but not to a suite that we booked. The room was dirty and the screen door was broken. The maid service was AWFUL. They never mopped the floor or cleaned the toilet the entire time we were there ( 5 nights). There was pee rings on the toilet- I have two toddler boys! The stopped leaving snacks- no chips, cookies or snacks were left in the room. Staff did not give a F*** about any of our concerns. We were promised phone calls, follow ups, resort credits and so on and they went radio silent. Kept saying they would contact me. The safe in the room was broken- took them 2 hours to fix it. Time wasted in the room! Room service was also terrible. NO OPTIONS! They offered 2 options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were shocked, couldnt even get pasta for my kids via room service. The restaurant food was disgusting especially the seafood- fish was gross. My husband paid $50.00 for a tiny piece of Lobster as an upgrade. It was shocking. My kids eat vegetarian diet when we travel and there aren't enough options at the restaurants. The kids menu options had like two different options at all the restaurants so pretty much lived on pasta and pizza for the week. Surprisingly, the brunch buffet probably had the most consistent food. The tiles and floors were all broken and rigid by the pool areas- it was impossible to walk barefoot . My kids were not able to swim in the splash pad area as there was always something closed . On the 4th day I begged the front desk for find me a manager , finally I spoke to someone named Edgar. I cried my eyes out explaining to him how sad and hurt I was that the staff dismissed my concerns and that the condition of the room was subpar. I explained to him the countless hours I wasted at guest services , the amount of money I spent on the perfect vacation as this was our first time traveling as new family of 4. I explained that I worked so hard all year to save money to bring my toddlers on a vacation and he gave me two big F*** yous. He was incredibly not phased or willing to help/ he claimed that my reservation was locked and he had no way of adjusting it. I pleaded for a manager and was told he went home . I was speechless. As someone who always advocated for the Royalton I will never step foot here. Not because of money but because of the dismissed way I was treated .

Extremely Disappointed -- Beautiful Resort, Poorly Managed and Unresponsive to Serious Issues My recent stay at Royalton Chic Cancun was a mix of beauty and frustration. While the resort itself is visually stunning and the location is ideal, the way the management handled a critical issue during our stay left us deeply disappointed and disrespected as guests. For over 33 hours, there was no running water in our room -- no shower, no working toilet, and no ability to wash hands or brush teeth. Despite the severity of the issue, the hotel's solution was to suggest we use the lobby bathroom -- located 15 floors down, with extremely slow elevators. This "solution" was not only inconvenient, but deeply inconsiderate given our unique situation: my husband was bedridden recovering from multiple dental surgeries and also has Crohn's disease, which makes timely and easy access to a restroom essential. We received no sincere/concrete apology, no compassion, and very little communication throughout the ordeal. While other guests were likely able to spend the day at the beach, we were left in an unsanitary and undignified situation in our room, with no assistance. To make matters worse, the water was shut off again on the day of our departure, further adding to the disruption and lack of basic services. Despite repeated follow-ups, the hotel took over a week just to consider reimbursing four nights -- and even that has still not been confirmed or followed through. I also learned that every guest who attempted to receive compensation was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). I refused to sign, because I believe that guests deserve transparency -- and to be warned when a hotel cannot guarantee essential services. Sadly, even those who did sign have reportedly not been refunded. Communication from management has been sporadic at best, and dismissive at worst. Given that this hotel operates under the Marriott brand, I expected far better -- both in service and in customer care. Warning to future guests: If you are traveling with someone who has medical needs or expect reliable basic amenities like running water, I strongly urge you to reconsider. In our experience, Royalton Chic Cancun was unprepared to handle emergencies, and unwilling to communicate honestly or provide timely resolutions. A pretty resort means little when the most basic standards of care and accountability are not met. I sincerely hope Marriott and Blue Diamond Resorts take a closer look at how this situation was handled. A resort is more than just a beautiful pool and beach -- it's also about how you treat your guests when things go wrong.

