Complaint 1: Poor Customer Service at Charlottenburg Branch I recently had my second haircut with Motoki, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. I was explaining how I wanted my haircut, but he insisted on cutting it his way. I even mentioned that no matter how good his cut was, it wouldn't matter if it wasn't what I asked for. His facial expressions were unprofessional and dismissive. At one point, he went to the reception and brought another staff member. While I was talking to this person, Motoki suddenly tried to stop me from speaking. When I questioned why he brought him if he didn't want me to talk, he denied bringing him in the first place, which was confusing and unprofessional. Additionally, when I tried to show him which clipper length I wanted, he warned me in a rude manner not to touch his machine. The overall customer service was extremely poor, and I felt uncomfortable throughout the experience. Complaint 2: Booking Mismanagement at Prenzlauer Branch On another occasion, I mistakenly booked an appointment at the wrong branch and went to the Prenzlauer location. The receptionist acknowledged my mistake but kindly offered to reschedule me for an available slot 45 minutes later. I appreciated this and agreed to wait. During that time, I saw a barber I had previously gotten a haircut from and liked. I requested to have my haircut with him, and both the receptionist and the barber agreed. However, when my turn came, I was suddenly assigned to someone else. When I questioned this, I was told that the barber was now busy because another appointment had been booked online. This was frustrating because I was initially told I could have my haircut with him. The receptionist's attitude during this interaction was dismissive and rude. His facial expressions and tone made me feel like he was saying, "Just shut up and get your haircut; I already helped you." This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially for a loyal customer. Final Thoughts You can check my customer history--I am new in Germany and have been coming to your barbershop every two weeks since I arrived. However, these negative experiences, from the receptionists to the barbers, have made me feel unwelcome. This is not how customers should be treated. I am deeply disappointed and, as a result, I have decided not to return to your barbershop. However, if you address these issues and improve customer service, I may reconsider in the future. Came in here based on other reviews, and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is friendly, easygoing, and just plain fun. Stillian is a master at what he does. He collaborates with you, but basically knows what you need before you do! Really helpful getting my beard lines correct, and the hair wash, hot towel experience makes you feel like you're in a spa. I just moved to Berlin and started looking for a new Barber Shop to try out. I have been living in Germany for over two years now and have had really poor experiences with Barber shops in both Munich and Frankfurt. In fact, it got so bad for me that I generally only get my hair cut when I am traveling to the states for work or to visit family. I think this is partially a language barrier (the German you need to know to speak about the specifics of a haircut is not simple) and also an issue of difference in style and trends between cultures. Traditional German men's hairstyles just aren't really that creative and as a service provider I don't find barbers to be at all friendly here. That being said, I have now found my barber shop! All the staff were super welcoming and friendly, the shop itself is chill, clean, well decorated, and feels like a place you would want to hang out (the way a barber shop should). Everyone speaks English, and based on their staff I believe they can accommodate several other languages as well. Rami, my barber, did a fantastic job. I showed him a few photos, he explained how he would make a few modifications to the photo I showed him based on my hair and hairline, and then he gave me exactly the cut I was looking for! I also had a beard trim which came out great as well. He was friendly, professional, and I really go the feeling that he loves the job. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars, I will definitely come back and would refer my friends to go as well. read more

By chance, I found myself in need of a haircut when visiting Berlin in May. I did a bit of research and Rowdy Barber Shop seemed like what i was looking for. It had good reviews and looked like the type of barber shop I am used to in San Francisco or London. They also have a well designed and informative website, which some other barbers did not. It was a short walk from our apartment in Mitte. I made a reservation over the phone with Szizian, who speaks great English (a necessity for me as my German is very limited). I was pleased when i arrived at Rowdy. Szizian and the other employee were friendly; good music was playing; and they welcomed my wife who waited for me while I had my cut and shave. The shop was well stocked with quality products. Szizian cut my hair with great skill. He was incredibly fast with the scissors - quite fun to watch him work. He also gave me a great shave. For the hour our so he worked on me, I really enjoyed talking with him. He is one of the most skilled barbers I have met. My wife said this is one of the best haircuts I have had, and I completely agree with her. I strongly recommend Rowdy and Szizian for locals who want a true men's barber haircut (not a stylist) and of course visitors to Berlin. Do yourself a favor and also get a shave. It is really relaxing and at the end you will feel like you had a great facial treatment. read more

