It's a standard 7-Eleven with the usual products. Came here to get water while on a walk. I got the Skyra brand Icelandic water which is distributed exclusively by 7-Eleven. It doesn't taste much different to other bottled water brands I've tried and it was (2/$4.50) with each bottle being 1 liter. The employee was very nice and it was a quick visit. This location also has a Redbox out front, which I haven't seen in a while since my local 7-Elevens removed theirs. read more

The employees here are usually crazy but they are quick and efficient. Even when they recognize you they usually still card you. I don't mind. There is always some kinda crazy action going on in front of this store during the weekends. The owner or store manager is a witch. She is absolutely terrible and nothing but rude to everyone. I hope you never have to deal with her. Just watching her talk to customers even, you feel uncomfortable and wanna leave without even completing your purchase. I wear a mask pretty much no matter what or where I go but I don't mind it. I understand people want that no mask feeling but at the same time I can respect the health and concern of the employees here who ask that customers still wear their masks. I don't have any problems with it but again, I wear my mask to take care of ME, not other people so much. I don't know how much longer people will be asked to mask up but either way, I get it. I know it's a huge issue. I have seen all kinds of crazy from the workers here too, I must admit. There are so many "rules" and things that are and are not "allowed." Hate that I'm writing a one star review just for 7-11 right now....... The lady at the front accidentally includes charges for the drinks the homeless guy in front of me couldn't pay for. I then proceed to point out hey, you included that dudes drinks when I paid for it after I swiped. She then says alright I'm sorry and told me she just refunded the whole thing. Then questions me when I said I didn't see you physically refund it, and then gets all defensive saying now I owe for my coffee and sandwich (so I pay twice). I ain't trying to cause a scene so I just pay again. The charge was never refunded to my CC. In addition the chicken sandwich I bought was actually a cheeseburger inside a chicken sandwich bag. Morning ritual, coffee, dog treats then head out to walk dogs. Yes, it's a convenience store but you'll find diligent employees taking pride in their work, like Holly. She restocks inventory, makes sure area is clean. This is a heavy coffee traffic 7-11, so staying on top of the demand is challenging and she does an exceptional job. GREAT WORK HOLLY!! read more

If I can give it no stars i will. i have seen people stealing from this store multiple times. I came in with my daughter and let the cashier know I was getting a bag of doritos with melted cheese. She automatically flipped out became very loud and rude and said that is not allowed. I explained to her I have done it last time and paid extra. Once again I am coming into my hometown into the 7-Eleven at Laurel and Chestnut. No price tags on anything on the shelves especially the ice cream and frozen department. SGB Single Girl Behavior Okay, so I don't mind driving aimlessly around for hours just to get a nice view and I also don't mind satiating a bad habit of mine. No. Not a joint. Or sex with a stranger. Or binging Roman style at a buffet. I'm speaking of Miika behavior: my usual cherry slurpee order and a bag of chile picante corn nuts. This is my usual rush in order at the local 7 Eleven when I'm down in Santa Cruz and attempting to fit in with the rest of the crowd here. A good range of nourishing food items for those beach bodies out here. Lots of chips. Donuts. Preserved food items. Fountain drinks. Slurpees. Even the hot dogs if one is so inclined. When I stepped outside, two ladies in North Face fleece stopped me: "Do you know how to get to Pacific Street?" I told her that I did not live here. "Oh, wow, you dress like you are from here. So we assumed you lived here." I smiled back and stated the obvious: "I live in the city. I dress like this so I don't stick out." And with that, the ladies started to laugh and I went about getting settled into my car and heading out towards the Boardwalk. My bikini top ribbon was waving over the back collar of my zip-up and my summer skirt tucked in, I could see why she thought I lived out here. Beach weather. Yum! read more

