Don't bother. These guys aren't interested in getting you your drugs. They don't even know how to…read morebypass a pin at checkout. If you are transferring from another pharmacy, their stock answer is "We haven't received that yet." If you call on the phone about a prescription, they can only give you the run-around telling you about prescriptions you don't have. Perhaps they function better as a marijuana dispensary because they sample their own product. The store is primarily set to sell ice cream. I've never gone to their fountain. Maybe they're more competent at that.

See that soda fountain over there? Grab something bubbly and maybe one of those giant pickles, and take a look around. A historic building that once served as a Doc Holliday gambling joint, Plaza Drugs owns A) a curious collection of Lego structures, built by one of the owners, including a scale model reconstruction of the building itself, Lego-ized; B) benches and furniture used to film the "Roswell" television series -- and I think Longmire's filmed there, too; C) Plenty of collected merch and instruments from years' past, including a tremendous display of old school medicinal supplies, like mortar and pestles, scales, boxes, etc. A fascinating time capsule, here's hoping it survives another century. Oh yeah, and it's still a pharmacy.

I always try to support small, local businesses but must say it is time to move on. When you are running out of a prescription and your doctor calls it in ample time to be filled you expect it to be ready. My Doctor called mine in over 1 week and as of this writing it has not been filled. The "pharmacist" disagreed with my doctor saying they did not receive the refill order until I walked in to pick it up-in which case it was not available until Monday. I just left there and was told to come back after one! I hope there are others out there who have better success in refilling, filling prescriptions with Nambe Pharmacy in Santa Fe. I do wish them much success and maybe they could turn it around. It doesn't hurt to be pleasant, courteous , and friendly with your customer service.

This was the day of a weird surprise snowstorm in Santa Fe that essentially shut down traffic downtown at our "rush hour" - it took nearly 30 minutes to drive what usually takes 5 through the storm. I made it to the store just before closing time. The pharmacist then informed me that although I had received a text indicating that my prescription was ready, and I had dangerously driven during a storm to access that prescription for my urgent condition, the pharmacist had only filled half the order. Apparently, he took it upon himself to disagree with my physician, and provided two different lies as to why he would not fill the prescription. So - if you need to depend on a pharmacy for reliable medical support - I would not recommend relying on Nambe Drugs in Santa Fe for anything other than Advil or chewing gum. The pharmacist's behavior was probably illegal, but at the very least incredible disrespectful to me, my safety, and my prescribing doctor.
