He was so patient and walked me through different options for replacing my old system and answered all of my questions. I love my new system and the quality and level of service I received from J&M & Gilbert, from the first call in to make an appointment, to the completion of the install. He wasn't pushy which I greatly appreciated. I had called 2 other larger companies and was not impressed by the "salesmen" they brought in after a technician showed up. They were really trying to sell me a new system the same day they were out and kept adjusting the price, I feel like they were just trying to make a sell. I highly recommend J&M and Gilbert and feel they are a trustworthy small business.

Over many years we have used OWH for two replacement cycles of our two heaters. Dan is very honest…read moreand straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable about water heaters. This week we had an issue with one of our heaters, and Dan and Allie came with a $300 repair kit and a $1,600 replacement water heater. Dan quickly saw that the gas valve replacement kit would solve the issue and immediately went that route. Eight years ago Dan revealed the "secrets" of making a good water heater last a good long time: 1. Keep the temperature setting constant, even if leaving the house for an extended period. This keeps the water tank from contracting and expanding due to changes in water temps. 2. Check the anode yearly and change when necessary. Owner manuals tell how and why. 3. Run household water softener systems at the lowest possible setting. Such systems are the enemy of water heaters. OWH's prices are below others I have checked. Water heaters are very expensive in Utah now because of our rules requiring ultra-low NOX heaters to be used in accordance with California regulations (yes, California). Ultra-low NOX heaters are ultra-expensive.

I was getting a constant error code and could not resolve it following the manual. When Randy arrived, I detailed all that I had done to that point. We ran uninterrupted hot water for 30 minutes with no fail (error code). I said maybe it settled down and asked Randy what my charge was for his coming over. He said "You did everything I would have to fix it, so no service charge"! Unbelievable! A week later, the error code was back (and no reliable hot water). Randy came out again, checked everything on the units intake/exhaust system and found no reason for the error code. He dug in further and found a dip switch that was not set up correctly by the original installer. He spent 90 minutes working on the unit, ran a test with all faucets running hot water at the same time, and it worked perfectly. This time, I ask what I owed for his professional service and he said "our regular service call fee . . . $75.00". Every other company in Salt Lake would have charged that (or more) as their portal-to-portal hourly fee! Everyone at Brozwood was smart, efficient, professional, and really made me feel like their only customer. I'll call them again for and HVAC/Plumbing issues in the future and I'll recommend them to anyone that asks for a help with their home.

This was getting ridiculous so I called another service and they came the next day and completed the job at a lesser cost. Upfront did refund my cc.