That's my first review ever. If I can I will give this store 0 star. I go to 7-eleven all the time, but I never see a place like this. The store look nice and neat, but the people who work there have a bad attitude and don't know how to deal with their customers. I went there today and I tried to buy 5 red bulls, 5 waters & pack cigarettes, the guy who works there full of tattoo asked me for my ID and told him I don't have my ID on me, but I have a picture of my ID on my iPhone. He said we accept real ID only. I tell him ok my cousin will buy it and he has his ID with him, he said no then he took all my stuff and told us to get out.. That's so stupid. read more

Two summers ago, I lived directly next to the 7-11 on Laurel. I was so close to it that I could even see the huge ever glowing 7-11 sign from the window next to my stairway, which became my urban nightlight whenever I needed to go downstairs in the middle of the night. This 7-11 is the epitome of the trashiness and ghettoness that is Santa Cruz. There are always inebriated crackheads, bums, gang members, hood rats, and dirty hippie backpackers that loiter in the 7-11 parking lot all day. The crime rate in this area is high and I've seen cops surround the 7-11 parking lot with their sirens and guns on multiple occasions. I guess there are still people who are dumb enough to rob a chain store that clearly has their security system worked out. Go rob a mom and pop store for goodness sakes. read more

I would say that 7-eleven has stepped it up in the last few years in regards with their coffee..so I totally agree with Tracey W. However I try to avoid this location on Friday and Saturday nights because the lines get long and the folks get antsy... kinda sounds like an old western movie. The one thing I want to say about 7-Eleven, and people think I'm crazy...is that I get my coffee here every morning. It really isn't bad. You get a 20 ounce cup for $1.39. Better yet, if you bring the cup back in you can fill it for 99cents. If you are like me and hate to wait in line for your caffeine mainline at 7:30 in the morning then this is the place for you. You can make it into a latte with their machine or add any of their syrups for no extra cost. Seriously, you can get the same thing for $1.39 her that would cost you almost $4 and a line at Starbucks. read more

I was just in this store and the young man named Gary Kleinsasser was the cashier working, we asked him if they carried a product and he said that " in California no 7 eleven's carry it" I replied that I was just in a 7-Eleven earlier in the day and they had it but it was fine that this store didn't carry it. He then said well that just doesn't make sense, I said well who knows other stores are selling it but you don't have it that's fine we're just getting this other thing instead. He seemed irritated and told us that if they sold the type of alcohol there in his store then he wouldn't be able to work there because he was only 18. I said well that's good that you can work here and that they don't sell it there. Then I asked him and this is a nice place to work right? He said no it's not nice. I said oh I'm sorry. At this point I realized that he didn't like where he worked and wasn't happy in his situation because he said he didn't like working there. So I tried to make light of the situation and called a taquito taco and said I wanted a few. Then all of our things that we wanted to purchase we're on the counter and my boyfriend pulled out $100 bill at this point it was about 65 to $70 of money that we were about to send which means that we would have gotten back about 30 or $25. The young man then said I can't take that it's $100 bill so my boyfriend said oh I'll go buy more stuff so that you won't have to give me so much money back. Then the young man named Gary asked me if I had had anything to drink (because I was buying a beer I'm assuming he was asking me that question) I said what?! then he took the beer off the counter by the register and went to place it on the counter behind him and slammed the bottle into the edge of the countertop then placed it on top of the countertop. Then I asked him in a light-hearted way wait have you had anything to drink? At this point a bystander came by who heard the conversation and said something like hey men the customer's always right and I asked the bystander to walk away because I didn't want the situation to elevate I just wanted to buy our product and leave that was fine with not buying a beer. I just wanted to have a nice night. Anyways I am not satisfied with the customer service that I experienced tonight at the 7-Eleven and I don't think that this young man should be working in customer service. Not happy read more

7-11, has almost any random thing you may need when you don't want to go far or when drunk. Open 24/7 which is awesome. The staff is pretty chill considering how many people come in and its down town location. If doing last minute beer runs be warned they tend to lock the beer door 5-10 minutes early. read more

