Of course, any dog Mom would do it but it still hurt! A week ago I stood up from a chair and something just happened... if it has happened to you, you know that moment when you become stuck in one position, and looking in a mirror would be like seeing a letter "c". Great for letters, bad for your spine. 24 hours later I was stuck lying on the floor after crawling from the bathroom back to my bed, the problem was that I couldn't stand up to get back into bed. The following day - when I was moving around a little bit, but still with a lot of pain - I called and made an appt with Dr. Lauren. She is incredibly kind, spent an hour with me on the first appoiintment and made some nice adjustments which helped towards getting me back on track. She also reminded me that looking down at our phones is awful, I am always so concerned about my lower back that I forget about the shoulders and my phone. I saw her a few days later (and I felt like a totally different person than the one she saw days earlier), and have two follow-ups coming up. I said I would like to be "proactive, not reactive" and know that seeing her every 3 weeks or so will go a long way in the future. Check your insurance details, many include chirporactors (mine is 20 visits per year). I was also sent home with a nice folder of info as well as her recommendations for future care (on my own as well as with her). Office is on the first floor of a house right on Beacon St in Newton Center, there are meters as well as 2hr free parking right on the street (free parking starts at their house and heads down towards Newton Four Corners). They also have a ramp if you need one (starting at the back) and I believe there is parking back there as well. Ask the nice ladies at the desk for any info you need, I spoke with Patty when I made my appointment and she checked me in/out for both appointments.

You feel safe in their hands because you know they can fix what ails you. Dr. Michaud is one of these rare doctors in my life that I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to know. I had a ten-year chronic pain problem in my foot due to a nonunion. Guess what? Since Dr. Michaud has been my doctor, the pain is simply gone. I had chronic flare-ups of terrible neck pain from spending years working long hours at a desk. After religiously doing the counter-intuitive exercises Dr Michaud prescribed and receiving his slightly-painful-but-worth-it massages-- guess what? Gone. He writes innovative textbooks, keeps up with the latest research (check the dates of the dozens and dozens of scholarly articles pinned to the bulletin board in his waiting room-- they're super current), and even has invented a medical device or two. He loves what he does, and he's literally amazing at it. You'll be amazed at what he can do, which for many of his patients includes being healed by him despite having been told by orthopedic surgeons that the only solution was the operating room. PS: If you can't get an appointment with him (and realistically, the chances are probably fairly low b/c he's so sought after), call the office and you'll get a referral for his associate who works with him in the same office. She may not be Dr. Michaud, but anyone he recommends is someone you can trust.

She has a sure and gentle touch, and a really extensive knowledge in a field where you can easily get by with a good grasp of the basics. She's kind, she's professional, and above all, she cares. I've seen her strive to give her patients the best care possible in a range of different situations, and she always impresses me with her gentleness. Another strength of hers is to look at the big picture of what's going on with my body, so that something bugging my hip may be playing out in two or three other places that might not have been apparent at first blush. Long story short, she's skilled, she's kind, and she is extremely knowledgeable and professional. And her prices are very in line with other chiros in this area. Thanks, Dr. Ellen, for such good care!!! (This review was originally posted on the yelp page for her office in Waltham, but for some reason that did not transfer over to her new yelp page. I LOVE her new location - so near good things like the walking path by the Charles River and a five minute drive from Russo's, the great produce store - so many ways to stay healthy with Dr. Ellen!)

My husband and I at the time did not have the money to invest in a new mattress. Most times I was sleeping on our 'less broken' couch, which was still murder on my back. Three days before Christmas of 2015, I bent down to get something out of our fridge, and I felt my lower back tighten up. By the time I got to work, I could barely walk and eventually had to be taken out of work on a stretcher due to back spasms so severe, I couldn't even move. I returned to work and to Dr. Wolk's care three weeks after the incident, and she has helped get my back back (ha) into tip top shape. I truly don't know what would have happened if it weren't for her gentle, expert guidance and care. Dr. Wolk is smart, kind, and funny - she not only knows her stuff, but she is wonderful to talk to about anything. Just a lovely person who will help you heal in the beat way possible!!