Of course. I only added Eddie into the service section and left everything else the same…read more I have gone back and forth on writing this review because there are so many things this resort does well, but overall my experience did not quite match the expectations I had from previous Hyatt stays. This was not my first visit to Hyatt Zilara Cancun and it was actually my amazing experience here in 2019 that started my loyalty to Hyatt. I am currently a World of Hyatt Discoverist member, and after my first visit to Zilara, we loved the Hyatt experience so much that we chose Hyatt Ziva for our vow renewal in 2022. Because of that, returning to Zilara was something I had looked forward to for years. First, the staff at this resort deserves so much recognition. My concerns are not a reflection of the employees because the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. From before we even arrived to our final day, everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted guests to have a great experience. Before our trip, Eddie reached out as our concierge and was extremely helpful in making sure we were prepared for our stay. He helped coordinate our spa services ahead of time and assisted us with securing a late checkout, which made our trip much smoother and more relaxing. At check-in, Luis helped us on the World of Hyatt side and was wonderful. He explained the changes and additions to the resort, helped us understand reservations, and made sure we had the information we needed. Throughout the resort, the service remained consistent. Even when I had a meal I didn't enjoy, a staff member at the teppanyaki restaurant was genuinely concerned, offered alternatives, and wanted to make it right. That level of care stood out. Our room was excellent. We stayed on the fifth floor in a corner room and it was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was fantastic, and I loved the pillows so much I am actually trying to find out what kind they are so I can buy them for home. The bathroom was great, especially the mirror with multiple lighting options. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, which I always appreciate. The only thing I personally missed was having a bathtub, but overall I had no complaints about the room. The resort itself is beautiful and extremely clean. The pool area is relaxing with comfortable chairs, and it was never difficult to find a place to sit. The atmosphere is definitely more quiet and relaxing rather than a party environment, which can be a positive depending on the type of trip you want. The beach was well maintained, especially considering the seaweed situation during our visit. The staff worked hard to keep it cleaned up, and the things outside of the resort's control, like weather and ocean conditions, did not impact my opinion. The spa was absolutely phenomenal and I wrote a separate review specifically for that experience because it deserves its own recognition. The gym was also impressive for a resort gym. There was plenty of equipment, treadmills, a stretching/yoga space, and even a Pilates studio. I was hoping to participate in Pilates, but the class filled up quickly. I thought the fitness offerings were a nice addition. Where this stay fell short for me was the food. At an all-inclusive resort, the food experience is such a huge part of the overall value because you are eating every meal on property. When we visited in 2019, one of our favorite memories was eating at Pelicanos by the pool, so we were excited to return there first. We knew things had changed since our last visit, but unfortunately the quality and options did not feel the same. We tried several restaurants, and while the service was always great, the food itself was disappointing. The Italian restaurant felt very bland overall, although the bread service and tiramisu were enjoyable. The cacio e pepe and pasta dishes did not meet expectations. The teppanyaki experience also was not what I expected. I was hoping for more of a traditional hibachi-style experience, and the meat quality was disappointing. The buffet was fine, especially breakfast, but nothing really stood out. Room service was quick and the staff was friendly, but again the food itself was not something we loved. My favorite treat on property ended up being the ice cream at the coffee shop. The biggest thing I missed was having easy poolside food options. When I'm at an all-inclusive, I love being able to relax by the pool and grab things like quesadillas, ceviche, or small bites without stopping the pool day. The lack of that type of experience was probably my biggest disappointment. Drinks and pool service were great, and the staff did a wonderful job checking on guests. I personally don't drink alcohol, but it was clear they were attentive with beverages. Entertainment was limited compared to some other all-inclusive resorts. There were some activities and a few performances, but not the larger

WOW This is our…read morefirst resort in Cancun and I don't think we will ever choose another one. FOOD Wow. We did our homework before our trip and saw Zilara Cancun had good/decent reviews about their food. Let me tell you, this is probably the best food I've had in a long long time. Top dishes for me are the octopus with mole and lobster tostada from Maria Marie. If you like/can eat seafood, trust me on this. The drinks are phenomenal as well. There are signature drinks at all the restaurants. Those are mostly hits but some are misses (depends on your taste buds) PRO TIP: sign up for alcohol tastings at The Den first day you get there. We did tequila and wine tasting. It was quite a unique experience. SERVICE I've never gotten treated like this in any hotel I've been at. Chef's kiss for sure. The bellhop/front desk usually can break your 20s/100s into 1s so don't feel the need to exchange pesos (unless you want to of course). The workers at the hotel (and around Cancun overall) takes USD PRO TIP: there are a lot of activities hosted by the hotel. Morning exercise classes are really fun and the night shows are just okay. The crowd is definitely on the older side that just want to come to Cancun and chill not party. From hearing the reviews, Zilara had the most amount of activities from various first hand reviews from our friends All in all, solid resort. You won't regret it!

