Wow, I was overjoyed by the service I experienced here! I was welcomed right away and decided to look at the menu. I saw a smoothie option with chocolate and peanut butter and another option with strawberry and banana. I asked if they would be able to make one with banana and chocolate and they happily obliged. What a cool building this place is in, it's the first thing you see when you drive into downtown Santa Cruz. A strange triangle it may be but they are pretty efficient at serving up fresh fruit smoothies and the like. A recent trip there found me slurping up a smooth and creamy-cold Orange Dream Machine. Orange Juice, Orange Sherbet, Frozen Yogurt, Protein Powder, and Ice, deliscious! It was a nice treat in the afternoon after lunch. Besides smoothies they also have fruit bowls including Acia and Veggie options for the drinks. You can also get Vitamin and Nutrient additions to some of their creations. As good as fresh can be. I have been coming here ever since they closed their location inside Safeway. I like the different smoothies and juice blends. My favorite is the Strawberry surf rider. The fresh ingredients really makes it delicious. For smoothies this is such a healthy place. They are very filling. I don't really go to Jamba Juice in San Francisco where I live. I've only been to Jamba Juice a handful of times ever. I thought it was so exciting and new in the 90s when my sister took me in San Diego, but now I don't really care for the chain. The brand is not stale, but it's boring. I waited 5 minutes because they were busy and I was a little bit early. When I go up to ask about my order I'm rudely told it's been taken to the back. When I ask why I'm told so they wouldn't melt. I really enjoy Jamba Juice and especially when there is a deal going on like national smoothie day or emails sent. This place only got 4 stars because of its location. It is sometimes hard to get parking close since it's all meter parking and the parking garage lots aren't too close by since it's near the end on the street. Also the prices have gone way up so not as much for your buck. I recommend signing up for their rewards program to get points for your purchase. 1 point per dollar you spend. Redeem once at 35 points and get $3 off. It's not the greatest deal but at least a discount towards your purchase. The staff here is friendly so recommend this location. read more

This location is right downtown Santa Cruz and one of the most convenient locations being there's so few Jamba Juices in the area--especially since the mission location closed! I've been here a handful of times and it is rarely backed up or crowded so you can usually get your shake and snack and be out the door within 5 minutes, which is always nice. My two favorite drinks are the berry upbeet (all fruit and veggie and still so yummy) and the strawberries wild when I want something a little sweeter (also has frozen yogurt so a little less light!) and I always like to pair my drink with one of their always delicious pretzels which come in Apple cinnamon (sweeter) and the parmesan twist (more savory) and both flavors are DELICIOUS! read more

