The Fried chicken & thick Western fries are great. I've gotten it many times over the past 5 years living near here. Service is pretty good, and they are generally fast. My coworker had told me that he got Royal Farms in 2019, and I said I never had before, and he said I gotta have as they are excellent. He was right! I've gotten other items especially when they give me freebie rewards. Their iced coffee is pretty good, but I've had better in the area. However, they do have a good variety of coffees to choose from like most recently their seasonal drink Pumpkin spice; although I felt a bit queasy later after drinking it, so not sure about their coffee. Also, that same day on Thursday, I bought a Powerball ticket, which I had done on the machine a few times in the past. Fun Fact: I did NOT win the Powerball or even a minimal prize. read more

I usually buy these services inside the store because I prefer assistance with processing the car wash, even though I could have used the self-service lane or paid at the pump. I've been here a few times now and have come to have mixed feelings about it. Usually it is a quick stop to grab something and continue on my way. I'll be honest, Royal Farms is not my favorite gas station/convenience store combo to stop at. This one kind of fits nicely into the community fabric. Seamless entrance/exiting from this place. It was an easy task to do. Biggest downside here is walking in for just a quick second and then coming out as if you have been battered and fried. You literally will smell of grease for hours, if not days, after you leave here. It is not subtle at all. So, if you need to stop here, it is best that you make it the last stop on your trip. One visit I attempted to get a sweet tea here and was disappointed. Another visit I needed an item behind the counter. It's a bit annoying how the employees feel interrupted when you need an item from behind the counter. The self checkouts are a convenience, not a reason to avoid your job. read more

Ordered a piece chicken tenders and got 2 piece then was told it was charged on their side but not the customers. Asked about my the sandwich I ordered ac was told it was canceled because the deli is closed. The machines let me order it and there's no signs saying when the deli is closed. The customer service is really lacking here!!!! I came in at 10:30 on Tuesday December 12 there were two employees Brandon and Shy. I personally didn't have any issues other than not receiving the jalapeño cheese that I ordered on the kiosk but hearing the way they talk to and in front of the customers is more concerning. Brandon was extremely unprofessional on multiple occasions during my nearly 30 minute visit and his attitude is not one for retail/customer service. I overheard him telling a customer "I think I just hate n****s", referring to the last customer he helped that was giving him a hard time. There is a kiosk to place your food order and you have the option to customize what you want. He hollered across the store to ask a customer what she wanted on her sandwich and she simply stated that she checked off everything she wanted on the kiosk. He walked from behind the counter and approached her near the candy aisle to ask her again to verbally tell him what she wanted. After placing my order I was told that the fries would take 6 minutes because they were about to drop them "right now". The fries didn't get dropped until he finished making the customer ahead of me's sandwich 6 minutes later which is why I stayed in the store for as long as I did. He told Shay while garnishing the sandwich that the fries were already prepped and they just needed to be dropped. Why weren't they dropped on your way back to the sandwich so we could both be taken care of in a timely manner? I was NOT the only person standing there waiting on fries. A friend of mine said they wanted to pay cash for some candy and Shay's response was, "you don't have a card?" I don't think either of them want to be there. I was heading up to the Linganore Wine Festival and my group was all bringing something and I volunteered to bring some chicken! It was a good choice! I really like the self check-out registers here! It's some of the best friend chicken, a convenience store, and a gas station all wrapped in one. What more could you ask for and guess what? It happens to be the cheapest gas prices in a 20-mile radius so its a win - win situation. I seldom eat the chicken and to be honest I'm new to the whole royal farms phenomenon. I'm from jersey where you get gas and a hoagie. The facility was very clean and everything was fresh and new. It's right off the main highway and the only thing I found annoying was the fact that there was only one way in and one way out. read more

The chicken isn't that great and the people that work here are rude. I came in this afternoon and the female clerk was screaming at a guest over $4 of gas that someone else used and didn't pay for. The male clerk said next time just use your card to pay outside in a shitty tone. I was paying cash and the last time I was in this store the self checkout wasn't taking cash so I got in line at the register and the male clerk screamed at me to get to the back of the line. Which there wasn't a line there were 2 men at self checkout who were leaving. I don't want to sound like a Karen but something needs to be done with these peoples attitudes. read more

Please do not waste your time nor your money, I purchased a 10 piece family meal I don't want to be unfair I was extremely disappointed with the chicken, it had absolutely no seasoning on it none at all not sure if they trying to save money. I don't know what the logic is behind not seasoning the chicken. It add insult the chicken was dry however they did toss in a free bottle of tea with the purchased. read more

I just came for the chicken and potato wedges. Since the pandemic, it was great to see the protective technology measures of a self check out at a gas station. However, pre-pandemic I preferred humans for economic reasons. I guess these are the times for now. Three piece breast and wing with potato wedges as a shared meal to snack on with the hubby. A local friend said we should try the gas station chicken and to our surprise, the thorough seasoning of the slight crispy breading was a delight. It reminds me of KFC Original Recipe BUT not doughy and mushy as KFC tend to be. FYI- I am a Popeyes fan. The breast was juicy and the wing meat fell off the bone. The potato wedges was the disappointment of all. The plain batter of the wedges made us feel we can taste the flour as it was dry and not seasoned. There was color but not sure if it was even spice but maybe paprika for color. Definitely a good stop in a scenic road trip to get out of the house. read more

I typically love Royal Farms and hate to complain BUT this new spot is missing the point in convenience I have visited a couple times and have been made to use the self checkout register !! I personally hate feeding machine with cash , I just want to hand my money to clerk and move on but not this location also one time I actually got a clerk she hands me a bag so I can bag my own canned drinks !!! This morning I make way to Royal Farm to get my coffee. This location is new maybe two months. I also load Royal Farm rewards app on my phone ready for the purchase. I get my coffee head to checkout scan my rewards with my phone and processing on the screen. The clerk says I have to reboot the computer we wait. He wants to check me out at his station so he tries to scan rewards on my phone and of course his scanner does not work. I give up just a checkout please. This time I can't press numbers on the keypad for debit card. It finally works and I am out the door with about 12 people waiting to use the 3 self serve checkout. By the way at any given time only 2 are working. The crew are not ready for prime time. read more

I come to this royal farms frequently because it's in my neighborhood, maybe 2-3 times a week. Typical convenience store, the food is ok. I have had issues with my orders in the past but it's a gas station, what do you expect never really nothing where I felt I needed to leave a review. But after tonight, I will not come back. Just like the other recent posts, the workers attitudes are terrible. The light skin woman who has been there forever always walks around like she is mad at the world, I asked her politely a simple question, how long till the chicken was done? just to decide if I should go sit in my car and finish my conversation on the phone or sit in the store and she rolls her eyes and walks off to check. She always has a nasty mug on her face when you walk in, it's so unpleasant and unprofessional. If she doesn't like her job, go get a new one! I always go out of my way to greet the workers and treat them with respect and I expect the same when I'm spending my money at your establishment . Corporate needs to get these people some customer service training or hire new people. I won't be back! read more
