We've traveled the world and everywhere we go we find a Thai restaurant and try the Chicken Satay and Pad Thai and Tom Yum Soup and out of Scotland, Ireland, Mexico, Cabo, Hong Kong, the US and Thailand this by far THE best we've ever had on all levels. The Chicken Satay was moist and tasty, same with the great flavors of the Pad Thai and soup. The owner knew all the regulars by name and took time to visit with the everyone while still taking care of serving everyone. Definitely worth a visit.

I recently bothered with it on a friend's suggestion. We grabbed some takeaway because it was close by and therefore convenient. She hadn't been before either but had a strong recommendation for it. So we went! And I haven't looked back. I've eaten at TVH at least twice a week in the last month. TVH convert. TVH I LOVE YOU I'M SO SORRY IT TOOK ME SO LONG I'LL MAKE IT UP TO YOU. TVH has two separate approaches in two separate ways: you can eat in or take away, and you can select from the made to order menu or pick bain marie options. The bain marie options involve selecting from a base of noodles or rice, then selecting from various curries etc for toppings. You also choose between one ($7.80), two ($9) or three ($11) toppings. I'm going into great detail about the bain marie because it's actually incredible, and also the quickest and easiest. You don't have to worry about the food getting grungy in the bain marie because TVH is actually super popular, so much so that there's a line out the door during the lunch rush, so everything on heat is pretty dang fresh. I'm a huge fan of the green curry and the BBQ vegies. TVH use mock meats in their dishes and they're bloody tasty. I believe everything in the bain marie is vegan, even, but don't quote me on that because as a meat eater I'm not really fussed. All I'm fussed on is the flavour, which is big and bold and spicy in all the right ways and I am HERE for YOU, TVH.

I just wasn't that impressed with what I got though. The sambal tofu was small in portion size, and there was a lot of some sort of squash the menu hadn't mentioned and not that much tofu. It was tasty and a bit spicy, but not nearly good enough to be worth getting on any kind of regular basis. I will say that though the price was high, they were open over Easter break and didn't have an extra surcharge during that period (as is not uncommon in Australian business), so that's good. But while the service and ambiance were nice, I felt I could have done better.
