I was at the courthouse for Jury duty. I spent the entire 8 hours reading a book and listening to…read moremusic. I was welcomed to the courthouse by the extremely "friendly" security staff. They got the job done through and ensured everyone was safe going into the building. I was very disappointed that the drink machine was out of order when they had advertised online that you could purchase refreshments in the waiting area. Towards the end of the day, I did find out that you can leave the waiting area to purchase drinks and snacks from vending machines on another floor. They really should have posted a sign indicating this information on their broken vending machines. Although I did not get picked to be on a jury, I enjoyed sitting in a comfortable chair and reading my book for 8 hours. Hopefully I don't have to go back soon.

Came here to get some official copies of some documents. I will say the process of getting the…read morecopies, then going downstairs to pay, then coming back up to get the document is a bit of a nuisance. If the civil file office had a way of receiving card payments for copies, this would've been a 5 star review. Overall, decent staff. The cafe on the first floor is nice too. The guy who runs it has great customer service !

She allowed me to explain my reasoning for the date change and asked me to allow her to go and speak with the judge/magistrate to see what the possibilities were. I have to give a huge thank you to you and your staff for making my visit so pleasurable. You didn't make me feel like I was bothering you or your colleagues at all. No one enjoys going to traffic court, but this experience went better than I could've expected! I…read moregot there for 9:40 (had to be there at 10 and had no clue where to go), I went through security and they pointed me where to go from there. Like standing in line at a bank and I had only 3 people ahead of me. First window is the DA, who took my info and dismissed the case. Then I slid over to the next window, where the clerk noted the dismissal on record. Then I left! Whole thing done in 20 minutes, and I was even able to park for free in their lot. Good experience and hopefully don't have to go again!

There are six courtrooms, only two with a decent amount of space. On certain days, like traffic administration court, there are over 1000 people on the docket for one court room. And that does not include the entourage most people bring along...their kids, their significant others, their brother-in-law's cousin who took a criminal justice class through Phoenix University and just looooves Law & Order SVU. People overflow into the lobby and adjacent hallways, loitering around and being noisy. The Assistant District Attorneys have developed a great system, and they do their best to maintain order in the face of chaos, but it is no easy task. Additionally, courthouse security, provided by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, only has one metal detector. So there is one line, through which everyone except card-carrying employees must travel, and they require that people take off their belts, jackets, and sometimes their shoes. As you can imagine, when you have hundreds of people coming to court at the same time, you can have people lined up all the way through the front doors. The deputies do a nice job of moving people through efficiently while still being thorough and keeping everyone safe. Hopefully, you will have no need to come to the courthouse, but if you do, don't come on a Friday--just a tip.

While the facilities are a little..... antique, everything is clean. More important, the clerks are knowledgeable and VERY kind and patient. Actually, everyone I've encountered here is. If you need to come up here, be on time for court, bring all documents relevant to your case, and be patient and kind. Courts are slow. We're pursuing justice here.

The building houses the County Superior Court and County District Court of the 27th Judicial District. There is a massive parking lot with the nearest parking reserved for various county officials and law enforcement. I was able to find a spot not too far away considering the building was secured for the day. Easy to walk the grounds and see the power of this massive structure. When Gaston County was formed, the county seat was in Dallas and the first courthouse was built there in 1848. It burned in 1874 and was replaced with the second courthouse in 1876, which is still standing and today functions as the Dallas City Hall. The county seat was moved to Gastonia in 1911 and a third county courthouse was built. It's still standing at the corner of North Gaston and West Trade. There are few ethical judges and lawyers in here. My ex Robert Vaughan jr can do perjury and…read morenothing happens. He is above the law. My experience is that the judges allowed perjury, fabrication, and forgery. There is no justice and only few are good and do their job like they should. They are so shady now they won't allow phones or laptops in and this happened during my case because they know they are doing unethical and doing injustice. They are oppressing innocent people and children. They don't want any of this leaking out. My ex was doing child endangerment and still did nothing. They allowed kidnapping and rape also. There is no justice. It is very sad how it's not about evidence anymore it's about bias judges. Not all are biased I can't say it for all but, the ones I dealt with were. They called me out saying cop is offensive and anytime they try to make a comedy out of me when you think judges will be civil and mature not in my case. Wade Carpenter a lawyer is unethical he harassed me and my children and interrogated us and he won't follow a court order either. I suggest leaving this state and getting far away or find a national lawyer because you won't get a fair trial. 20% chance you might get a neutral judge who actually isn't biased and not a sellout.
