We pulled up on an old trailer labeled office, sketchy, I was ready to go. We drove so we went in, not exactly a clean place, a bit run down as you would expect from the outside appearance. The lady in the office seemed overwhelmed but was very nice. We discussed reviews, she explained them off. After riding around the campground, we made a reservation and offered to pay in full but told no. We were concerned because our dates included a busy time within the town as well as a holiday weekend. Fast-forward, I did receive an email confirmation of our reservation dates. 2 days prior to our anticipated arrival, our plans shifted by a day, I made a call. No formal "AOKay Campground, phone etiquette" just Hello! With a smile, I identified myself and explained my reason for the call. Was told, no problem, see you when you get here. Upon arrival we proceeded toward what we knew to be the office, aka the rundown trailer. We were ambushed by 2 golf carts. The office has moved and they tried to "flag us down". Oops, our fault! No problem, I go with "the sister" on one cart to the office to properly check in and my husband with "the brother" following the other to get escorted to our site. Meanwhile in the office, "the mother" yes this is how they refer to themselves -no names! The mother is not very friendly, she asked me several times if we had a reservation, I gave her the confirmation number, she couldn't find it at first. Clearly with the new office came a new IT system creating stress. After signing my life away, 2 pages of rules front and back and 15 min of the mother trying to get the new system to match the quote in my reservation email, she conceded to allow the system to charge less than the quote. On the return golf cart ride, I mentioned that the mom needed to smile. The sister said it had been a busy day, they attended a funeral and 10 campers came in earlier. Ok I'll take that, it's been a tough day and a new computer system. After set up we walked the campground, lots of full-timers, we knew this, some could use some face lifts but as a prior full-timer I understand the challenges of camper living. I actually appreciate a location that allows full-timers, there are a lot of trades that require transient living and WE ALL benefit from these trades; ie electricians, welders, construction, nurses just to name a few! Night one is ok. As mentioned, we live nearby, my husband works for a shed moving company and they had a local move so his boss picked him up in the campground, leaving me our truck, again the golf cart - the brother "what are you doing"?. My husband explained he was being picked up to go to work and (pointing at the camper) we're staying here, mind you "the brother" literally just parked us and talked to my husband for at least 20 min, 18 hours ago! No problem, off to work he goes. All is well UNTIL- my husband returns! Shed truck: Ford 550 pick-up, NOT a semi, pulling a 26fr empty trailer. Pulls in ON THE ROAD, in the campground, before he could stop at our camper - you guessed it, the golf cart! This time "the dad" VERY abrupt and rude - what are you doing here, get that truck out of here, next time you come here you leave that truck on the road, don't bring that in here! I'm in complete shock! In review: smaller than our 40ft camper, empty, during daylight, not going fast and abiding by all the road signs. When my husband questioned if there was a problem - again very rude and curt, the problem is this truck doesn't belong in here and if you don't like that you can take your equipment and leave too! Again, just WOW! I'm completely speechless, and have NEVER been talked to in this manner ever! His boss left as directed and my husband and I were just left looking at each other in complete disbelief. I had plans, the whole reason we're camping, so packing up in that moment was not realistic, though very tempting! I did, however, immediately get online and make reservations at another location for the next day! My husband, the bigger person than I, after some cool down time, went to the office to purchase some steak, they have a cattle ranch and sell fresh meat, just so happens "the dad" was the office attendant. After some small talk about cattle, the dad explained that he had a past experience with a shed repo situation that caused some property damage - NOT the same shed company! Also no apology attempts were made. Completely unacceptable behavior and we will never be back! If I could give this review negative stars I would! I'd like to say we were issued a refund but honestly I didn't even ask, I wanted to leave without any further reason to get an attitude. I choose GRACE and I pray they do too!

So during the day it's not always quiet, but the night I was there was quiet. I would recommend running the water first because it hadn't been run in a while and I had black stuff coming out of my faucet. There was also a wasp nest in the power box so I had to take care of that. Also, the fire pit was filled with about a 3 inch layer of ash that I cleaned out before I made my first fire. There's a guy's phone number on the kiosk that you can call for firewood. He's not affiliated with the park but will bring a bundle for seven dollars plus a delivery fee. There isn't a dedicated hose for black water tank flushing, so I hooked up my own (luckily brand new) hose to the potable water faucet. It would be much better and recommended to have a separate spigot for black water flush hoses. The sunset was beautiful and it seems the fishing is good although I didn't fish. The site had a picnic table, and the firepit has a grate for cooking albeit rusty. I had my grilling supplies and got some of the flakes off. The bathrooms were also big and clean. There is no camp host here FYI. Just pull in and park.
