Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol

This type of fishing isn't available near Livermore but I was aware of the fishery around Redding and was also aware of the Fly Shop because of their worldwide fly fishing travel services. I called and easily booked a guide for a one day float trip on the Sacramento River. We drove up from Livermore and spent the night in Redding and showed up at the Fly Shop the next morning to meet our guide Shane. Although I own enough fly fishing gear myself to stock a small store I didn't want to lug it all on the plane but Shane provided all the gear we needed - rods, reels, flies etc. I asked Shane to focus on my grandson and he was a big help in upgrading my grandson's skills. He hooked numerous rainbow trout and landed a few which were carefully handled and released by Shane. It was a great day - a nice clean drift boat, a skillful and friendly guide, beautiful scenery, and a good lunch. I highly recommend

Overall, it's a great establishment and conveniently located right off I5 (exit at Churn Creek). I've taken classes with them, bought gear there and via their online store, spent many weeks in Bollibokka, and done a handful of guided trips. Overall, they are great, professional, stuff works, and the guides and reliably fun, adapatable (to anglers of different levels) and heck the Lower Sac is a dream fishery for a day float. Particular props to Shane who took us out yesterday. He was highly knowledgeable, fun, professional, and adapted well to one novice and one veteran angler -- with some great casting lessons thrown in during a few stops. Probably the best guide I've had on the Lower Sac and one of the best in Northern California. Only beef: their fishing reports white board in the shop is pretty reliable, but the online reports get updated much less frequently -- suggest just putting a webcam on the white board and all will be perfect.

It's a barn so naturally they do not have AC and just imagine having to be in wedding attire sweating everywhere. It was an unusually hot day around 110 so that did not help. I don't know if the venue or the wedding party paid to bring in giant water cooler fans (2 of them) which helped a little. As a guest I thought I was going to pass out. For this particular wedding they opted to have a food truck which was outside and partially under a shaded area. I did not see if they would be able to have food catered. If so I'd go casual and BBQ route. The restrooms were very nice and super clean thank goodness. The property itself is extremely secluded and off the beaten path. If that's what you want then go for it. The staff of the property seemed very slim to none and they did not seem to offer the usual wedding type assistance that I'm familiar with. Maybe this was based upon the type of package our wedding party purchased I don't know. Most of the traditional aspects of what you'd see for a schedule of events at a wedding did not occur. Beautiful couple , sweet ceremony and good to see family. Beautiful piece of property but limited for sure. Hope this helps.

Had a line of 3-4 people waiting to pay in front of us then my group of 5 to pay, when another group of 4 came in and the guy behind the counter decided to stop helping the people in line and help out the group that came in behind everyone. Once we finally got help from the guy behind the counter he would not let our group of 5 play together and split us into a 3 group and made 2 of us wait when our group of 5 could play faster than the group of 4 slow players in front of us. After we got done with hole 2 we shifted and played as a group of 5. My group seen and talked to the warden 3 different times why we played our game, he watched all 5 of us tee off and never said a thing. The warden on the course is chill but the guy working behind the counter has a power trip problem. After having that experience it make it harder to want to go back after that experience when there are so many other good courses to play around here that are not going to bitch about a group of 5 playing together. I played a group of 6 yesterday at Allen's Golf Course and they had no issues.

If you play early in the morning expect to not get as much distance as you would normally get. They have to water a lot in the morning because of the valley heat.
