The atmosphere was beautiful, bright, and clean! Glow Juicery is just inside to the left for a pre or post workout treat! I love that everything is made right in front of you and totally customizable! I love ANYTHING with ginger and kale - Yummy! Erin was the instructor for my class - super friendly and knowledgeable. She gave alternatives for lower impact options when it came to the cardio section. I was really surprised at the intensity of the class given the small movement/range of motion. I am confident the class could kick the fittest butt around as well as being modifiable for someone just starting to work out. Class was broken up into warm up, upper body with weights, lower body with a squishy ball, cardio, and ab work on eco friendly mats. They provide everything you need, including lockers with a key! They sell special footy socks that help you grip the floor if you like. I noticed on the wall that they were in the midst of a 30 day challenge, too! There were three large washrooms and beautiful vanity sink area complete with personal hygiene items if you needed to freshen up. I've been to the Glenora location a few times; once for a class and the other time to work out on the machines. The last visit was to work out on a Saturday morning. The locker area is spacious and clean. The layout works that not everyone is in one area with one row of lockers like as some gyms. There are the full body length and half size lockers which is great and you need to bring your own lock. There are benches scattered around by the lockers. There are big mirrors, hairdryers, lotions, and I think even hairspray! There's a door to separate the lockers from the toilets and the shower area. The showers are huge and private, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and soap. I didn't even need to bring a towel as they provide that as well! I went to the cardio machines where they have rows of bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills. I hopped on an elliptical but I didn't see the antibacterial wipes, which I like to use to wipe the machine before I use it in case the person before me didn't. The machines are great with each having their own tv and lots of channels! It makes the time go be quickly. I noticed where a few people were going to get wipes so I got some to clean my machine down. The free weights and weight machine area had lots of options so it wasn't too crowded. There were benches unoccupied it's nice there's room for everyone in the area. I also think there's a Women's Only area upstairs but I didn't check it out. Closer to the front by the offices are chairs which is great if you are waiting for a friend to come out of the locker area. The shoe area is also big so shoes are on top of each other. Great gym!

Shortly after joining this gym and signing up for…read more personal training, I decided to cancel my membership and my personal training sessions for a few reasons. Every time I visited either the steam room, dry sauna or hot tub were closed/out of commission. One reason I chose this gym is because they told me it is child free, however there were always kids running around in the change room as there were swimming lessons taking place. These points are the least of my concerns however. When I decided to cancel, I was directed to the general manager Justin Moxon. He had told me that he was disappointed to see me go, but he understood, he assured me my membership & personal training was to be cancelled and I would receive a refund for the personal training I had paid for. They were in fact not cancelled, I met with him on multiple occasions and he insisted that it would be cancelled and I would be issued a refund. That was back in the summer of 2025 and it is currently February 2026. The issues I had with the gym are one thing, but constantly being lied to is another issue altogether. They are currently being sued by The FTC in the US for this, so beware.

