Beware: this place serves authentic Indian spice! No option for mild (they start at medium) and I was lowkey dying. But portions and flavor were good and tasted fresh. You know it's the place to be when all the other customers were Indian. read more

A $20 Refund Shouldn't Take Weeks to Resolve We've been ordering from this restaurant about once a month for the past few years, but unfortunately this experience was enough to make us stop. I placed an online order, and when I arrived to pick it up, I was told they couldn't fulfill one of the dishes. I was assured the $20 difference would be refunded through the online portal. I called the next day to follow up, but the restaurant's phone number, 832-437-4847 routes to customer service. They said they would contact the restaurant and call me back. No call. I called again a week later--same response, and again, no call. The third time, I explained that I had already called multiple times. The representative PROMISED to call me back. Still nothing. After spending weeks following up over a $20 refund, I've decided it's simply not worth any more of my time. It's not the $20--it's the lack of accountability and follow-through. After being a regular customer for years, they lost a customer over a $20 dish. read more

Their menu is different than what they give. Shahi paneer is not supposed to be shredded photo shows paneer pieces and they gave me shredded paneer. This is wrong. When I called they just told me this is how they make. Very disappointed service. Never going back. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share this experience so the restaurant can improve and future customers know what to expect. We visited for a birthday lunch after seeing many advertisements promoting this restaurant as a destination for authentic biryanis. When we arrived during lunchtime, we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Looking back, that should have been a warning sign. Since we wanted fresh food, I specifically asked the person taking our order to recommend the freshest biryani available. He suggested the Chicken Dum Biryani along with a chicken appetizer. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The biryani was mostly plain white rice with chicken masala mixed in, and the chicken pieces looked like they had been prepared earlier and simply mixed into the rice rather than cooked together as a traditional dum biryani. More concerning was that the food did not taste fresh. It had the flavor and texture of leftovers that had been reheated. We ended up leaving nearly three-quarters of the biryani untouched. The chicken appetizer was overcooked, slightly burnt, and much too salty. We shared our feedback politely with the staff, paid our bill, and left. Since we were still hungry, we stopped at a nearby Indian grocery food court to finish our lunch. Another disappointment was that the restaurant's restroom was unavailable because it was "not working." Overall, we spent around $40-50 and left feeling disappointed. My biggest concern isn't whether a dish is perfectly authentic or the best tasting--it's that customers deserve fresh, properly prepared food. Freshness should never be compromised because it directly affects both the dining experience and customer health. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves. Until then, my advice to other customers is simple: if you walk into a large restaurant during lunch and you're the only customer, you may want to think twice before ordering. read more

Had a party of 18 and we were very well catered to. Brought special drinks for the kids. Ambience was casual and family friendly. Our server was very kind and service was fast. Good was exceptional read more

I went here with some friends and the food was amazing! The servers were extremely attentive and always made sure we were doing okay which I was very appreciative of. The restaurant was also quiet and had a pleasant atmosphere which made the experience quite enjoyable. The appetizers were excellent and the Biryani was truly exceptional! Overall, I cannot recommend this place more and it was a great experience! read more

Sent an online order in about 10-15 minutes before I got there. It said a little longer than that to get my food no big deal. I ended up sitting in the front of the restaurant for another 45 minutes waiting to get my food along with another guy who was there before I was. There was 3-4 different guys working, no one seated and eating so no idea what the hold up was. The biriyani sadly was pretty mid tier but not the worst I've had. I think if they had given me an update as to why it took so long it would've made the wait a little better. read more

Love this place, its not the biggest when it comes to tables ans everything, but their outdoor seating opens them up more. The workers are kind and will edit your dish as tou desire. The food is delish! I've had the gobi manchurian, which is crispy and full of flavor with amazing balance of the sweet and savory of the indochinese sauce. I've also tried the goat curry, which is spectacular with its delectable tender goat and delish flavoring, it is a little sweet for me so i ask for extra spicy and they make that burn!! i also tried the chicken 65 biriyani which is super yummy! overall im not a big fan of the rice in the biriyani as i think it's a tad sweet? but the chicken 65 masala mixed into the rice makes it perfect! love this spot! read more

Royal Biryani House - Butter Chicken Biryani Family Pack Comes with butter chicken and rice 2 sauces - Indian Near Me - Katy, Texas

We used to order from here and the quality was great. Prices went up recently and the quality has suffered. Smaller, watered down mango lassi; the palak paneer that only had 5 small cubes of paneer in a 16 oz container. Just disappointing. Our last order, we spent $160 (including tip) for poor quality food. The biryani was mostly basmati thrown on top a few pieces of chicken. Overall, just disappointing. read more

Love this place. Great food. Quick service for pick up. Anytime I get my order there are always orders being picked up or ready to be picked up. Never ate at the location but it looks well taken care of and clean. Prices are right. Portions are reasonable. Only wish is the spice was a little more consistent. One day 2 star is perfect heat. Next time it's non-existent. They get the spice on track and easily 4 star. read more

I just had the Lamb Biryani and the flavor was amazing! One of my favorite dishes here is the Chicken Tiki Masala. You can ask for mild, medium or spicy in every dish you order. This is the best Indian food place that I have found. The service was great too! read more

I always saw this restaurant and I was skeptical. I never thought such a suburb place would have good and authentic Indian food. BOY WAS I WRONG. This was DELICIOUS. -Saag Paneer: 8/10 so good. Nice kick of spice for mild, so beware! Nice and creamy with lots of flavor. - butter chicken 6/10: chicken was a bit dry but lots of flavor! -garlic naan 10/10: nice crisp with lots of flavor!!! Wish I ordered more When ordering, they make it fresh as you order so be patient. The servers may frustrate you due to language barrier, but I promise they mean well and it's worth it! read more

