Without having an appointment for a local barber, or somewhere a little more personable I figured this would be my best bet since they don't require appointments and show wait times online. My expectations coming in were quite low. As soon as I opened the door all the energy I was expecting from the outside was gone. Low lights, a dirty floor and an elderly flat screen TV playing fuzzy quality golf greeted me while I waited the 5 minutes from my check in to sitting in my chair. The whole time I was waiting I couldn't get over how soulless it felt. Forced conversation from one "barber" in the corner over came the silence from everyone else cutting hair matched with their miserable faces. No smiles, no personality, the whole place lacked life. When it was time for my haircut I was pleasantly surprised with how kind and personable the lady who cut my hair was (I think her nametag said Dee?). I sat down, she explained the "VIP Package" and since it was my first time that it would be free. Okay. I explained what I wanted and she understood it well and did an okay job. When I got home I noticed that she had missed a few strays on my undercut that I had to have my wife fix, but far from the worst haircut I've ever gotten, but also far from the best. She cut my hair, and then said we'd be doing the VIP part of the package. She washed my hair even though there was a distracting young man watching youtube videos through the cracked door in the dimly lit VIP area who would occasionally get up to sweep when someone had finished. The shampoo was good, and she even added some tea oils which felt awesome. I can still feel them in may hair 8 hours later. The massage was meh. She essentially rubbed my back with a $50 corded massager after I sat in a tired and worn massage chair for the shampoo. For what it was, it was fine. Would I ever come back? Not unless it was my only option like it was today. I just wish walking through the front door didn't feel so soulless. I wish it felt like the employees wanted to be there.

If you like, you can call ahead to see how busy they are, but in general the wait is only a few minutes. A bonus is that Buddy's Barber Shop is located in "downtown" Langhorne Boro: the hardware store is next door; a coffee shop and a FNB Newtown bank branch is down the block; the restaurant-bar at Langhorne Hotel is, as well. It's only about a 10 minute drive.. he's open Thursdays still I believe which is one of the days I happen to be off plus it's only $20 per cut without even a tip requested and my hair is shaped very well after letting it grow out for a week or two.. (I get a #6 on top and #1 on the sides and the back..) The other customers there the day I happened to be there where a little on the older side but other reviewers have mentioned he is known for having a mixed crowd so to speak. There were three chairs in the shop but I believe Buddy is the owner and he happened to be the only barber cutting hair when I was there.
