If you don't fancy a large meal, TWB's forte is the snack menu consisting of light bites like White bait goujons and chorizo chipolatas with sundried tomatoes. The chips are to die for too! I was very impressed and whilst this isn't the cheapest of places to dine at, you certainly get your money's worth through the quaint surroundings and gorgeous views of the Surrey hills.

I'm not going to say they were necessarily much better than other places in London, but they were about as good as the more touristy places I tried, but were also about half the price of fish and chips I had near Victoria station just a day earlier. Highgate Cemetery can be a bit of a hike, so this is a great place to stop in and whet your whistle.

They also serve a good selection of food as well. Not the a-typical pub grub, this is more of a fancy/gastropub type menu, featuring ribs, gourmet sandwiches, a pulled pork salad and much more. Roasts are around £15 (so not that cheap, but it is the same price range everywhere in that area and it is worth it). The real charm of the place is probably its dining room though. Every time one of us went to the bar we got served straight away and my mate was happy as they had some guest ales on. It was relatively quiet but I'm guessing that is due to it being the week after Christmas. It was lovely and warm and they had the heating on full blast which was great as it was Baltic outside. The one down side was that there was only one ladies toilet that I could see and when you are dying for a wee it was frustrating. It was also a male/female toilet even though there was a large men's toilet up the other end. All in all a pleasant experience and I am sure I will be back.

Let me start by saying the food was 'OK', nothing to shout about but nice. The small portion size was a a bit of a problem. I was left still hungry after their Roast Rump of Lamb, there were no side dishes. The location of the Wharf is really nice. Just by Teddington Loch so you can watch the boats on the Thames. The dining area is floor to celling glass so everyone gets a good view. The service was absolutely abominable. For want of a better word the waiters were 'snooty' and very unobliging. We were a party of five. Myself and three others arrived first. We were asked weather we wanted to sit at the bar or go straight to the table, so we opted to go to the table. The Waiter then proceeded to put the menu's on the table, walk away and never come back. No offer of drinks while we wait, it took me to get up and get a waiter to be served some drinks. When the rest of our party arrived, exactly the same thing happened. After we finally had our drinks we started browsing the menu. The Waiter then appeared again to tell us the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes so we needed to order now! I enquired later as to why you would take a booking for 5 at a time when the kitchen was about to close and the received the response of "most of our patrons order quickly"....... The final nail in the coffin for the evening was the fact that we were offered no choice of desert and then were rudely ushered off the table so they could clear away. We headed down to the bar and an hour later I noticed the same table was still unoccupied. So avoid the Wharf like the plague. The location at Teddington lock is lovely but you will be treated like you're a nuisance, not a paying customer. I hope this review has help steer you off the idea of having dinner at the Wharf.
