I was somewhat satisfied with the car wash. However, my car wasn't as clean as I would've liked it to have been. The good thing was that my car didn't get scratched by brushes. I believe that they need to make the car wash go longer. I also went to this particular station because I needed to use the restroom. I went into the store, and the friendly cashier gave me the key to the outside bathroom. I walked out to the bathroom, and when I grabbed the door knob, the door opened without using the key. I was feeling a little anxious about someone opening the door while I was using the toilet, but that didn't happen. The person before me probably didn't close the door completely when they left the toilet. The convenience store was huge with lots of items to buy. Outside, there is air for your tires, and you can vacuum your car for a handful of quarters. I was impressed that they had buckets with water and windshield squeegees--I haven't seen very many squeegees at gas stations lately.

Valero is typically $.05 to .10 cheaper than the rest of the stations in town, and that's good when you're living on a budget. There's almost never a line and you have the Corner Store right there if you need road trip food like beef jerky, sunflower seeds, Pringles, and iced tea. You can also pick up firewood, windshield washer fluid and other assorted sundries as well. However at night this place becomes a hobo boxing ring. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen more than one fight between homeless people here. I'm thinking about selling tickets to watch the matches. This particular Valero's has a convenience store, and unhappy people that work there. We stopped to get gas, and walked inside to pay and grab a quick drink. The cashier was extremely unpleasant, and it was very clear not only was unhappy to be there, but he was clearly inconvenienced by us making a purchase. After we paid, we went out to pump the gas and the pump was not even ready for us to use. We had to walk back inside, and ask for him to turn the pump on. Literally standing there waiting for what felt like eternity, but was probably about two minutes or so until he decided to turn the pump on. No one else was there, so it should not of been an issue. The station itself is pretty basic, and snacks were at a minimum. The station was also fairly clean, as far as gas stations go. My issue at the station, was the attitude that the attendant had, and why it seems to go unnoticed. Clearly, he has worked there for a while and it doesn't seem to be an issue for management. As expensive as gasoline is, I certainly plan on going somewhere else, rather than spending my money in a place where it doesn't seem to be welcomed

In fact, my 240k-mile Subaru has been run almost exclusively on Costco gas thanks to the proximity of my work to a Costco Gas Station. Their gas is rated Top Tier™, and that isn't a meaningless proclamation, as TT means a higher quality of gas. Even Consumer Reports agrees: https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/fuel-economy-efficiency/top-tier-gasoline-worth-the-extra-price-a7682471234/ The Good: * Costco gas is almost always the cheapest in the area regardless of where you live. They intentionally run it at 20-30¢/gal cheaper than the market average because they use it as a loss leader. * One of the few Costco gas locations that carries diesel. * 5% cash back on the Costco Citi card is kind of hot, especially considering our gas prices as of late. The Meh: * No amenities here like paper towels and window washing equipment. Hell, you're lucky they even have garbage cans! * Members Only. But I mean honestly, does anyone in The Bay *not* have a Costco membership??? The Ugly: * The Santa Cruz station is priced 50¢/gal higher than San José gas stations.
