This is one of three Denver libraries I visit. The others are Thunderbird Man on Santa Fe Drive and the Main Library on Broadway between 13th & 14th Avenues. It is a 1960's style building with 2 floors and a basement. Fully handicap accessible with an elevator. The first floor has children and teens areas, newspapers and sitting areas. The 2nd floor has nonfiction books, magazines, DVD & CD rentals, 2 community rooms for rent, multiple computers for internet access and the puzzle table. They alternate between 500 piece and 1000 piece puzzles. The basement has a large community room and large men's/women's restrooms. Since they are located in Cherry Creek North, paid parking on the street is limited to 2 hours. There are several parking garages nearby and there is plenty of paid parking across 1st Ave at Cherry Creek Mall. I usually take RTD bus 3 that goes down 1st Avenue. They do have a few free parking spots on the west side of the building. They are now open 7 days starting at 10am. read more

Based solely on location...as I can easily walk to pickup and drop-off books. It is a smallish library ( I guess that is sort of a moot issue with digital print now) but the ambiance and architecture is very nice. Nice help and easy access. read more

So convenient and such a great asset to the neighborhood! Wonderful staff and great space!

Parking sucks. It's a dollar per hour of parking and there's only a maximum of I think three hours. So if you're planning on coming here to study for a long day like me, it's going to cost you. There honestly isn't a ton of seating inside and the library itself is much smaller than most public libraries that I've seen. The furniture is much more contemporary than most that I have seen. It's a tri-level library with most of the computers on the upper floor and the bathrooms on the basement floor. I absolutely love the metal legged copper upholstered chair they have upstairs by their desks. It is incredibly comfortable and I would love to own one of those chairs myself. Those chairs promote me to study better because it makes sitting more comfortable and it keeps my posture upright. read more

One of the larger public libraries in the southeastern part of Denver. Assuming you can find parking (usually metered) nearby, there's space for adults to read/study without being on top of each other or be smack dab in the kids section. There's study tables and plugs, plus Wi-Fi. It's pretty quiet and that's all I'm really looking for. If you do score a meter nearby it's a 2 hour max, so you can either move or head somewhere else! read more

I haven't checked out a library book since I was probably 12. Today I decided to go online, setup an account, and get some books reserved to go pickup. This seemed pretty straight forward but was an epic fail. Of the three titles I searched, there were approximately 120 - 270 people ahead of me to request the book. Meaning I probably wouldn't have been able to read these until.... sometime late next year? That doesn't seem very efficient. No thanks. I'll use my 15% off Barnes and Noble coupons and continue purchasing books I want to read now. I usually donate them later or sell them back to a bookstore so it's really not a huge deal and I can recoup some of the cost usually. I had no idea it was so next to impossible to check out a good book in a timely manner.... read more

What every neighborhood needs - - a good library. Emphasis is on the children's books and children's videos. There is a community room in the basemen and It is utilized. They are good at bringing in authors to discuss their books and they are good at ordering books and making it easy to pick them up. They also have a good video library of TV shows and reasonably current movies. A real gem of a library. read more

As many other reviewers have stated, the parking here sucks. Dont be surprised if you have to circle the block four or five times before something opens. I almost gave up and was about to leave the area when I finally saw a spot open about a block and a half away. As far as the actual library goes, its probably the smallest location in the DPL family. Two floors and a basement, but very compact. On the plus side this location was quiet and the patrons were respectful to others without talking loudly on their cell phones and running around like they were at a rec center. If you live in this area and are in walking or biking distance, this is a good place to go for studying, reading, doing homework, otherwise its better to go to a larger location that at least has a parking lot. read more

Wow--what a great small library in the Cherry Creek area! Was totally impressed as soon as I walked in--very clean, organized and plenty of books, magazines and DVDs to choose from. The staff was very friendly and we were immediately greeted as we walked in. The checkout process is very cool--just lay down all the books on the checkout scanner, enter your library # or DOB and voila--it scans all the books at the same time!! Very impressive. Plenty of free parking and book drop is located at the parking area and also at the front. read more

You can get a library card and check out books that same day. Not a huge library with a extensive selection but if you are looking for a place to study and grab a popular book or two then this is the place. read more

Much better than a lot of the other libraries. Kids can still be pretty loud and obnoxious though. Has two floors elevator and stairs available and drinking fountains. Magazines for checkout. Everything is well labeled organized and stocked and this library is very clean. It's in a more upscale bougie neighborhood. Parking is metered but if you park down the road just a block or two you can get free parking yay !! This library is clean and hasn't been over run by transients. Thank god. It's a nice place to actually read. Lots of computers available to the public and Liberians are eager to help. Thank you read more

This was the first library which I actually started going to regularly. It really opened my eyes up to libraries again. I used to really like going to them when I was younger...and lost that feeling when time started getting so tight when I got "older" and "busy". Well, now that i am even older, I make time to go there, because it is so incredibly fun. So many books you can read, movies you can see, music you can check out, all for free! Okay, well, as long as you return them on time. I still return a magazine late...you only get a week with those. But as long as a book is not on hold by another patron, you can keep it checked out for quite awhile (especially if you use the online renewal option too). Fortunately they just updated their hours so they are open all days but Sunday (just a bit ago they were closed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, I think). read more