This is our second time eating here. Each time we have ordered something different and each time every dish was GREAT! the food is fresh and tasty. You can order to your spice tolerance. We noticed they do a lot of carry out orders in family sizes. read more

Overall Rating: 1.5/5 * Taste: 2/5 * Service: 1/5 * Ambiance: 4/5 * Value for Money: 1.5/5 * Portion Size: Inconsistent * Style: Casual Indian Dining Royal Biryani House has taken a turn for the worse. They no longer offer the specials that once set them apart, and the regular menu lacks the same quality and flavor. Service has declined significantly--slow, inattentive, and disorganized. Orders take longer than expected, and even basic requests are overlooked. With better options around, there's little reason to keep coming back unless they make serious improvements. read more

Don't forget to log in with Yelp when and get your discount. I ordered the Butter Chicken with medium spice which was delicious. Also had an order of Nan which was also good. This is a small location with great service. The portions were generous enough for me to get a to do box. The eating utensils were made out of wood which was different but not a problem. Definitely a place that I will be coming back to. read more

Everything we've had here is great but the Biryani is, without a doubt, the BEST biryani you're gonna find anywhere in Houston period.

Good food. Nice to have an Indian restaurant near us. It is pricey though especially if you are used to paying for Indian buffet. Three of us spent about $120. But it's clean and open late. read more

We ordered the coconut chicken, chili garlic naan, garlic naan, butter roti, chicken tika masalla, and the sweet corn soup. The food was delicious. My husband said his CTM lacked flavor though. They ran out of the butter roti so i was sad i didnt get to try it. We ordered on a Saturday evening and it took over an hour to get our food. The service was extremely slow. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 for this reason. I would ve willing to try this place again but definitely not on a weekend. read more

Just relocated to the area and was craving some quality masala and decided to try this place....definitely did not disappoint! Absolutely amazing quality and quantity of food! The best masala's and samosa's!! read more

We have been regularly ordering at this place everytime we crave indian food because their food is good however, today their food changed the taste and most of all the amount of meat in it. We ordered two buttered chicken and it BARELY had any meat in it, 5 SMALL CHICKEN CUBES in each tub! Thats a rip off what a disappointment! It was all just sauce! Definitely not right to serve your customers that way especially regular ones! Never again! Not coming back! read more

Food is always fresh and tasty. They have different varieties of biryanis from spice to mild flavors.

I love this place! The service is great and the food is yummy. They adjust the spice level to my liking. Can't stop eating here.

overall good. we ordered the lamb biryani, butter lamb, and garlic naan. the garlic naan was super yummy. the butter lamb was pretty spicy even though i asked for it not to be spicy. it tasted good but nothing exceptional. lamb biryani was fine too. if i were to come back i would get takeout - i don't really know how to explain it, but the ambiance was awkward. read more

This was the first restaurant we ate at when we moved to Katy. With a comprehensive Indian menu with tons of biryani options, this place has definitely become a household staple for us. My only complaint is that recently they started charging $1 for bottled water and there's no other option which was a bit off for me. But other than that, glad to have this place to devalue good Indian food in Katy. read more

We came here because of the review... but it was the worst mistake ever. The food took over 45 mins to come and when it did it was just the butter chicken masala. The rice and garlic naan that we ordered with it didn't even come out. The butter chicken had a few pieces of chicken. There was nothing special about the butter chicken and it was all just sauce; might as well call it butter masala. We were at the hour mark and no lamb biryani, no rice, no garlic naan. So so disappointed. The worst part was another table was sat down after us got their food before us! I definitely do not recommend this place. The food is mediocre and the service was horrible. read more

The food was good, but the cook does not understand the concept of medium spicy. Considering that was the lowest option and it burned going down (and coming out). They need to make some adjustments for us wimpy caucasians. 5 for quality. 2 for following to go instructions on the heat. read more

This is so much better than their predecessor at the same location. I think we get more food and much better tasting. Would def recommend. Fair warning, even the mild spicy had a bit of zip to it. Thank you! read more

Bad food, disappointed, had good food from them in the past, but this time food was very mediocre. Ordered a togo today 25-may-24, ordered Chicken Tandoori, kadai chicken, shahi paneer, paneer 65 biryani and gobi Manchurian. Every thing was bad, should have picked with other place. Chicken tandoori was so dry seemed like completely over cooked. Kadai chicken had foul smell, literally had to throw it. Shahi paneer was Ok, paneer 65 biryani was ok too. Gobi 65 was sweet and tasted very bad. Rarely had this bad food. Will not go with them in future read more

Work-in-progress restaurant. Went there on a Saturday night for dinner at the end of September'23. Still no liquor license. Still serving food off of plastic/recycled stuff for ease of disposal. Food was pretty good, but disappointing in some respects - a lot of bones in the goat, little or no vegetables in a vegetarian biryani order. Service is pretty bad but not rude. TV screens mostly frozen on one image or playing Bollywood stuff. My recommendation - give it try for take-out only. This seems to be most of their business anyway. We will try again in the future as it appears to have some promise, but too early to call it a good place. read more

Delicious food. Best malai kofta I've had in the Houston area. They will make according to your level of heat (spicy) tolerance. Just one suggestion: give a little more attention to your customers. You should check on them a few minutes after they've received their meals to make sure everything is okay & to see if they need or want anything else. No one checked on me even once. Improve on that one thing, and you're gold. read more
