I wasn't aware of this parks existence until I noticed a sign for it while passing the other day. It's tucked behind Ross Hall Hospital and the entrance is via a gate on Crookston Road right next to the hospital. There are a few parking spaces just inside the gate - two regular and three disabled spaces.
The parkland was formerly the gardens of the Ross Hall Estate (the hospital's red sandstone building was the old Ross Hall mansion house) and is heavily wooded, with flat grassy areas, a lily pond, a rock garden with paths that twist and snake through the trees, and a kid's playpark.
There's a long path running alongside the White Cart Water which connects with a bridge across to football pitches. Crookston Castle is nearby and signposted so you could easily extend a walk in the park to include it too if you wished. read more