As a student, I am really glad to have a library close to my apartment. I agree with the other reviewers about this library being on the louder side for working and studying. This library is a half 2-floor structure in which the 2nd floor (where the reading area is) oversees the first (where the front desk and kids playing area are). I am OK with kids playing but I do think that staff here really can lower their volume a little. Other than that this library is nice and clean, compared to the one downtown which has turned into a homeless paradise. People who come to this library seem to live nearby and are really there to READ. read more

We came for the wonderful and free weekly books babies session. What a nice activity! There are books, song sheets, and even scarves (if the song requires it). You are downstairs in a separate big room that is very child friendly. The class leader was wonderful! We loved the singing and reading combo and will definitely be returning. My only 2 minor issues were that the room was crazy hot. Even the baby was uncomfortable, and I was fully sweating. Also, parking at this branch is incredibly hard. Make sure to give yourself lots of time. The library itself, by the way, is immaculate and the staff is so friendly! It's a great library option if you can find parking. read more

Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library - Book babies! Free music and reading for kids every Thursday at 10:30 and 11:30am. Great! - Libraries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Geez, and I was happy with my neighborhood library (with the best librarians everrr), but yeaaa, one more GREAT branch here in Denver. When my branch is closed I don't just wait for another day - I'm way too impatient for that, so when I saw the list of closest libraries "open" on the front door, directly underneath the "closed" sign - I realized how close I was to cherry creek and another branch I had not yet visited. So, I drove right over. Possibly 3 miles from my own perfect library is yet the MOST perfect library. A gi-normous kids section, and the dvd section is even better and more current than my favorite dvd section at my home library. Very exciting, I know. The selection was more extensive than my home library, but as I've mentioned before, the best thing youcan do is order whaat you need, either at the branch, or online, and just pick it up at your convenience. Easy greasy. read more

Super clean, well organized Library in the heart of Cherry Creek. I use this location often, reserve a book online, go pick it up and use the 2nd floor to read, do research and get work done. The first floor has an area for children's books, a collection of new popular books, genres recommended for various ages, as well as a section of movies/dvds and audible books, etc. The self check-out process is really smooth. The staff on hand are super friendly with any questions! Bathrooms are located downstairs and upstairs. The second floor overlooks the first floor so sound does travel. There are rooms you can reserve for group projects, computers you can use with a library card, as well as various desks and chairs to work from. read more

This is usually my go-to public library, as it's near me and almost always has the book/movie/whatever I'm looking for. It's in a neat spot, right in Cherry Creek. The lot to the side/behind it technically is paid parking, but if you know exactly what you need you can duck in and out and not have to worry about it. The building is a little funky but cool. Two things that throw me a little about this place: 1. It's a little confusing how things are organized (but not terrible) 2. The staff seems...cold. That sounds weird but they were all frowning and didn't even really acknowledge me... But here's the really neato part-they have self checkout! All you do is walk up to a machine, scan your library card, put your book or whatever you have down (almost like you would produce at the grocery store) and you're done. That's pretty nifty. Cool (slightly confusing) building, oddly cold staff, and a really good selection of all sorts of media. I'm a fan. read more

Okay, so I'm a little old-fashioned and actually enjoy going to libraries...especially when they look like this one! This doesn't remind me of any of the dingy libraries I visited as a kid, and it doesn't hurt that they have a pretty massive (20-30?) collection of computers upstairs. It was really easy to find what I needed - I'll be back! read more

I love this library branch! The building has a nice feel to it - lots of natural light and high ceilings. It's clean and easy to find your way around. The hold shelf is self-service, which makes me feel like I have a little skin in the game, like it's "my" library. In fact that's kinda the overall vibe in the place. It reminds me of a modern version of the library I went to as a kid, where I knew the librarians by face if not by name and they knew me as well. read more

This library is always clean and quiet. The staff has always been nice and helpful. They don't have a huge book selection because it's a small library. I just put books on hold and pick them up here. The kids area is small, but pleasant. My kids seem to enjoy the toys, and the one kids computer is rarely in use. I can usually find a comfortable seat to read my books while they play. They have plenty of computers upstairs, so it's probably a good place if you need that. I've never been to any of their events, but I've been here at all different times with no crowds. CONS: their hours. They change each day, and sometimes they open at noon or close at 5:00. Also, all paid parking besides two 15 minutes spots that are always occupied. You can park on the East side of the street for free, and I can usually find a spot. It's a nice walk in good weather, and you can stay as long as you want. read more

The management at this library is awful. The man that runs the library is rude and condescending and seems to have trained his assistant manager in the same manner. Seems like a public library is not the place where you would need to even speak to a manager anyway! - but the Cherry Creek branch proved me wrong. Just plain rude. Can't even think of anything witty to write regarding this because I'm so irritated by them. However - there is a super cool, hippy guy that works there who is helpful and sarcastic and friendly - he's the only reason they get one star. He rocks - the managers suckith. Customer service is still important even when you work for the government, people. I wonder if they've forgotten who pays their salary! Boo on them. I'll only go there as a last resort even though it's the closest to my house. I'll head to central or the one on university instead (or until those two people leave). read more

