One is missing out if they haven't already shopped The Cottage Door in Weaverville!…read more I have been a shopper and consigner for 18+ years. Rachel, the owner and her crew are so warm and friendly. You'll find them greet you when you enter and always happy to assist you, The Cottage Door continues to be an upscale consignment shop as they are selective. This being said, gently used vintage and modern clothing, shoes, jewelry, choctchkies, along with antique items too. Oh and furniture!!! Always beautiful furniture in this shop. Everything is clean and well organized, unlike many thrift stores I've been to. Prices and consignment pay out are both very fair. The store is lovely and so fun to meander through. One wont need to sift and sort through items which really makes the shopping experience a pleasure. You'll see items that you've never seen before and are so interesting! So if you haven't been to The Cottage Door you are missing out! I highly recommend if you love beautiful things and a good deal!

I even bought some clothes -- what I will now refer to as my Pioneer Woman outfit -- totally not my style but so soft and comfortable. Bring the whole family -- the kids will enjoy the large toy and candy section -- and I didn't even look at the large Mast-branded jams, jellies and jarred food section because I wouldn't be able to fit them in my suitcase. Was beyond elated to know it hasn't changed at all. However he did let me know the Annapurna region now has roads and traffic going to and from. I remember a warm climate trail loop thru Villages, staying in little lodges, eating what the locals prepared. The jewelry especially the turquoise stone and orange coral necklaces with the medallion brought me right back. The chiefs wife in Nam Boche wore that exact necklace. He carries cool earrings and cool charms of the Nepali Namaste symbol. It was so neat seeing everything he had as I remember people walking around in those clothes, jewels and all the Buddha and Hindi type decor. He said he flies and buys directly instead or having people ship him stuff. So that he can choose quality and style of items he wants for accuracy. It's a beautiful shop, if you've visited India or Nepal, you will love it. I'm glad to see other reviews of people that enjoy this unique shop as you won't find these items unless you are in that part of the world. I especially loved the really old shaman drum he had, the cool sound bowls, beaded bracelets. I really wanted the little symbols! They had drum circles in the town I lived in before but I don't have a tribe or circle yet here on easy coast. But I know where he is when I'm ready !

You can either park on the street or park in one of the structures or lots nearby. We parked in the structure across the street and walked to all of the shops in the area. The shop is well-curated with unique pieces from a variety of eras and different styles. Everything is arranged by color and item type on the racks. The tags try to include the era for the piece, any damage present, and the price. There was a long pleated tartan skirt with a contrast color tartan on the inside of the pleats that I tried on for laughs. It was beautifully made, but the length was not for me and the price was a little high for my liking. Still, it was fun trying it on and seeing the other items available in the shop. There are a few men's items up front, but it mostly sells women's vintage clothing and accessories. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I'd consider stopping by again to see what was new.

There's something super charming about this space. I was surprised by how open and spacious it is. Tall ceilings and massive windows make this spot quite a breath of fresh air rather than the typical stuffy feeling you can experience at a vintage store. Mentioning vintage stores, I find that there's often a lack of choices for men, but whoever is doing the buying for this shop is definitely dedicated to making sure there's a generous selection of stuff for the gents. There was an ample amount of things for me to rifle through, and a great distraction! I found an absolutely awesome blazer, and a number of vintage belt buckles that are going to be making their way on to my last minute Christmas list. Oh yes! Accessories. Chotskies. How do you spell chotskies? I have no idea... but this shop has a large variety of them. Interesting little objects from eras passed. Prices seem fair... the items are of an excellent quality, and everything seems like it's curated. Almost a sort of gallery feel. Although it took me years to actually walk into this place, I have a feeling I'll be visiting it again more often in the future.
