Top: Cupcakes had the texture of wheat bread. Bottom: Saints cake was delicious on the inside.

My wife ordered a cupcake cake with the Unicorn image and an 8 in round cake with Saints logo. Upon arrival for pickup the images were on the wrong item. We were told to return and 1 to 2 hours to pick up remakes. They were designed as requested, yet the Saints Cake's craftsmanship and handwriting was HORRIBLE. While Distributing cupcakes to my daughter whom birthday it was and her friends the cupcakes were hard as rocks and very porous inside resembling the texture of wheat bread. I would suggest selecting a different location for any baked goods. There are too many Rouses to gamble with this incompetent location.

Your don't know how happy I'm jumping for joy to finally have a Rouses close to my house. I usually have to travel 25 min to get to one so I end up going to Walmart which I hate going to. Today was their Grand Opening. The newly built Rouses is big and clean and so many things in one place. I love their salad bars and grab and go station. My cashier was very friendly even though she was overwhelmed with so many customers in line waiting to checkout. The only thing I had a problem was the cart. It has a sensor so because of it being a Grand Opening, parking was crazy and I had to park on the side of the building and it literally stopped on me and I can't push it back ...lol

Very clean! Great customer service! It's been open for several months now and it's still in the same condition as it was opening day

This location SUCKS. Last three times I've wasted gas money driving here, I then had to drive to another brand grocer to shop!!!

I appreciate the wine and delicacies (née cheese) section as well as the fridge section here to Mid-City. I much prefer the parking in Mid-City to Uptown and that's a big deal, as in, even if I'm in the area and need to stop at WF for produce, oat milk, wine and nostalgia, I'll more often than not talk myself out of it because I hate that parking garage that much. The last time I stopped in, I had taralli on the brain and knew that I wouldn't likely find that at most Rouses, no less the far more conveniently-located food co-op that's in my neighborhood. And of course I found a decent variety, as well as a bunch of other goodies my regular Mid-City location does not have. Back to the parking lot. It's bad enough, people. At the very least, bring your cart back inside so that the next person doesn't have to move it before parking, which blocks the entire area and annoys the other cars waiting to park. You know this happens. Don't be that person.

This Whole Foods has a very unique location and this reused space does give it some nice unique qualities. This location used to be far better than the Metairie location in many ways but it seems the location in Metairie has started to surpass this location in many ways. They still have a good mix of local, organic, and non-GMO produce. They also offer lots of high carb and high sugar baked goods that most "vegetarians" and "vegans" seem to thrive on. Sadly the formerly excellent selection of cookies no longer exists and they now pale in comparison to what they used to offer. I do look forward to one day meeting a "real" vegetarian or vegan that actually eats veggies instead of most of the ones I know who basically live off desserts and muffins :) Parking is usually a painful experience here and it is DEFINITELY better to go in off hours as people act crazy about parking here. After Katrina I lived next to the Whole Foods flagship location in Austin so this is certainly a much less dynamic store but it usually serves its purpose. Ever since Amazon took over Whole Foods it simply just isn't as good as it used to be in many ways but you are able to get more deals, discounts and coupons. This is still the most unique Whole Foods I've seen anywhere but I miss the vibe it had before Katrina and Amazon. One last review of ONE Star for all the LAZY people that leave their carts strewn all over the place in the parking lot! If your going to eat healthy maybe take a few extra seconds of exercise to put your cart back and OUT of my way you rude, pathetic excuses for civilized creatures. It is the utmost in poor manners and you are probably the same douche bags that zoom in and cut people off to steal the parking space that someone else was patiently waiting for.

A few months ago they renamed it Budget Saver, but it seems to have mostly the same stuff. The odd thing about Budget Saver is that the prices on the shelf reflects the store's cost. When you check out, they add 10% to your total, as the idea is that everything is sold at Cost + 10%. The end result is that most of the prices for dry goods are about on par with Walmart, or just slightly higher. For most items it is cheaper than Winn Dixie, which makes me happy. I typically only come here to stock up on fruit and vegetables, as they do carry fresh produce at a reasonable price. I still prefer Rouse's for my big shopping trips to stock up on whole wheat pasta, random spices/sauces, and other things that can't be found at Budget Saver - but for a quick trip for must-have dinner items, Budget Saver is good. They also have a decent bakery section and a deli with some hot food items, but I have yet to try any of that stuff.

There is a feature that makes this a little different, they sometimes sell closeout items in bulk, like energy drinks, 2 for .88 or a box 'o corn dogs. You can order keg beer here too, but its not as smooth a transaction as Rouses. Lotsa open cashiers available everytime I come. Also has a growing Latin section....can you say JUMEX? I knew that you could.