Very nice library. There is a lot of room and a lot of table to study. I am studying for CPA exam and can hear people talking on first floor. Bring some earplugs in case there is noise because voices travel. Quite a few computers. Parking is not good. Plenty of pay-to-park spots close but I parked for free just 2 blocks away. read more

Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library - Upstairs looking over 1st floor. - Libraries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This library has a small footprint, mostly dedicated to children's books and fiction. Parking is somewhat of a challenge. Half of al residential streets require a parking sticker. It is easy to find your way around the library as there are signs at every stair landing. It's a little overrun with children, who are not supervised. read more

What can I say besides a library is a library and I love books so heck you'll find me there. Apparently this is the closest Denver library to my home so finally opened an account before Tattered Cover Bookstore steals all my money.... Great location and its cozy inside with lots of computer and space to get work done or just waste time. The staff could be a bit more enthusiastic and not treat me like an idiot for not knowing how things are done in the Denver system. Besides the staff, everything else is great and considering the great online system guess I'll be using that as it is more convenient and involves less interaction with the staff. read more

After driving around for the past 20 minutes trying to find a parking spot - metered much less free parking - I am giving up and going to a library elsewhere in the city. Not having a free parking lot designated for library patrons was poor planning and design. I could have been in and out in the time it has now taken to attempt to park. read more

This is a nice branch of the Denver library. While it's not a huge branch, they have a large selection and they have self checkout. There is a parking lot behind the branch, however it's a paid lot I find that a bit annoying, but it is what it is. With that said, if you are running in and out there is a 15 minute spot. read more

What a terrible place. First of all, the whole first floor ALWAYS smells like the inside of a urinal. I mean, if you stuck your face in a urinal, put your nose right next to one of those deodorant blocks and breathed really deeply, that would be the EXACT smell of the entire first floor of this place. Can't they fix this? The staff is terrible. I was in one of the second-floor meeting rooms, when one staff member barged in, saying, "We have this room now." Then she just turned her back on me, waiting for me to leave. Is that the best you can do, Ross-Cherry Creek? Is that the way you treat patrons? You can't even be civil or polite? Apparently, the library staff had reserved the room for one of their meetings. I got a table outside the meeting room and resumed my work... A few female library staff gathered in the meeting room for some sort of meeting. But they were SO LOUD! I looked into the room to see what the hell they were doing. They were reading a children's book to each other. It was very ODD. They were having such a great time! They were laughing and yelling, and their nose carried across the whole second floor. It was very bizarre. Another time, I attended what I thought was a marketing workshop, held in one of the library's basement rooms. I should have known that is was a bad idea when the event organizers asked me to wear a name tag. The library regularly holds educational-type events down there, so I thought that I would learn something. Well, it turned out to be a sales event, based on the book called Guerrilla Marketing. At the end of the "meeting," we were all asked if we wanted to spend (a large amount of) money on the actual marketing course, that would take place at a later date. I felt so used, so misled, so deceived. What I thought was an educational seminar turned out to be an hour-and-a-half long sales pitch. I am disappointed at the library for letting these people waste a portion of my evening. read more

As of today, I have been going to this library for 8 years and I am glad to say that this is my favorite library!

I have been going to this library for about a year after moving to Denver for a lengthy consulting engagement. A couple of comments on the library and to the people that have written negative reviews on parking and the staff. First - I live downtown and commute to the Cherry Creek area by Bus, uBer or Walking at least twice a week. The parking and driving in this area is absolutely atrocious, whether you're going to the library, shopping or grabbing a bite to eat. Much easier to get their on foot like its done in Europe and the East Coast where I have worked for years. Second - Since when is the staff required to be responsive to your every request. I have used libraries all over the country and they all operate the same way, One should know how to navigate around in a library without asking for much more than a library card. In general I have found this library far better than most. Books, DVDs, Research Materials are all easy to get to, cozy atmosphere, and helpful staff when I need them. read more

This is such a gem. The librarians and staff go the extra mile to help, find, and order books. I always come in a list of books and author and if they don't have it in most cases they can get in from another library within 2-3 days. read more

I have been going to this library for over 6 months now, and while this library is clean on the surface, some of the staff are beyond rude. It's obvious to me that this poorly run library has ineffective top down leadership starting with the senior librarian, Carol Foreman. I go to the library to study and work, and this branch is very loud. Not only do I usually see library staff standing around and chatting for 15-30 minutes at a time, but this past saturday was so loud that even my headphones did not block out the noise. As I was leaving, I mentioned to the male front desk clerk about the noise and was ignored. I then escalated this to the female librarian whose voice carries far and wide in the library (sarcasm) and was told I should go to a different library, and asked incredibly inappropriate questions. Its sad because on the surface this looks like a nice library, but the staff there make it a very unappealing place to study or do any work. Feel free to email the librarian if you would like to back me up on the noise in this library cforeman@denverlibrary.org.
