I have used Roto-Rooter several times in the past 5 years. This time was not good. The first techician's equipment didn't work as he said he just got it back from being repaired and had not tested it. The appointment was rescheduled, with no "I am sorry or an apology from the office, just asked if I wanted to reschedule! The second technician was better at least his equipment functioned. After he left we found leaks in our home. I called the office and asked for a supervisor to come to evaluate the issue. I was told supervisors aren't allowed to go to customer sights. She said I could have another technician come out! I said no I have a leak what else can I do, she said she would have a leak detection member call me. The work was done well however I feel somewhat ripped off. I was quoted 1 hour labor which is about what it took. I was also quoted $185 per hour. Fine. What was never mentioned was that they were sending 2 techs so it would be $185 x 2, $370. I would not have approved the work like that. I'll never use them again. Very shady. read more

During a winter storm, our kitten ran into the clean out drain and got stuck. We called Roto Rooter and without hesitation, they dispatched Jordan who got to us in less than 30 minutes. After digging and gaining access to the pipe, we realized the cat was further under the house. We thought she would come out after the shock of hearing the power saw, but Jordan wanted to make sure. He sat out in the cold trying every trick in the book to get her out. After more than an hour, another worker came to assist, using a camera to locate the cat. Once realizing she was stuck, they had to go on top of the house and use tools to dislodge the kitten from the pipe. When pulled out, the kitten was covered in sewage and not happy about it, but they didn't let her slip out of their grip and brought her to our front door. After all of their work, they stayed and repaired the pipe and covered the hole that was dug down about 4 feet. There was no way we would have been able to rescue the kitten on our own, and Roto Rooter did all of this with No Charge. Jordan was amazing and determined to rescue the cat. He was very patient, hard working, and kind. If we have any plumbing issues, the first call I'm making is to Roto Rooter. We will forever be grateful for their services. Ps. Roto Rooter was truly A+++. I would absolutely call them again if needed. Our kitchen drain was stopped up completely. I called RR first thing in the morning and they stated I'd be listed for a morning appointment. They explained their system: I'd get a call when a plumber came available, and if I was also available then he'd be dispatched; otherwise I'd go back onto their wait list. They stated a drain clean-out would be $194 minimum and could be more, depending on how the job progressed. Everything worked EXACTLY as they described. Indeed I got a call around 11 AM and Tyler (the plumber) arrived a few minutes later. He was friendly and neat, and didn't mind me watching and asking questions. I learned a lot as I watched him ply his trade and clear our drain. He was also very thorough, checking and testing in several different ways to ensure that not only was the drain clear, but that the clog hadn't just moved down the line. He also stressed a 30-day warranty if we had any further problem with that drain. I fully expected the bill to be more since it had been explicitly stated that the $194 was a minimum. But no, the bill was exactly $194! That was a great end to a fantastic experience with them. Would I call RR next time? You bet I would. They made a loyal customer out of me in one visit. We had a back up that ran through both bathrooms. After trying to do what I could, I knew I had to call someone. I'm new to the area so I looked for something with great reviews. I found Roto-rooter 107th Ave in Tulsa and scheduled an appointment. While I was at work Dylan came by to fix the problem. He was courteous with my wife and kids while I was away and was able to get things going again without entering the home. It's gets better. Two days later we have a clog in the same shower (but not all bathrooms) and checked if they wouldn't mind helping us out again. I was delighted to know there was a warranty with service and they would send Dylan out again. Expecting a long wait, I was surprised to discover that Dylan showed up at my door not 10 minutes later took a quick look, his associate and him fixed the issue and was done and gone before we got the text that he was arriving!! 30 years I have never seen that kind of response/fix time! The same plumber came out twice. The first he said that after he cleaned it out it should last a year. Then it clogged agars less than 7 days later and said it was broken the last time and we should have had it fixed . I called to talk to a management but the lady on the phone placed the blame on me and said that Jason would contact me (which he never did). AVOID AT ALL COST! After reading all of the great reviews, I decided to give them a shot. They provided no window of time, just a date. They called to say a technician was available. I missed the call & immediately called back (within 2 minutes). I got moved to the bottom of the list. When they arrived later in the day they unplugged my drain in less than 15 minutes. The bill was $175. It was on a weekday during daytime business hours, not some after hours job. This business is great but!!!!....they do not have an actual set time for when they show up to your home. I had to cancel twice because they choose to show up in the late evening hours when I'm not available. It's a pain when you have a plumbing issue and you called ahead of time for a scheduled appt and they decide to show up in the evening. We just moved into a 30 year old home on Friday. It had been sitting for a month + and so by the 48 hour mark, there was water in our bathroom floor and water overflowing in the garage drain. We called Roto Rooter at 9:30pm and we had a technician out at 11pm to help. The following day, we had 2 more technicians out to help further. The technicians on the second day were tremendous, one of which was named Blake. They were knowledgeable and professional - even patient while I provided my severely limited knowledge of plumbing and my take on what was wrong. The anxiety of buying a new home mixed with the potential of major underlying utility problems was enough stress for a year. Because of these gentlemen, they provided a peace of mind to know this issue is taken care of, and if it's not, they will be back to help. For this, my family is grateful. 4 star review instead of 5 because we were told someone would be out at 8:30am and did not get a tech out until 2:10pm. 1.I called them they never said a word about additional charges. Even the person that came out ask me when writing up the charge if it was mentioned. 2. The guy sent didn't seem to know where the problem was even though I told him where the overflow drain was. He was more interested in checking between the clean out and sewer. My husband had already done that!! Then he almost got it stuck!!! Then offered to dig my septic tack up . That's not where the problem was but he wasn't educated enough to check between the toilet and clean out. 3. Oh and it being obvious that me plumbing was disconnected at my sink he turns on my water letting it run all over my floor. How ignorant then tells me that's the problem. I told him no it was disconnected that's why we had the door open, tools and plumbing items. Not smart!!! 4. I received a $300 for nothing. I had used Roto Rooter before for my water heater and was pleased with my service and since they offer same day service I ultimately decided to use them again for my plumbing issue. I was not disappointed in the least. My technician, Brian, explained what he was going to do, gave me a quote, and when I gave him the go ahead he went to grab some parts and got to work. He turned what I perceived as a potentially very costly and timely job into a painless and low cost fix. He was fast and friendly and once again I was more than pleased with my service. Wish we had a better review to leave, however unfortunately, we scheduled an appt with Roto-Rooter a week in advance, on a Friday afternoon to ENSURE we could move out of our temporary housing we had been living in for 3 months following a sewer backup/disaster that led to our home having to be gutted and remodeled. At 4:15pm on Friday afternoon, after taking off the entire afternoon to ensure he could be present, my husband called the technician for an ETA. He was then told "we attempted to call you multiple times, however no one answered and will therefore not be able to come out until Monday of next week." We had no missed calls, no voicemails, and no emails.....they were also unable to prove the "calls". We were then told "we can come out tonight, however you will have to pay double the fee for our night service." So much for planning a weekend of moving without running water. Note to self, we will never again use Roto-Rooter, neither will any of our friends/family/or my husbands business partners....here's to lessons learned for not using a local, loyal plumber. read more