I was shocked when they started offering annual memberships and payments, anyhow I proceeded to sign up. A day after I signed up, my grandmother died and I knew that I was gonna have to go out of the country to be at her funeral so I went in and asked for a cancellation of my membership, I kindly asked to be considered if possible to be given a refund back because first I did not use the facility, second it has not been weeks since i signed up. Later that week I spoke to this gym staff telling me to schedule a session and told her that I'm unable to do so because I already cancelled my membership and requested a refund, she responded "Okay, sorry to hear about that, I will let the management know" A few days later I called her and told her that it has been days since I cancelled and requested a refund but I haven't gotten any email of refund receipt or cancellation confirmation and she then responded "I will work on that today" To cut the story short I spoke with another staff on the phone and told me that the reason why it took them a while to respond back to me because of "technological issues" then proceeded to say that I won't be getting a refund because its been weeks since I signed up and that he said that's a plenty of time for me to visit the gym, WHICH IS A TOTAL BS because I cancelled it immediately but nobody just responded, then there is this staff saying she's processing everything. On march 3rd I was looking for a gym membership and was pressured for 2 hours to sign up and and not only have a membership but also signup for a trainer and fitness plan and extra stuff that I didn't want or asked for, when I told them I was not interested I had my own coach that helps me with my fitness goals already they continued to pressure and suggested I let my coach that go and that I have to move on to the "next phase". I have chronic lower back pain that my coach is helping me with, @GYMVMT (GYMVMT GATEWAY) this place was recommending I should work out at least 5 times a week and that I will see faster results than the coach I have now could ever help me with and that I'll save "a lot more money" if I use their services even though I had already explained I only wanted a gym membership After being there for at least 2 hours I felt so anxious, uncomfortable and overwhelmed I was told to sign a digital pad and I was not shown or told what I was signing, I assumed it was the gym membership, unfortunately I had signed a contract for 12 months for a 24 week program with a fitness coach that I didn't want When I got home that day I checked my emails and found out I had signed a contract that I did not want and realize I had signed up for, I called the same day to cancel everything and say I was not interested, I was told I would have to pay $100 to cancel everything by 2 employees over the phone, so then I left reviews and noticed I was not the only person to have this issues like this with this business. After leaving my reviews all over social media I got 2 more phone calls from different managers saying there was no issues, they could cancel it and that I didn't have to pay $100 for anything and that they "weren't sure how or why I was confused and got that mixed up and that everything was good and they wanted to offer me a free complimentary workout session so that I wasn't left with a bad taste in my mouth" I assumed after that everything was dealt with, so I deleted my comments from their social media and thought everything was all good again Then recently I got another phone call and email saying I need to go back to that gym to give them a signature and today I checked my bank account and the gym has charged me for $80.80 even though I have not used any of their services and I had said I wanted to canceled and would be going to looking at other gyms. There's a nice sandwich board pointing you in the door and up the stairs. When I arrived with my friend (also a newbie), we did the usual waiver signing and got a tour of the studio. After we had changed, a staff member sat with us and showed us how to use the rowing machines, and brought us all the blocks and bands we would need for the class. There are change rooms with bathrooms and showers, a lounge area, and some complimentary valuable lockers (I had to wait for one to free up after a previous class finished to store my purse). Hive offers rowing classes, yoga, HIIT and spin, meaning you can get a great variety of classes for purchasing one subscription or set of passes. We tried a rowing class because we had never done one before, and we were pretty nervous about the unknown. The class was tough, but also so fun! In between rowing we did mat work beside the machines that included arm work, lunges, push-ups etc. We did the class on Tuesday and my legs didn't feel normal again until Friday evening (always a good sign!). Our instructor was awesome, so high energy and encouraging, and consistently checking with us to make sure we understood movements and that our form was correct. Everything about our visit was great. The effort the staff have made to create a trendy environment that is welcoming, inclusive and encouraging is apparent. Definitely check out Hive for a great workout!

Everyone was so nice, asking me if I needed water, taking me on a tour, helping me stick my shoes in the peddles, adjusting my seat etc. I was like wow, this is a lot of care! I'm super low maintenance when I work out so all this attention was definitely an experience. I loved the seats here. They didn't make my behind ache when class was over. I love the isometric movements and could feel the burn for sure! I also had to laugh because so many people were hootin' and hollerin' it was awesome! I love when people get into the workout because it helps pump up those of us who were dragged out of bed kicking and screaming (not me). My favourite part of the workout was when it was over. No joke, they come around with MINT COLD TOWELS for you to wipe your face with. I was like damn, I must have made it. This is truly the life. I would definitely come back to this studio. I have been a student of theirs since the Whyte avenue days where lineups went into the street when they were the first hot yoga studio in the city. They asked us to grow as students and themselves have grown as a studio. This proves they listen to their students (and customers). They have a lot of experience and their classes reflect this. Overall it is a great studio. They have new laminate flooring, good air circulation and nice change rooms (although soap in the shower would be helpful). Definitely worth a try!
