I was quickly greeted by a member of staff who got my signature and disappeared to get my prescription. I normally would leave and come back but it seemed kind of quiet so I just had a wee look around. The chemist stocks the usual stuff - makeup (Rimmel) and vitamins, as well as more unusual things like magnetic bracelets (pretty sure these do absolutely nothing) and some pretty nice jewellery. My name was called after a few minutes and the pharmacist gave me some good advice about taking the antibiotics ("have them with a sandwich or biscuit") which I thought was really cute and added a nice wee touch to the whole thing. While I can't see I'd go out of my way to return here, I would definitely pop back while in Giffnock.

I've popped in here countless times for travel sickness tablets, panadol, nail polish, water, gaviscon (reflux is so sexy right now), snack - you name it, I've probably been here to buy it It's a small store but there's a pharmacy counter, makeup, food and lots of other travel essentials. I also get my doctor to deliver all my prescriptions here and they are always ready when I go in, and I find the pharmacists on duty are always friendly and helpful, despite being rushed off their feet. Keep in mind that the pharmacy part does close for a lunch break so you'll need to go off and sit in Costa or something if you need it the same day. I also got face cream here for my friend's Mum and the lovely Boots lady behind the counter was careful to warn me that it was for "older ladies" and that I was too young to be worrying about such things. Gave me a good laugh. All in all, a decent Boots and one I return to frequently.

Like many other chemists, it does struggle a little to match the prices of the supermarkets for the products that used to be their income- hair gel, shampoo and the like, but this shop does have an interesting range of fragrances and just about enough home first aid material to make it a one-stop shop. Being quite a serious store- the adverts on the counter are for diabetic products, a subject that the staff seem to know very well- it lacks many of the alternative remedies that are so common. Apart from it being my local chemist, it is a good place to pick up anything medical, as they know their stuff and work rapidly.

I would normally pick up painkillers from the nearby Tesco or Co-Op but was in need of something a bit more substantial last week and picked up some over the counter medicine in here that sorted me out. They also do prescriptions and are open on Sundays which is decent. Friendly wee place.
