Since this is a service that you can actually perform yourself (you don't need to be an attorney) the only question you need to ask yourself is: "what is my time worth?" One way to lower your property tax is to show that your home is worth less than its assessed value. You can do the initial research online in just a few minutes or ... you can hire Noel Wisegarver to do it for you. You will pay them 50 cents of every dollar they are able to save you on your tax bill, so its "found money" for you, and found money for them, as they are "almost guaranteed" to get a tax reduction due to their knowledge of the process, and persistence in filing appeals. The reason none of these companies charge an upfront fee is because it is unknown exactly how much the tax reduction will be. With this type of percentage fee structure, "pay us only if we are successful" a revolving door of repeat customers is created year after year from those willing to give it a try, with no upfront obligation. But make no mistake, the obligation will come, perhaps even a year later. I did do research of similar companies that charge less for the same service (30 cents of each dollar they save you), but my experience has thus far been with Wisegarver & Associates and it has been favorable. One note I may add, if you have any questions about their service, comments or complaints, you should ask to speak directly and only to Mr. Wisegarver himself.
