I got my first tattoo with Steph probably seven or eight years ago and now have 10 pieces from her! There will be more too, I just need to get my butt back to Santa Paula! I trust Steph because of her artistic ability, skill with a needle, but also her advice with color, placement and size of the piece, etc. I've been getting tattooed for more than 20 years and most of my work is between three artists who live in different areas of California. I keep returning to Roses and Rivets because Steph is a badass tattoo artist, but also a super rad human. The shop is spotless, she has fun artwork all over the walls (hers and others!), always has a candy dish, supports non-profits with her Flash Days, and sells her artwork and other merch. I have a couple of those pieces on my walls too! Of all my tattoos, this was by far the best experience I've had. The shop is super clean and very relaxing. But Steph's whole vibe is what made the appointment so amazing. She gave me exactly what I had asked for in the consultation, and made it look absolutely fantastic. When I say that I could have slept through the whole encounter, I'm being 100% serious. I was so fortunate to walk in and chat with Steph. I was walking to the museum through the alley and the thought popped in my head that I should get a tattoo on my trip to California.
