Perfect place for the quick gift, and the staff is fresh and will gladly help you locate that special thing you're looking for even if you don't know what you want. I scooped up some miniature things, my friend had pens and notecards. Honestly, that kid's mom should have said, "Whist!" which in Irish or Scottish dialects means "Hush!" or "Shut it!" But, it was packed with unique, locally made art goods (95% Asheville artists, 5% Tennessee/Kentucky they say) that were awesome AND affordable. Pottery, wood carvings, textiles, Christmas ornaments, cookware, glass art, paintings, and more. I liked most everything I saw, and again, it was artistry that wouldn't break your bank. The customer service was so friendly, and the nice lady working really wanted to connect with us, and also tell more about the artists who made some of the different art. Informative, funny, kind - she was great. I would recommend this to EVERY Asheville tourist looking for something unique to take home, rather than junky trinkets made in China that you can find in every American gift shop.

Visiting on a Sunday afternoon, the building felt surprisingly quiet. There was very little foot traffic, and many of the shops had few or no customers, giving the space an empty atmosphere rather than the lively marketplace I expected. It's very disappointing!! Parking is another downside. There's no free parking nearby, so you'll need to use metered street parking or pay for one of the public parking garages if you're driving. I prepaid 1.5 hours and was out of the building in less than half and hour.