While making a late night (or, umm... early morning?) munchie run, as I was juggling sandwiches, big gulp, pizza, candy etc... somewhere along the way, I lost a full pack of cigarettes. Okay... I smoked two, so maybe not a totally full, pack. But regardless of whether there were only two in it, or two out of it, I was in the beginning stages of nicotine withdrawal. So, things were about to get ugly, soon. I was certain that I had them when I entered the store. But, having not eaten all day, after that, things got a little blurry. I tried to remember if I could have set them down by the soda machine? Maybe when I was getting condiments, for my sandwiches? Or, did I dump them on the counter, when I unloaded my arms of my goodies? Since I had no nicotine coursing through my veins, it was difficult to think at all, let alone remember what I'd done three hours ago. And, wherever I set them down... what were the chances that they'd even still be there? But, it was nearly a full pack... So, even though I was certain the poor kid behind the counter (who appeared to be the only one there), already thought I was a jerk, after I asked him to bake me a pizza, at 3am. I decided before I shelled out another $6+ for another pack, I would prove to him that I wasn't just a jerk... but, a stupid jerk. So... I made the call and even though I could tell by the number of rings that they were probably busy, when I recognized the voice that was so kind to feed me a few hours ago, on the other end of the phone line, I blurted out, "Dude, I'm the chick with the purple hair, who ordered the pizza, a few hours ago... I can't find my smokes. I know this is a dumb question, but, have you seen 'em?" And, upon hearing the ridiculousness of my words out loud, I hung my head and waited for the laughter... But, wait... there was no laughter. No, sarcasm. Not even a heavy sigh... This angel (who I later found out, is named, Angel), politely said that, no... he was sorry. He remembered me. But, he hadn't found any cigarettes. But, if I would leave my phone number, after his shift, when the owner came in, he would gladly look at the video tape... If they were still there, he'd let me know. And, if they weren't, I would have the peace of mind knowing what happened to them- (ie I set them down, but, someone else picked them up.) Or, maybe I didn't leave them there & should keep looking elsewhere... WHAT?? REALLY?? Some dumb broad with purple hair comes in at nearly 3am & can't keep track of a pack of smokes. But, since she values, so much that she's willing to look like a jackass & bug you in the middle of your morning rush, with the hopes of retrieving them, when she knows she's got about the same odds as a snow ball's chance in Hell... and, not only did you NOT laugh her off the planet... BUT, you're willing to help? Brought tears to my eyes... no joke. May have even restored a little faith in humanity. And, the kicker?... This dumb broad didn't even leave her good for nothing smokes in the store. Five minutes later, she called her angel, Angel & told him she found her stupid cigarettes, in her dipshit laptop case, that was hanging over her jackass shoulder, the whole time... But, the willingness & extent, to which he was willing to help blew me away. Never missing a beat... he cheerfully said, "No problem! I'm glad you found them. Have a great day!" The people who work here are unusually nice. There's always music on and matches with your cigarettes and if you didn't know they are open all the time. Last year I came here to buy beer on a Friday night/ Saturday morning and the guy behind the counter was on acid. He was still friendly, and even more amazing, able to count. Place kills it when I'm trynna grab some coffee and a cliff bar to start off my day. Most of the staff know me on a first name basis because I start my day with some of that big energy b12 good good. Then I end my weekend nights with gettin some cold brew. All the staff are super friendly with me and generally really cool. Except one. The red-headed girl. Not only is she consistently rude, never greets, and has an overly loud singing voice regardless of the many faceless coffee drinkers like myself that are just trying to get in and get our shit without hearing an amateur symphony, but she has carded me about 50 times (given that i'm in there, no kidding, every day). Now I totally get that. You are doing your job. Do it. But after you've carded me for the bazillionth time. Maybe cut me some slack when i'm stumbling in half dressed with gnarly bed head just trying to get what I need before work and need some cigarettes. Did I bring my ID? No. Of f***cking course not. I'm not wearing underwear damn it. I just need my stuff so I can go on to have a good day at work. But that's too much for you isn't it? You need to see my ID EVERY damn time. Even though every other staff member in there probably remembers my birth date to the T. And even though you probably should too given that you've probably looked at my ID more times than any other customer you've got, no, you've still got to make my mornings awful.
