I was starting to browse around town looking for alteration options for a bridesmaid dress. I went…read moreto 2 places in Austin and the price just sounded ridiculous compared to what I paid for the dress. One bridesmaid suggested I drive down to her alteration place in San Marcos, Special Occasions. I called beforehand to verify their hours and said I would be coming in that weekend to try it on for a quote. The bride ended up coming with me because she had a few things to alter as well. The dress was way too big on me and too long. I was provided a very acceptable price and received friendly service. It was around thanksgiving and I was in no rush, so it was about 2 weeks before I could get back down there on a weekend. It was well worth the travel. I tried it on before I paid for it and noticed it was still a bit big in the waist, so she said she will fix it immediately if my friend and I wanted to grab lunch nearby. She stayed open past their closing time and called me back in about an hour. I didn't try it on again, I trusted her! And the dress fit me like a glove. I've worn it to 2 weddings now and even throughout washes everything stayed taught. Highly recommend this place.

I've had to use Al's twice, once for a quinceañera about 2.5 years ago and most recently for a high school prom. Both times, the staff was friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. With multiple locations, we were able to get sized when and where it was convenient to us and return to any location, which is huge plus to us since it will need to be returned in another city. I had no idea how much it was to rent a tux and it' s pricey. I was basing the price from the quinceañera which I didn't think was that bad, don't know if they got bulk discount or because it was over 2 years ago but the price on the most recent tux(basic black nothing fancy, black tie and matte black shoes) was at least twice as much, if not more.
