Folks were friendly and helpful. I purchased 4 bushels of great quality apples for drying. I plan on returning soon for more apples.

Englewood Farmers Market - Plants in green houses

Englewood Farmers Market

I've been coming here for 8 years. This is my favorite place for fresh produce and plants. Things…read moreare marked non gmo and they have cheapest prices in the area. Customer service is always friendly and place is kept very clean. The ingredients for baked goods are marked very clearly for the allergy sufferers.

Listen, it's a regional Mennonite store that's mostly like a few others in Tennessee. A few minutes…read morefrom town by car. A few more by buggy, probably. Decent parking. I'm told it's very busy mid morning on Saturday. It is surrounded by gorgeous farmland. Some of the produce seems to be shipped in, which is fine. It's ripe, beautiful, fresh, and delicious. That's not even what I loved the most. The prices are better than almost every corporate grocer in town, but that's not what I loved the most. A place like this would probably have an odor if it wasn't cleaned well and often. The only smells here are fruits and veggies. Oh, and Basil! And that's not what I loved the most. They have homemade canned goods like jams and jellies and sauerkraut etc. Some honey and plants and at least 12+ varieties of tomatoes. One batch looked like Cherokee Purple. Others were striped and heirloom varieties. No green zebras, but so many others. Here's why it's 5 stars: There are 2 registers (cash only) which face one another and a walkway between them to enter and leave. While we were being rung-up on a busy Saturday afternoon, I was fortunate to hear the conversation at the register behind me. I don't know what prompted it, but the gentleman at the register said, "we give credit to first-timers if you can't pay, and we won't let anybody go without produce." Yep, instant loyalty and this was what I loved about it the most!