We visited in mid December, and found everything to be truly great. We went in with relatively low expectations about crowds, food, updates around the hotel, etc. The building/grounds: it's no 5 star luxury hotel, but it is well kept, clean, and spacious enough to accommodate your needs. For our family, we really loved that the layout is pretty condensed. Within a couple of minutes, you can easily walk from the kids' pool to the beach. This made it so easy to move from spot to spot throughout the day without crazy transitions. (Really the only challenge was that I didn't get a map or see a posted one, but it wasn't too hard to find things or just ask for help) The activities: the two pools, pirate ship themed water slides, and two larger slides (for ages 5-12 only) and the beach were all beautiful and enough to entertain our crew. They regularly have workouts going on, sand volleyball games, pool games, etc. There are plenty of opportunities to move and interact with other guests if you want to. The food/drink scene: we tried all but one of the restaurants for dinner (sorry casa de Rosa , the one night we tried to get in we waited too late and it was too full for a table of 6). Previous reviews raved about Viaggi's for Italian cuisine, so we headed there first. It was a very nice, upscale vibe, but we felt a little out of place with 3 tiny babes at the table here. We really loved the evening views at "at sunset", but our true fave was Azul: you've gotta try the teriyaki salmon. I ordered it three nights in a row . The room service was a great addition for days when we had to hang out for nap times, but we didn't love the food we received unfortunately. For breakfast, I highly recommend Ventanas (amazing views, indoor and outdoor seating, vast buffet and so quick!) Lunch favorite was the poolside grill for sure! They also had great tacos right on the beach. All the bars had quick service and friendly bartenders as well! We don't drink much so I don't have much to report there. Coffee drinkers -- you won't get a craft coffee here, but they serve Britt coffee and the staff is super hardworking. They'll accommodate you! Other noteworthy things: we had ZERO problems w crowds, We easily found chairs at the pool and at the beach, generally always had access to shade if we wanted it, and other than one night we were able to get a table anywhere we wanted without any issues. Our maid did a great job keeping up with our room, and generally was able to fulfill our special requests (for additional water bottles, refilling facial tissues, etc) The staff: truly the only name I remember at this point is Juan Carlos... Because he is a waiter at Azul, where we ate three nights in a row part of the reason we kept coming back, other than the truly top notch teriyaki salmon, was because he was so great at providing an experience for our family. The first night we came, we were a group of 9, and he immediately welcomed us as family and asked us a couple of questions about our dietary preferences and then promptly brought so.many.appetizers and fan favorite drinks without our asking. It was a treat! He was friendly and upbeat and the most memorable staff member we interacted with. We really had a great week, and I'm so grateful we got to come and be spoiled by the amazing staff, and breathe in the gorgeous views and silky soft white sand.

