We've used this service 3 times in the 6 weeks we've lived in Bakersfield. It's the only company I found that would come to our house in the NW corner of the city--they say they'll go anywhere. I was amazed when they charged only $10 for 1 mile ride, given that it probably took the driver 1/2 hour to reach our house.
Once the taxi actually arrived, we have had only good experiences and we'll keep using the service. The problem is the terrible dispatch system. Apparently there isn't a full-time dispatcher, so sometimes someone answers, sometimes they don't, sometimes you get an answering machine (and don't get called back). My wife tried several times to book a call, and felt she was treated rudely when she finally got through to someone. It took more calls, one taxi that arrived an hour early, another call to repeat the address, and finally the taxi arriving 15 minutes late. We plan to get the business cards of the drivers and try contacting them directly instead of going through the "dispatcher" if we can. read more