The things is, Downtown Jamba Juice, we got off on the wrong foot. The first time I came in for my quick smoothie fix, your line was out of control. It was clearly a busy summer day, but your staff was exanimate, enervated, and just lackluster all around. Nobody greeted me as I came in, and by the time I got to the counter to make my order, I'd lost most of my smoothie hankering. When my smoothie did arrive, it was poorly mixed, lumpy, tasted bitter, and it looked as if one of the girls assembling smoothies was having a very bad first day on the job. I forgive her. You, Jamba Juice, are not off the hook. As I'm so forgiving, I've made return trips, hoping that your track record would improve, but alas, each time I visit, I'm left disappointed, or with a (literally) bitter taste in my mouth. Add to this the difficulty of finding parking if I want to come down just for a smoothie, or the fact that your hours are surprisingly limited, and it all just means that I'm really disappointed in you. So many of you are probably wondering, "If she lives in Monterey, why is she writing a review on the Jamba Juice in Santa Cruz?" Well....it all began....... .......last Friday. Because, last Friday I got my wisdom teeth pulled. Yep. All FOUR of them. Hence I am writing about the smoothies, staying in Santa Cruz and, more importantly, writing a review on Yelp. Smoothies are good for you because: A) They are made from fruit. And fruit is good for your body. B) If made properly, they will contain only the naturally occurring sugars found in Milk, Fruit, and the other ingredients (ie. yogurt, tofu, etc...) C) If you have four holes in your mouth, and four stitches over those four holes, and your cheeks are swollen (so much so that you resemble your grandmother...or Margaret Cho's impression of her mother...) then its the perfect food. Easy to swallow, easy to digest. Easy in. Easy out. Well, now, I'm not a super "health-freak"; however, I am against artificial sweeteners and, well, "fake" in general. Jamba Juice uses Splenda, also known as Sucralose. On the upside, it uses a natural food coloring, Annatto. So, I wasn't too pleased to find that out. Although, all in all, Jamba Juice is a pretty good place to get smoothies. Any of the All-Fruit Smoothies have less than 50g of Sugar for the 16oz size (and they don't contain Sucralose) and the rest of the smoothies (Functional Flavors, Classics, and Good Moo'ds) are pretty healthy. Just be careful when ordering a Jamba Light...Sucralose and a lot of Sodium. On another note, the parking is nil and they are a little under-staffed.... Oh yes, and Vicodin makes it very difficult to write a review because ones train of thought is nil. Just like the parking at Jamba Juice. I showed up to this Jamba Juice 30 minutes before closing time to pick up a smoothie for my brother who had just gotten out of surgery. As stated online and on the doors they were still far from closing time so I tried to open the doors and they were locked. I saw the lady working there poke her head out and hide in the back room after making eye contact with me. I then proceeded to try and call them 5-6 times to see if there procedures are different now due to Covid and are possibly only allowing pickup outside ?? however , they ignored all my calls as well, while I knew they were still in there !! Standard Jamba Juice, as far as I've seen, except the juice bar does not include items that are otherwise all over their printed menus and posters (lemons and cucumbers, for example.) The staff were polite, helpful and professional, so five stars for them. About one star for whatever disconnect allowed printed in-store materials that get you craving certain ingredients only to find out that they don't provide them at this location. The juice we did order was delicious. If this location stocks more of the juicing ingredients I'd be very happy to give them more stars. read more

First and foremost, the Jamba stores in Santa Cruz are franchised and not part of the main chain of Jamba Juice like the ones in larger cities (ie. San Francisco & San Jose). The staff are friendly and accommodating, BUT that is all. Service is slow and they look lost every time I order something from the menu... I've been here a few times and finally Yelping it now. The first time around, my drink was okay, but now it SUCKS. The blended concoctions are tasteless, bland and the like. I've tried both Santa Cruz Jamba juice locations, and guess what? Both weren't that great. Shoulda just went with a cheap soda elsewhere. They don't know how to make a Thank You Jesus, White Gummy, Red Gummy or a simple Caribbean Passion. Like wtf! I definitely don't recommend the Jamba Juices in Santa Cruz to be a place to go to on a hot day. It is healthy, but the taste will definitely make waste. read more

AMBIANCE: Lovely location. The space is also very pretty. It was quite quiet when I dropped in on a Saturday afternoon. SERVICE: Very friendly. I didn't have any issue with the amount of time it took to make my smoothies (less than 5min), but perhaps that was aided by the fact that it was pretty empty inside. They were very accommodating with my smoothie subs. FOOD: Tastes the same as other Jambas. OVERALL: Jamba smoothies hold a special place in my heart, and will always be a go to when I'm searching for a refreshing beverage on a hot day. I have been to this Jamba location once with a few friends, and didn't have any problems with my drink or service. Most Jamba Juice experiences end up being pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary. And I'll rarely ever come to any store during the winter. Nonetheless, this location is quite the downtown icon as you can see from the picture. I think I remember this place even having a bathroom, which is uncommon for most Jambas. My only complaint was I was trying to use my $3 off coupon on the mobile app. None of the staff knew how the app worked and no one could help me. Additionally, the staff mentioned many people have been having trouble but the staff was never trained on how the app worked.
