This is an EXCELLENT environment to get your fitness on! I went here last week, for my very first experience at a World Health Club. I was super impressed! It was easy to find and there were plenty of parking spaces available around the facility.
Before working out, I ate a quick breakfast at Fresh Fit Foods, conveniently connected to the World Health Club. There was a wide selection of healthy breakfast options, as well as drinks. The foods were prepackaged and refrigerated. I finally opted for a farmer's skillet breakfast, which I warmed up in the microwave in the eating area. For a beverage I choose a Karma passionfruit drink.
I had a chance to try out a one hour power class, held in an upstairs room at the facility. I'm so not a weight lifter but I thought YOLO! The class was a Zumba-like version of weight lifting. The instructor was super energetic, motivating and painfully fun! I had a lot of great laughs, with a couple friends, as we attempted to keep up with the instructor.
As the class progressed, the weights seemed to get heavier, with each movement. I was using muscles I never used before. A pure beginner, like myself, can take this class, but I strongly suggest you start with light weights. The goal is to push yourself but not to cause injury! During the class people would add and remove additional weights.
I didn't try out the exercise machines, downstairs in the main area, but I noticed that there were a wide variety of elliptical, bikes and other fancy machines used to work out. I also liked how there was a seating area just outside the locker rooms.
The ladies locker rooms were clean and spacious, with plenty of lockers, toilets, showers and a sauna inside. For your added convenience, they have lotions, antiperspirant spray, hair dryers and hair straighteners to use. I was amazed at the organization behind this place!
I left the World Health Club in a refreshed and happy mood. Super pumped to continue with the rest of my day.
The next day, I became sore in my upper chest (pectoral) area. This was to be expected, since I worked out muscles that I hadn't before. I simply took an Advil and gently massaged the aching area. After a couple of days I was totally fine.
Overall, I was impressed with my brief experience here. I would definitely consider coming back for more! read more
