This particular Royal Farms in Westminster, MD is my go to place to gas up while in the way home to Gettysburg after visiting the Delaware shore. Gas prices are less in Maryland than in Pennsylvania, but Maryland taxes the heck out of everything else, including retirement funds. The store is only about a year old, so I don't feel like I'm pumping the dredges of the holding tanks from the 1970s. The bathrooms are reasonably clean, and the store orderly. It is easy to get into and leave from the highway and has a traffic signal to exit which is even better. The coffee is good. I've never eaten food prepared in a Royal Farms. The prices are reasonable, and gasoline prices definitely less heavily taxed than nearby Pennsylvania read more

I had paid for all my items and went back in to use the bathroom , as soon as I came out I was followed into the lobby quietly by a r*cist blonde teen employee, she then proceeded to accuse me of stealing and made a HUGE scene, was screaming like a maniac and blurting out all these statements. She told me that I was never allowed back in the store. I then showed my empty pockets and she proceeded to say, "it's Probably in your pants". A older lady who was my cashier realized who she was accusing and then had to explain to her that I had already came in to pay for my items, I laughed as I cussed her out for wrongly accusing me of stealing, an undercover police that might've been called at the time was laughing at her. Nobody in their right mind should cause such a disruption or accuse someone of something without evidence. Pure speculation led this girl to look very idiotic in her own store. What a shame. read more

I walked here tonight Nov 30, 2023 because my daughter was hungry and I needed cigarettes anyway. When I checked out I used the app to get 3 dollars off 2 packs but the check out screen said only saved 1 dollar ( later found out it comes off on the keypad when you swipe card but I didn't know that because I don't work there) only two employees a young man and young woman. I asked the man could he take the cigarettes off and I'll pay seperate so I could scan my rewards app. The way he scoffed and rolled his eyes at me then left and went to tell the young woman to deal with me before he cusses me out COMPLELETY RUDE AND UNCALLED FOR! I never am one to complain or call managers yet alone leave reviews but I was so shocked and angry I just was laughing and shaking my head. Maybe since he can't handle helping customers he needs to be in the back making chicken because it took all I had not to cuss him out. Came in tonight my wife and had heard great things about the chicken wanted to see if the hype was true. the food was absolutely amazing my go to for chicken had always been Popeyes needless to say that is history but what I was most impressed with was the outstanding customer service I received while I was there two young men had helped my wife order the food technology is not her strong point these guys we patient and extremely helpful with placing our order wish I got there names but the cashier was extremely welcoming had a wonderful conversation with Darryl only reason I remember the cuz we share the name we compared spellings food was great but the customer service is why I'll continue coming back thank you guys for making my first time there a great one and for this royal farms in Westminster will be my go to gas station read more

The gas reward card did not work, and the men's room was abysmal. I've been considering switching to wawa and believe will do so on my next trip to Delaware. There is a Royal Farms in Rehoboth that is also awful. A company tradition? I left my rewards card in the trash here, and will Uninstaller the app when I get home read more

I don't go there a ton bc the location is so bad but probably monthly we grab fried chicken for dinner there and it is some of the best store bought fried chicken I've ever had. Always fresh. They don't let it sit around all day just to have to make less. So good I periodically will get some fried chicken in the city at other rofos when I'm working and it's either dried out garbage or it's decent but never as fresh as these guys in Westminster. As far as everything else they have gas and convenience store stuff and they sell it to you if you want to buy it so I dont really know what the complaints are about. When I walk around to thoroughly inspect the cleanliness I usually stop and ask myself what I'm doing with my life and just get my chicken some gas and roll. read more

I have actually had several issues at this branch that all stem from one man and his bad attitude. I am not sure of his name, but I can tell you he is a big guy, tall, with a grey ponytail, he is always wearing a baseball cap, & he works the night shift. Several examples of issues I have had with him: 1. I went in around 8:00 PM one night to get dinner. The plan was to get a 10 piece tender, a 20 piece chicken, and fries. Apparently, this order was too tall for him. He actually told me that the customer that had just left took the last of the chicken and he was out of tenders. He told me I would have to go elsewhere because it would take too long to make more chicken and he didn't have any more tenders. In all my years of being a Royal Farms customer, I have NEVER heard such a thing!! 2. I went in one night with my sister to buy some snacks and a carton of cigarettes. After getting everything we stood at the register for more than 10 minutes. We were the only ones in the store. He was stocking shelves, facing us, less than 10 feet away directly in line of site. After saying "excuse me" several times to him and STILL being ignored, my sister and I just walked out without our purchases. 3. Tonight, I TRIED again to order food (which I swore to myself I would never do here again after the past few times of trying to get food). I ordered a 10 piece, 6 tenders, & fries. After getting home, I realized that he had only given me 7 pieces of chicken. My fiance also wanted another 10 piece, so I gave one leg to my son, packed everything back up, and drove 15 minutes back to the store. When I got there, I put the food on the counter. I was ignored until the rest of the customers were gone. When he finally got around to me, he had an attitude from the onset (as he usually does). I tried to explain to him that I ordered a 10 piece and he only gave me 7 pieces. I also explained that I would be needing another 10 piece, and asked him if he could possibly replace what I had brought back with fresh food since I still had a 15 minute drive home and it be nice to have food that was still hot. When I paid, he packed up another 10 piece for me, but didn't touch any of what I brought back in. After asking for fresh again, I got it with some reluctance, sighs, and attitude; further, he still hadn't touched the original bag of chicken with the SEVEN pieces. After bringing that to his attention yet again, he asked if I minded if he opened the bag. I told him no, so he proceeds to count the pieces of chicken. He notices the missing leg & questions me. I informed him that since it would be after midnight when I got home, I gave my 9 year old the leg. He then, instead of actually giving me fresh chicken as I requested, throws 3 more pieces in the bag and puts it on the counter. I just shook my head, took my food and went home. This man is very rude with ZERO people skills! It is apparent he does not belong in customer service, and he is miserable at his workplace. I have had conversations with others who work there that even say they cannot even get his coworkers to come in at night to work with him!!  I am a creature of habbit, and when I find a company/store I like, I go out of my way to spend my money only there. I USED to be that way with Royal Farms... today, on the other hand, I will now suggest going down the street to WAWA to spend your hard earned money (when they open back up again, that is!). read more

This is the most run down Royal Farms in the area. Came here to grab a quick wrap and western fries and seriously was beyond disgusted. There was trash EVERYWHERE outside. I get the people drop things, but have someone clean up every once in a while. All the trashcans were full, hence, why everything was on the ground. When I walked in they were working on restocking which I get, but thankfully someone with a disability wasn't trying to get in the door because t was blocked by boxes on the ground. When I went to order food, a young guy working there was more worried about his phone ringing then him prepping food and I never saw him change gloves after checking his cell phone. There was easily 6-7 flies on the order here sign and the young lady working on frying the food was cleaning the friers which looked to have been cleaned for weeks. Do yourself a favor and if you want Royal Farms stop at the one in Eldersburg or Finksburg. I'm only giving this rating a two star considering the lady who rang me out was really nice and apologetic for things being in the way. She seemed as if she knew her place of work looked like a hot mess. Totally beyond grossed out. read more

I still stop by this store once a day and have done so for at least ten years; it's probably been open 12 years or so and I've never found it to be as Brittany B. described. Perhaps it is an older location but its always been clean, the food always good (no different than any other location) and the employees always attentive and competent. At least three managers have come and gone and it has maintained a good appearance and been partially renovated several times. I buy 90% of my gas there annually and probably as much coffee. I love it and its location. Go there with confidence. read more
