I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see a show, even though I thought it would be too early to…read morego-around 9 pm on a Saturday night. When they heard I was an English speaker they did a few jokes in English, which was nice. The performances were high energy and good vibes. Nice to have a drag king in addition to the queens. And lots of Rihanna-great beats! The audience was in a good mood and friendly. No meat market feel-also no other singles that I saw when I was there. Everyone appeared to have come with friends or on a date. The place was full, but not oppressively so. As I was leaving it was getting more crowded with a line outdoors and at the entrance. I didn't expect to see as many women as I did too-a nice surprise. The audience felt straighter than I'm used to in a gay bar in the States: 2 bridal showers when I was there and several male-female tables I assume were couples. Kind of gave me a spectator feel rather than being strictly "family," but on the upside it was very welcoming of everyone. Enjoyed my rum punch. I was surprised that they cashed me out after my first drink...maybe that's standard in Quebec? I'm used to running a tab and likely would've stayed later and ordered a second drink or food if that had been the case. I was surprised at how big the place was. People were both seated outside and in another room I saw on my way to the bathroom. The restrooms are down the stairs and then up a short flight, which I imagine can be tricky in high high heels and a tight skirt once sloshed. Go before you have your first drink It's a great time and place to visit-whether queer (like me) or just appreciating the glitz, glam, and talent of the performers.

Walking around Quebec City, we decided to grab a drink at Le Drague. We are not big on drag shows,…read morebut the bar is a gay establishment that we wanted to check out. Le Drague is multi-function..... a cabaret, a club and a place of entertainment for shows, trivia, karaoke, etc... Got a few beers, enjoyed people watching. It gets busy late at night, but we were there at non peak hours....

Hidden away subtly next to the well regarded L'Orygine restaurant is a place that takes things into…read morea unique direction: using all Canadian ingredients to prepare finest cocktails and food. That means, no basic ingredients like citrus are used. That's basically telling the bartender they cannot make 99% of cocktails in mind and have to take risks to make something tasty happen. That concept in itself is a recipe to create things that will be genuinely and authentically Canadian. In other words, experimentation at its finest. Opened in 2024 by the team behind Quebec City's only 2 Michelin starred restaurant, Taniere, this is now the spot to be for those in the know. So, how is trial and error going of crafting something genuinely Canadian? Cocktails are superb on both taste and presentation. The food is remarkably plated with extremely high quality ingredients. Everything tastes excellent. If that's not enough, the entire interior looks like a very private club and the team of servers and bartenders is superb and welcoming.

A speakeasy, with an outdoor deck?! Came here to rest my feet for an early dinner and drink…read more Unfortunately they were out of the drink that most caught my eye so I ordered the Vieux Carre, which was a spirit forward drink similar to a less sweet old fashioned. I also hadn't had a charcuterie board this trip yet, so splurged on one here. It came with three types of cheese, three types of meats, two types of pickled onions, traditional cucumber pickles, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, an onion puree, a mustard puree, and bread. First off, I appreciated they actually provided the appropriate bread-to-other ratio. I feel like normally you run out of bread while eating a board but I actually had bread leftover with this meal! The cheese and meat were good of course, but I want to make a special call out to the onion puree, which was like condensed French onion soup, and the cucumber pickles, which were some of the best pickles I've had because they tasted so fresh, like they had just been brined. All of this on a deck looking out towards the river. Stop by here after late afternoon cruise with Croisieres ML across the road to continue enjoying the river view! Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - limited street parking nearby - several complex mocktail options available. I wanted to try one so bad but I was too full for more!