The view of from the infinity edge looking out to the ocean can't be beat. I did have lunch at their pool side restaurant which the special of the day was poke and it was delicious. Service was also friendly and prompt. As I was there on a day pass they held my passport u til I returned the key card to access the gym/locker room and the two towel cards. I really enjoyed they have a lending library and I got to pickup a book while there. In usual fashion, pool chairs were reserved as soon as the day starts which made it harder to find a prime seat. They also had a competition at the pool area that was entertaining to watch. Restrooms could have been better marked for directions as I wondered we around for a hot minute to find the ones labeled on the maps. Maybe it was just me? Overall great day at the property and I'll stay here next time to get the full experience.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and tried to help with our request. The room was a junior suite with an ocean view. It was comfortable and our room attendant did a great job. The king bed was two beds pushed together, but with some magic by the wife we made it more like one and were very comfortable. You can get a single king bed in some of the rooms. We were there with friends and didn't want be separated so we stayed with that configuration. I would try and get a room on the west wing. It actually looks to the east and you don't get the extreme heat in the late afternoon that the east wing does. We ate at all of the restaurants and our favs were the Black and White Steak house and Krystal. The Italian restaurant off of the lobby was good for a quick slice of pizza at lunch time. The buffet is like it is on a cruise ship and was good for most of our breakfast seatings. After a few days gets a little old. The staff was super friendly and hard workers. There is a 24 hour refreshment spot, but the food is only so so. Just for a quick sandwich or fruit. They do have a beer tap and a few selections of liquor available there for self service as well. The pool and beach area had plenty of chairs and umbrellas. If you don't see any available just ask and they will make it happen if possible. My complaint about the pool would be they close at 7:00. One small pool stay open until 8:00. Way too early for an adult only. I suggest if you want to do excursions to go straight across the street to one of the stands. If you know what you want to do they are a much better deal, but be certain you know where you want to go. make sure and get transportation included in your excursion. Also in that area there is the Bamboo Spa. You can get a massage for less than half at the resort spa. They did a very good job and were very professional. Not a "happy endings" type of place. Tell them you will do the massage if they throw in the fish foot treatment. Sounds weird but it was pretty nice. This is all inclusive for food and drink. The drinks are pretty light and when you ask for something other than the house liquor I'm pretty sure it didn't happen all the time. The best is to ask for the drink with a shot on the side, or better yet go to the bar yourself and watch them make the drink. It was definitely better and i was assured to get the name brand. Over all I would recommend this RIU.

Our previous hotel left a lot to be desired, so this was a very welcome change. From the entrance way I was impressed with the decor walking through the garden and pool area I was in awe of how beautiful everything was. The room was immaculately clean, and while it was a standard room it was very nice and spacious and the marble flooring was such a nice touch. The shower was huge !!! We got in late so I assumed finding food would be a struggle , wrong again they offered 3 dining options late night as well as room service!!! The restaurant we found had amazing drinks and the food was so fresh and good ugh ! The restaurant was Cafe Urbano . The next morning we woke up and we were able to have a delicious breakfast with plenty of options including fresh fruit and let me tell you that in room coffee is also amazing! I honestly cannot wait to return to Cancun. I would definitely stay at this resort again. I've stayed at a several of hotels in Cancun and this is on the list of must return!!

He has a difficult job and does it very well. BANQUETS REVIEW My friends hosted a Private pool party at Presidente InterContinental Cancun in August went on without a hitch. The pool area, cabanas, and buffet stations were immaculate . Despite the rain, we had a fabulous time. One star deduction for not being prepared for my food allergies which the catering/ banquet staff was aware of for more than three weeks. Thankfully, the staffed hurried to find two items that I could eat. They covered for the below par communication and made it work for me to have a chicken breast and two slices of steak which were both cooked properly and were flavorful. Most importantly, the wedding couple was not impacted. They had a wonderful time.

There is a thermostat in the rooms, but guests have no control of it- the ac seems to turn itself off during the night. There is no space on one side of each bed, so I had to crawl either over my husband or off the bed via the bottom of the bed during the night. There is only one plug in the bedroom. "Included" WiFi was not functioning at all during at least 1/3 of our stay with no communication of this information, no apology and never an idea of when it would be reinstated. Then there is the "all inclusive " food. Breakfast is the only partially passable meal, but only if you want to eat eggs or toast (that is toasted on one side only??). The oatmeal is the consistency of water. The one day I tried to eat lunch ("served until 5pm??) no one would take my order. Then eventually they told me i could come back in an hour (at 2pm?!?). The one day we ate dinner most items were not warm and the dessert i tried had such a bad taste, i spit it out. We arrived back late one day from a tour of Chiten Itzá and I was quite hungry, it was 10pm and dinner was until 11pm. Most everything looked to be cold so i asked if they could make some French fries (the kitchen staff was just standing around) but they said no. We tried to speak with them at the front desk x2 about these issues, but were responded either with platitudes and then with a defensive response bordering on yelling. I also witnessed the front desk full on yelling at another "guest" . The "golf course "? There is none- it's been closed for years. I do not think the owners of this facility care one bit for the experience of the guests. If you have read this far... PLEASE do NOT stay here. Not recommended.
