This was the worst customer service experience renting anything. The owner Jefferey was completely…read moreunprofessional handling this situation. He incorrectly double charged me. Then continued to denied a refund time and time again. Making a bigger hassle over something so minor. Placing blame everywhere else but just not on solution. Back and forth over $4.39. After returning to the store. I was told by the owner "it's not worth my time" and "I've got better things to do" Obviously, it means something to me if I've gone through all of this hassle for it. That was honestly the point where I lost my cool at bit. This owner did absolutely nothing to try and remedy the situation at every turn. Except push blame on the bank & push me to customer service after returning. My time & where I spend my money matters. And so does anyone else that reads this review. We all deserve great customer service when spending our hard earned money anywhere. No matter the amount. The issue was finally resolved by U-Haul Corporate Customer Service. I do not recommend renting with this owner. I definitely feel he didn't care about my issue.

I went in to rent a moving van to finish moving my things out after divorce. There was a line and…read moreI was there a long time. They had rented a vehicle trailer to a woman even though they don't carry those at this particular location and that was holding up the line. I received my key with no instructions other than to go to the parking lot and pick a van. I came back in because I could not figure out which van the key went to. He handed me another key. I went back out. Once again, NO IDEA which van they go to. I go back in. He comes out with me and scolds me because I did not "match the number on the key to the van". I told him he never explained that to me. He tells me it should have a full tank of gas. It does not so I go inside to tell him. I take the van and receive a text message that I should have a specific license plate number, it does not match. I call customer service and give them the correct license plate number and amount of gas in the tank. I did have a nice experience with customer service. Then I returned the van. The same rude man from before tried to charge my credit card $8,269.71. I owed $160. I received a fraud notice from my credit card and called them. Then I called U-Haul. It was supposedly a mistake. How on earth can you accidentally ring up $8,269.71 instead of $160. Make it make sense. Each time I had to call customer service they were nice but the amount of mistakes and rudeness of the store employee made my rental experience unsatisfying in an already difficult time.

I was a bit shocked though when my truck only had 1/4 of a tank of gas upon pickup. That did cost us valuable time in having to put gas in the truck immediately plus a guessing game as to how much to put in. Next time I will be sure to get a truck with a full tank. Everyone was great in working with us I would recommend to anyone.

Everybody and their mommies told me to go to a U-haul because this is the most reliable place to puchase one. So I whipped out my handy dandy yelp app and found this spot which is the closest in proximity to my house. This massive place is actually located in Detroit,, just outside of the Lincoln Park border. It's big, lots of space and storage plus the customer receiving area is very nice. There was a few people ahead of me and it was morning time at the time when I went, so there was only one person handling us. When it got to my turn, the lady sold me my tank, filled it up with propane and paid. Stuck the tank in the back of my car and off to my house I went. Easy as whatever yo. Procuring the propane tank made me a very happy camper. I got to fry buttermilk brined turkey. Brung it to my cousin's house who was hosting for turkey day and life is definitely super awesome. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!