This shop is an oasis in the busy city of Berlin. You truly pay for a compete experience with when ever you make an appointment her. I staying in Berlin for a week as a vacation and I thought it would be a good idea to get a cut from a local shop. I am more than satisfied with this decision. You can make an online booking where you can chose your stylist and see in real time his availability, so you can also chose the time you want to go. Also, the types of haircut (normal haircut, beard trim, full shave etc) are specific to the stylists, so you'll know in advance what specialities each one has. There's also a short bio for everyone which will give you some idea on their experience. The staff is very friendly and professional. My haircut turned out better than I actually expected. DO NOT USE THE ONLINE BOOKING FEATURE IF YOU WISH TO BE SEEN AT THE TIME YOU ACTUALLY BOOKED!! I booked a beard trim at 10am for the Prenzlauerberg location and upon arrival was told that the appointment was somehow booked at the other location, despite having been explicitly clear about booking at that location. The man working at the desk even admitted that their booking platform sometimes messes up the appointments and offered to do the trim at 11. I guess their clientele is the kind of people who can wait around on a Monday morning rather than keeping up with their own schedule and appointments. How a business can run like this will remain a mystery to me. Additionally, all in all the trims from them last couple of times weren't that good. read more

From my experience, this place is trying to affect the hipster swagger, but falls was short on skill and technique when it comes to delivering a quality haircut. The experience was strictly amateur-hour, and I was left with a mediocre and insipid cut. The "barber" ignored my requests and served up a bog standard cut. Best beard trim EVER. I'm from the states and was visiting Berlin, got a beard trim with hot towel. First off, everyone at the establishment was super friendly, they provide drinks/beer along with your cut. Sorry I forget my Barber's name (I have a name in mind but don't want to mention it in case I get it wrong), but he defined my beard to perfectly suit my face, everything was in proportion and symmetrical, no barber ever gets my stache right and I almost always leave the barber feeling like they didn't get it quite right, but here it was perfect. Felt so good with how it came out when I walked out. Got girls turning their head so you know its a good cut ha. He also provided me with recommendations to places I should check out in Berlin, and I did and it was amazing (I was blown away by the murals and art in Kreuzberg). I didn't actually check beforehand what the price was so when I questioned the price I can tell he got a bit offended. Rightfully so, he's a master at his craft and worth the price. Super expensive....especially for Berlin. I normally go to a great barber shop in Barcelona which provides full service in an upscale, hip environment and it all just costs €13. I have had many hair cuts from European barbers when I visit Europe. I wanted to find a quality barber in Berlin, who has experience in cutting hair. Rowdy Barber Shop is a cool barber shop with welcoming staff, nice location and they serve espresso/coffee (which I respect). When I got in the seat, I told the barber what I would like done in detail, and I showed him a picture. With new barbers, I know that they have their own style and way of cutting hair. I did not want him to push my hair line back, which is my biggest fear with any new barber. I asked for a low hair cut with my temples faded, and my beard shaved. Let me remind you, I also told him I did not want my hair line pushed back. The barber here did everything I asked him not to do. He cut my hair lower than the picture I provided, he messed up my hair line by making it uneven and pushing it pass my original hair line (double negatives), and he didn't fade my temples. Also, I received a clean shaved beard. I thought he did this right until two days after the hair cut my face broke out (both my face and neck). I don't know if it was the hair creme he used or his technique, but my hair, face and skin is messed up. I would never recommend anyone to go here. Do not let the cool ambiance fool you. The barber shop is over priced for below basic work. I repeat do not go here for anything! read more
