We went for the first time last night. The theater definitely does not look like it should be as big as it is from the outside! The seat were worn with time, covered in laughter, tears, screams and hoorays! They were comfortable. The price for a ticket definitely reasonable, especially with a Military discount (thank you) the popcorn tasted fresh and not like it was heated under a lamp for a day or two. The staff were friendly and professional. Plus they play this old timey commercial about themselves which is cute. It is also located on Main Street so you have great places to eat before and or after as well as grab a drink from Mead, a beer, or signature cocktail. read more

Took my daughter and grandson to see a matinees. Awesome theater, clean and the seating was excellent. This old timey theater reminded me of the ones I went to when I was growing up, very nostalgic. wish we had ones like this here in the South. read more

Great cozy theater. For three of us to get three drinks, two popcorns, candy, and admission was around 42 dollars. Little cheaper than your bigger theaters. At first, I was nervous because we were in the small room and when the previews started it was soo loud my son and other kids had their hands over their ears while the lights were still on. When the movie started it was corrected and we all enjoyed the movie. Bathrooms were nice and kept clean. read more

I love independent small town theaters and Royal Cinemas combines the best of Main Street charm with modern amenities and great value. There's not much to the theater -- no box office, just a concession stand, one large theater and two smaller theaters -- but they make the most all they have. The tickets, food and drinks are reasonably priced. The theaters have obviously been upgraded recently with comfy wide leather seats, ample leg room, awesome sound and digital projectors. The staff are friendly and the entire theater is kept immaculately clean. I've never seen a move here at a peak time (e.g. Friday or Saturday night), so I've always been able to get a good seat and enjoy the movie in comfort. read more

This is a nice small-town cinema. The tickets cost less than what you'd pay in DC, and the concessions are about the same. The seats look pretty new and are quite comfy. I also like that they seem to start the previews before the feature's listed start time, so you don't have to sit through all of them just to get to the film. The sound system is not the latest and greatest; I found the dialogue to be a little hard to pick out sometimes, so if I went again I'd definitely sit closer to the screen and center speakers. All in all a nice place to end your day after exploring SNP or hitting up local wineries and such. read more

It's nice. Very small, but nice. Bathrooms are clean, so are floors (which is a rarity for movie theaters.) There's one big room for the big blockbuster and two much smaller ones that seat about 50 people max each. There are usually for smaller films or less recent films. There's nothing really awful about this movie theatre, it just seems a bit lifeless and small. Not a bad movie theatre, but I just thought I'd let people know what they were getting into. read more

Charming small town theatre. I love it! First time here and it took me back to the small towns I grew up in. There's only 3 screens and they show 3 different movies at all showtimes. Prices are excellent, snacks are fresh and the theatre is SO CLEAN! I was expecting kind of grubby for how old it is but it was so nice. We'll be back over and over again. read more

Having relocated from the DC area to Front Royal and many movie trip's to the Arundel Mills Mall in Maryland this place is great. It's a small town experience which I think we have all lost track of how great it is. We use to head to the movie's an hour and a half plus a head of show time just to get a good seat. We now have the same distance to get to the theater, we leave 30 minutes before show time now, get great seat's, don't have to worry about parking, and you don't feel you are riding the METRO SYSTEM to have a great night out. It's so funny when it comes to parking, we always end up parking on Main Street right in front of the theater. After the movie, we grab a beer at the Front Royal Brew House. Great staff at both places. I recommend at the Brew House a flight of tasty beer's and the meat and cheese platter as light fare after the movie. read more

Took the kids to see a movie Sunday during the opening weekend of the film. I took the kids around 840pm. We ordered a drink and popcorn the girl at the front taking our order was rude and you can tell she didn't want to be there. Her body language was ridiculous and she rolled her eyes more then once too. Anyway, about 915pm i went to the front to get a refill of our popcorn and EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED DOWN AND PUT AWAY. If there were still customers in the theatre why have everything shut down and put away? Very bad experience all around. read more

My favorite place to see a movie! Aside from the fact that I'm supporting a local business (which is HUGE), I love the feel of the movie theater itself. It's comfortable, always has the newest movies and the staff goes a step beyond friendly. Most of your larger theaters are so impersonal and usually not very clean - not so at Royal Cinemas! I've never seen a bad movie or had a bad experience here. read more

A step back in time with a modern twist. The charm of a small town theatre with updating. Everything was clean and the seats offered modern comfort. The ladies restroom was clean and you didn't stick to the floor in the theatre. It is hard to complain about the ticket price and you can purchase online. There wad a small online surcharge but to be expected. We can't wait to go again. read more

Great home town theater. Nice staff, clean and not to expensive. It has one big theater screen, one medium screen and one small screen that will sit 50 maybe. All the high rated movies are in the big theater. The concessions are fresh. Go check it out. read more

The reason I love this place is because you can go to opening night of any movie whatsoever and not have to buy tickets ahead. Show up when the movie starts and buy your ticket. The place is never jam-packed -- every row in the theater will have seats available, so you can sit pretty much where you want. It's cheaper (and much cheaper still with the coupon on the back of Martin's receipts) than the Winchester theaters and no waiting around. Clean interior and seats are as comfortable or better than the other theaters. read more
