Inside, the shop is fresh, clean and shiny and doesn't feel stuffy like some pharmacies. I have always found the staff to be very approachable and knowledgeable whenever I have visited with an ailment and they give great advice. As well as pharmaceuticals they also have a small range of cosmetics, hair care products and health sweeties which I enjoy sifting through when I am waiting to pick up a prescription. I was quickly greeted by a member of staff who got my signature and disappeared to get my prescription. I normally would leave and come back but it seemed kind of quiet so I just had a wee look around. The chemist stocks the usual stuff - makeup (Rimmel) and vitamins, as well as more unusual things like magnetic bracelets (pretty sure these do absolutely nothing) and some pretty nice jewellery. My name was called after a few minutes and the pharmacist gave me some good advice about taking the antibiotics ("have them with a sandwich or biscuit") which I thought was really cute and added a nice wee touch to the whole thing. While I can't see I'd go out of my way to return here, I would definitely pop back while in Giffnock.

I just needed a prescription so didn't see the point in trekking to The Avenue. Rowlands is a small pharmacy and it was totally dead inside on a Monday at lunch time (which was good for me as they did my prescription in 5 minutes). I find the range of stuff stocked here to be really strange and I'd guess that 1/3rd of the shelves are weight loss products which I find a bit off-putting in a pharmacy. Aside from that, they stock the basics that you'd expect a pharmacy too, but keep in mind that it's small and you might be better off going to Boots or Superdrug at The Avenue. In the past, my husband came here to get a prescription and he had to get that at Boots as they didn't stock what he was after. So it can be hit or miss.

A fantastic little life saver of a shop hiding in plain sight on Argyll Street…read more This bodacious and bijoux wee Boots has a prescription collection service for the very close by Radnor Street Doctor Surgery and has really 9-5er friendly opening hours. The service is so so friendly and efficient- always on hand to answer questions and genuinely the quickest prescription turn around I've come across. This compact little shop manages to pack quite the pharmaceutical punch! There's a surprisingly large selection of No7 cosmetics with everything from lipsticks to legends like Protect and Perfect. There's an impressive array of medicines, toiletries, hairbrushes, accessories and all those important day to day products like shampoo and shower gel, hairspray and dry shampoo. Really worth remembering this place for last minute holiday purchases or if you run out of a night out necessity as well as providing most day-to-day essentials.

And I hit the jackpot getting a small jar (48g) of Vicks Vaporub which can go in my carryon bag on the flight back to California, and accompany me on future plane trips.
