I figured that I would change barbers at the same time and get some fresh input on what might work. ASH was nearby and their atmosphere as presented on their site caught my eye. I scheduled an appointment with Colin and on my first visit he thought that my current hairstyle was appropriate, and suggested I see what he could do with it. Needless to say, I was impressed. This was easily one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten, the beard grooming I had for the appointment was excellent as well. I've had 2 visits now with Colin, and the second cut was just as good as the first. In addition to the excellent work that Colin has done, I absolutely love the atmosphere of the shop. My late grandfather was a barber and the vintage chairs and other equipment brought back memories of those he held on to and passed down to my mother from the shop he opened in the late 1940s. I'd definitely suggest anyone considering it give American Shave House a try.

After getting turned down from other "barber" shops in the area I called Ben and he fit me an hour later. As for the shop itself, it's not the sexiest place but I wasn't there for ambiance, then again I'm not saying a little dressing up wouldn't hurt. The chair is old school and comfy. I sat down and Ben went to work right away with hot towel to lotion and foam to straight razor saving. Included in the process was a light face massage. He knew what he was doing and it showed. The only thing I didn't enjoy so much was they lotion used to massage the phase was very heavy on the menthol so it irritated my eyes for a bit but once outside it was fine. All in all a great under $20 experience. I would go back for another shave and maybe next time I'll get a haircut as well.

My brother recommended Rodney at Glenside Barber Company and I was not disappointed. I found my new barber. Rodney is professional and very friendly. He cuts my hair the way I ask and he takes his time to give a great cut. This is no rush haircut like I was used to getting where it seemed like the barbers were more concerned about getting to the next customer instead of providing a quality haircut. The shop is clean and has a great look. I also like the ability to make the appointment online. I can see what's available and works for me. Also, I never end up waiting. I show up for my appointed time and I get my haircut. No time wasted. There is a lot to like about Rodney and Glenside Barber Company, but the reason to go there is for the great cut, friendly service, and superior barbershop experience.
