Had my first ever colonoscopy with Dr. Lee. My experience was more than satisfactory (under the…read morecircumstances). Dr. Lee has great staff, and his process is very smooth. He spend just enough time with during the first visit to explain everything, in simple terms, and answer any questions. On the day of the procedure, everything was done perfect. I don't remember the actual procedure as I fell asleep after the doctor told me that he was going to start administering the medicine. At these words I woke up, and I was all done! My wife picked me up, and I was completely up and running within hours. Fully recommend Dr. Lee, and will see him again in 10 years!

First, I would like to say that Dr. Lee is an excellent physician. He is patient, attentive, and…read morenever makes you feel rushed during appointments. He truly listens and takes the time to address concerns, which is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk receptionist, LYNN, has been extremely disappointing. Interacting with her has been frustrating and discouraging. She comes across as very unprofessional and lacks the patience and compassion that are especially important in a medical office -- particularly when working with elderly patients or individuals who may struggle with technology, such as online portals or email communication. Instead of feeling supported, I often felt as though getting assistance or scheduling an appointment was an inconvenience to her. A medical practice should be welcoming and helpful from the very first point of contact, and that has not been my experience. It is frustrating and painful to deal with this woman. Dr. Lee provides wonderful care, but the front office experience does not reflect the same level of professionalism and compassion. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the right front desk staff can make a significant difference in patients' overall experience.

I was refered to Dr. Osterhoff by my primary care physician, Richard Jordan (see my review.) The…read morereviews I have seen & my docotr talking about him put me at ease that this was the right decision. He is very nice, thoroughly explaining everything to you & what to expect & different theraputic options. The staff I innitially talked to about a colonoscopy was very friendly & thorough. I came in to see him for my GERD which he did an upper endoscopy for at the same time. Fastforward a month & yesterday, was the big day. He came into the room & went over everything & made sure any questions were answered. Once in the or, Joe & Cindy, the or tech & nurse were wonderful, as was Dr. Phan from anathesiology. They made sure I was comfortable & the tests went well. I had a couple polyps on my colon & some stomach polyps which are normal for taking antacids. He came back in my pre/postop room & went over everything as did Mark, one of the nurses & Cherity was the nurse who started my iv & did the innitial work up. So, for wonderful gi care with a friendly, knowlegable, & caring doctor & staff, Dr. Osterhoff cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.

I asked him (a GI) if there was any connection with the brain and the gut and he immediately answered no despite hundreds of research studies that points to the fact there is a connection. He never mentioned that there was a possibility of cancer until I came out of my colonoscopy and asked him how it went and he said 'Well you have cancer." No bedside manner exists, personality is non-existent, and generally seems like a miserable person. If you hate your job that much, why do you keep showing up and taking the lives of your patients into your depressive hands. UCSF should revoke his degree.

My friend, a retired nurse, provided me with the recommendation to see Dr Chin. When I arrived,…read morethe very first form the admin had me sign was a financial responsibility form for labs, etc. Hmm, that was the first red flag. My appointment was right before lunch, and he was late by 35 mins so by the time we were done, it was during the admin staffs' lunch hour. After the 15min with Dr Chin, I left the office to use the restroom prior to picking up the lab boxes. When I returned, I found the door to the office to be locked, and spent 5mins outside waiting for the admin to open the door. Why would they lock the door? This isn't a supermarket or Trader Joe's with last minute shoppers trying to get in! The doctor ordered 2 lab tests, and when the admin (heavy set, Filipina I believe) provided me the lab supplies, considering the financial liability form I signed I had a few questions regarding Medicare coverage, she was very short with me. I think she was irritated at dealing with me during her lunch break. Net, she had no answers regarding coverage, and told me to call the numbers on the lab forms. Of course, when I called both numbers the following days (2 diff labs), no one returned my calls. After she provided the lab supplies I left but forgot to grab my hat. So I am banging on the locked door, this time for 10mins before the admin came to open the door. I tried calling but of course no answer, similar to the complaints and comments of the other reviewers. While Dr Chin may be a solid GI doc, the whole experience was a turn off. This medical group should consider spending more $ on the admins/experience, it's not like they cannot afford it. I ended up seeing a GI doc at Stanford who is excellent, informs me of what Medicare covers, and very happy I made the switch.

It felt like he was really in my corner and wanted the best for me. The endoscopy to confirm was also straightforward and well-explained.
