DO NOT LEAVE YOUR BELOVED PET AT THIS HOUSE OF HORRORS!!! My dog went in for a routine grooming, an hour later I received a call saying there was an "accident, his tail was caught in a grinder." When I picked him up the story changed to "his tail was shut in a door." Our senior mini doxie had to endure emergency surgery to amputate 3 inches of his tail due to their negligence and no one knows for certain how this happened!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!

I was new in town. On my first visit I explained my dog was old and has arthuritis and needs TLC. Great groom first two times. Third time they called me to come get my dog because she was "flailing about" and got a bloody nose. I was told they did not have time to deal with her noncooperation. When I arrived to fetch her, she was combed out and only her face was shaved. She had blood on her face & chest. When I got her home I saw two nicks of skin on her neck were bleeding, not her nose. Initially felt bad about my dog's behavior. Now, I am very upset with the way they treated my poor old (16yo)dog and how the groomer was so rude to me when she called me to come pick her up. So, if your dog has no problems, you'll get a good groom here. If your dog needs any special consideration or care, maybe not so much.

My aunt has been taking the fam dog here for years. They have always done a great job and she smells PHENOMENAL when she returns and has the cutest little bandanas or bows. The staff there is always polite and professional and the decor is adorable. Did I mention they have cats to greet you and roaming around for some snuggles? Thats pretty cool. No experience on the boarding, but seems like a cool, clean place. The little monster always seems happy when we drop her off and pick her up and that's what means the most! We'll continue using Rovers retreat :)

Here is the gouge. Pretty hard to miss. Is this the work of a "Master Groomer"?

We are relatively new to the area and used this place three times. The last time our dog was returned after we paid and he had a gouge in his fur. When I called back to find out what happened I was told by the owner, Melanie, that "well, I didn't just wake up this morning, look at my calendar and decide to screw up your dog's grooming. It was an accident! It happens!" No offer of an apology until I asked for one. Charged me full fee of $95 and suggested that, if I wasn't happy with that she would cancel our next appointment and I could never return to her shop. Wow! So, we found another experienced groomer, Stay & Obey ($75), and I called and cancelled. Beware. She has and attitude and doesn't like to be held accountable. If she treats people like this I can only imagine how she treats the dogs when no one is watching.

This is what happened to our poor dog. Can't believe a professional groomer did this knowing the risk of shaving a husky without permission

I take my dog in for a nail trim often and they always do a very good, professional job. She comes out happy and tail, wagging every time.

I was nervous to be away from my fur babies, and worried they wouldn't know what was going on. Let me tell you, they LOVED IT! How do I know, because their smiles on their faces in their daily photos told me so. That made my mommy heart feel so good knowing they were having the best time, even though momma wasn't around. It really put my mind at ease knowing they were being taken care of, loved on, spoiled, having play dates with friends, and tucked in together for the night. It truly is an amazing place to take your fur babies for the day, or even to kennel for a vacation like I did. You won't regret it and your fur babies will enjoy every minute of it. It's a win-win for fur babies and momma. :) Thanks Camp Critter Country for taking great care of Cooper and Bohdi. They cannot wait to return and see all their friends again.

This place is ADORABLE, and is so homey and comfy!…read more Thank goodness for Southwest Michigan's Superbook, because without their awesome coupons, I never would have found the Crate Escape (buy one, get one free day of doggy daycare)! Their main room has rugs, chairs, and sofas for the dogs to lounge and rest on, as well as plenty of room for them to socialize. We boarded our Coraline there for a few nights once, and periodically bring her in for a day of daycare. For overnight boarding, they have private areas for dogs that range in amenities. Some will have their very own personal seating area, and bed, or there are also crates for them to sleep in if they need that. Coraline LOVES this place. As soon as I let her out of the car, she starts lunging for their front door. When she gets home from a day of daycare, she goes off to a quiet corner to nap right away, which I take to be a good sign because hopefully, that means that she wore herself out having fun with her little furry friends there! We've been to other places in town, but like this one the most because it always feels so warm and inviting. Two warnings: 1) They require reservations for day care and boarding. We were told the last time we dropped her off that they wouldn't take our dog for daycare again unless we called ahead of time (obviously, we didn't know about the reservations-only policy because no one ever told us about one before then), and 2) it's CASH ONLY, which is a pain because I seldom have cash on me. Luckily, there's an ATM at the Walgreens down the street. (The website doesn't list much information, AT ALL, so call, or stop by to grab some informational sheets from them.)
