I called ahead and spoke to a woman who told me to come in on Thursday for an assessment class for my son. When we arrived (30 minutes early), I was told it was a misunderstanding, and he could only watch, not participate. I had already scheduled a babysitter for this, so it was extremely frustrating. On top of that, I had to ask multiple times to speak with someone, and when I finally spoke with the main coach, he was incredibly short with me, showed zero patience, and dismissed us without any real explanation or flexibility. For a business that works with children, I would expect much more understanding and adaptability. The entire experience was unpleasant, and I will not be returning or recommending this studio to others.

I've known about Trillo for quite some time, as someone I know used to go there and mentioned how much she loved it and was going for so many years. After manifesting and understanding that this is extremely necessary for my future career, I felt that it'll help me grow, be stronger, and build character. This academy fell nothing short of those expectations. I was pretty nervous going into my first class (which he offers as a free trial btw), but upon arrival, I knew I was right where I needed to be! Without knowing absolutely anything about jiujitsu or martial arts at all, Sensei Freddy made me and my friend feel right at home with his sense of passion for the art. Everyone that goes there have such good vibes, that it's almost impossible to feel awkward for not knowing what most of them already know. On the contrary, everyone helps each other out and have so much patience. I've been in the academy for a little over a month now and I can say that the money is 100% worth every dollar and I plan on investing a lot of time to learn and grow my techniques with everyone!

The bathrooms are never clean. Yesterday they were flooded; today they were just plain filthy. Nobody was around cleaning either time. You look up at the vents, and they're packed with dust -- possibly mold. The equipment is often covered in sweat stains, and half the time there's no cleaning spray or paper towels to wipe anything down. For what members pay, that's just unacceptable. Service is hit or miss. Most of the staff are friendly on a good day, but today the front attendant seemed completely uninterested. There's rarely anyone walking the floor making sure things are in order or helping maintain basic gym etiquette. Quality is decent -- there's a lot of equipment, and most of it works -- but it's chaos trying to find what you need. Weights are never where they belong, and no one enforces re-racking. You'll find a 50-pound dumbbell in the 10-pound slot more often than not. That kind of disorganization really kills the experience. Efficiency suffers because of all of the above. Between the crowding, the lack of cleaning supplies, and the "meat market" culture where people are more focused on chatting and flirting than actually working out, it's hard to get in, train, and get out efficiently. Value is average. The monthly fee isn't terrible, but given how dirty and disorganized this gym is, it doesn't feel worth it. South Florida gyms can and should do better -- especially one carrying the UFC name. Overall: -- Could be a five-star gym if it were maintained with the same discipline UFC represents. The management there seems really cool (I can't imagine they would be ok with this) but the last month or so, it's been going down hill. Right now, it's a 1-2 star experience at best.

The facilities is a very large 2-story commercial warehouse converted into a martial arts facility. It is full of exercise and martial arts equipment. The staff and the (Rodriguez) family that operate the facilities have shown exceptional hospitality and customer service. The quality of the senseis (teachers) are as well exceptional. All are black belts and among them grand champions in their specific discipline of karate, jiu-jitsu, kick-boxing, defense weapons, etc. They offer after school as well as summer school programs with transportation. Their programs stress the importance of discipline and responsibility to their students with consequences for improper behavior or disrespect. Advancement is based on merit as students earn their belts while qualifying based on their knowledge, in my child's case, of Karate. I strongly invite anyone to visit. They have a one-week tryout for your child in all the disciplines they offer so that you and your child may make an educated decision. They will also assist you if your child would like to take part in local and national competitions through USA Karate. I've observed from 3 year olds (adorable) to adults. Everyone is enjoying the experience.
