Since we bought our house in March, we have dealt with many contractors. Jose & Angela are by far…read morethe most professional and honest among all of them. They took care of a drywall+door installation and a bathroom fan replacement. Among the 4 contractors we contacted for this, they were the only ones showing up in person to provide a quote. The others only asked for pictures and provided quotes based on those. The quote from Jose & Angela was very reasonable. A couple of times, as it is often the case, the project required some extra costs due to the unforseen conditions of the door and the fan we purchased. Jose was very transparent in describing the reasons of the additional costs and updated our contract immediately both times. At each step we knew what we were paying for why. Based on our experience, this is not something to be taken for granted. The final job was absolutely high quality. Moreover, Jose and his team did all they could to minimize the impact of dust etc on the rest of the house. I am very happy we (somewhat randomly, via Angi) got to connect with them. They will certainly be our first choice for any future work on the house that falls within their expertise.

From our…read moreearliest conversations, Zeke and the team took the time to understand why this project mattered to me. I had a sunroom and roof situation that needed more than a quick cosmetic repair. I wanted a lasting solution and a room that would finally feel comfortable, welcoming, and usable. The HyggeHus team was approachable, responsive, and honest throughout the process. They explained what they were working through, especially when the new roof structure required careful planning and coordination. I never felt that questions were being avoided or that decisions were being made without considering the effect on the rest of the house. The value I received -- within a very clear, efficient timeline -- was also notable. The people working in my home were highly competent, friendly, considerate, and easy to have around. They paid attention to the details, cleaned up after themselves, and clearly cared about how the finished work would look. The new roof and Hygge room have completely changed this part of my home. It now feels solid, warm, and thoughtfully finished. I would absolutely recommend HyggeHus to someone looking for a contractor who combines thoughtful planning with quality construction.

Where other companies told us to "tear it down and start over," he saw a way to restore and improve our garage -- saving time, money, and a lot of material from the landfill. The crew was awesome to work with: friendly, respectful, and happy to explain what they were doing along the way. Even with a few weather delays, the communication was excellent, and we always knew where things stood. In the end, we have a garage that's straight, strong, and looks like it's been part of our home forever. If you want a contractor who cares about the details, respects your budget, and genuinely enjoys the work -- call HyggeHus.

The result was a messed-up patch that looked like an amateur built the deck. I contacted Joe, the owner and his response was basically "too bad." There was no thought into the aesthetics and functionality of the modifications. bad value for the cost. I am very dissatisfied. Response to owner's reply: I could not reply to Joe's response, so I had to add this review. They did discover issues when they removed the old deck, which is understandable. My issue is that after finding the issues, they did not change the plans to accommodate the issue. The deck was expected to be near ground level, but when they found the ground too high, they raised the deck to over two feet high. That caused the need for steps, which were not tied into the walkway, leaving an unsightly dirt gap. On the other side of the deck, where the old deck abutted a small wooden retaining wall from the old deck, they were going to leave a 6-inch wide and 1-foot-deep gap between the new deck and the old deck wall leaving a hazard. That is what they fixed at no charge as I said I would not pay for that. They should have added 6 inches when they saw the existing plan would leave that gap. The fix was not pretty and did not line up. They also left a portion of the old dirty from hanging from the deck. The new expensive deck is no showpiece. They owner says he did not want to convey "too bad", but his only response to the issues was to suggest they give me a bid to do additional work. I said I would not hire them again because the workmanship was poor. I will add pictures tomorrow.
