I love getting my hands and feet pampered! There is nothing like having a quality mani/pedi with a nice relaxing massage in a tranquil setting. However, I don't always have the time or money for that. Sometimes I just need my cuticles cleaned up and my nails polished. When I need a quick and cheap mani/pedi, I come here... or I used to come here... I don't think I'll be back :(
My first visit here was about a year ago and the business was still fairly new. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. Tammy did my mani/pedi and I was pleasantly surprised, she did such a fantastic job. She was gentle with the mani/pedi, but she was firm with the massage... and she I was in nail salon heaven. I was so excited to find a place close to home that was fairly inexpensive and so convenient.
My next 2-3 visits were not as pleasant. While I thought it was okay for the price, I couldn't help but feel that I just wasn't getting what I was paying for. I don't mind paying more... if it's worth it. Sad to say, I just don't feel that it was worth it.
It's been about 6 months since my last visit, but today I needed a pedicure really really badly and the two other places I sometimes go to were busy, so I decided to come here. I walked in and it was busy, but not too busy... several of the employees looked up, but no one greeted me. I should have known at that moment to turn around and walk out. The place looked older and even a little dirty as though it hadn't been cleaned since the last time I had been there!
The person who did my pedi, Amy, was friendly (at first) but she just really didn't seem like she cared about what she was doing. My pedi was short and rushed and even painful at times. I paid and extra $10 for the "deluxe stone massage" treatment and $5 extra a for the scrub... that money would have been better spend on a drink at Starbucks because the stones weren't even hot and the massage itself only lasted about a minute and a half. I was so disappointed to have wasted my hard earned money on it.
When I was paying, Amy didn't say anything to me except for the price, "Fifty-two seventy-five."
So I took out my cash to pay and I had $55... not enough to pay with cash and leave a tip. So I handed her my card, she rolled her eyes, charged my card and walked away without a word... leaving me standing there like an idiot, holding her cash tip in my hand. I waited for a minute because I thought she might come back, but she didn't.... so I left the money on the counter and left.
Now, although it makes me feel a little guilty, I wish I hadn't left a tip at all!!!
I don't think I'll ever be back. read more
