My aunt has been at Rosecrans Care Center for the past several months. Everytime we visit the facility is clean and there is plenty of staff to attend to the residents. Their activity staff is great. They play games along with various activities to coordinate with the different holidays and themes for each month. My insurance found RCC. There are plenty of empty beds in this facility. I can understand why RCC was more than willing to take my husband for care and physical rehabilitation. Prerequisite was he had a bowel movement with in the last two days, could be safely discharge from hospital and find safe transportation from Paso Robles to Gardena. I was not informed there would be no Physical Care, scheduling and advocacy for admitting patient during the weekend. The long 5 hour drive was painful and uncomfortable for my husband Upon arrival an assistant picked up my husband and plopped him into a wheelchair. With total disregard to the hip pain and surgery my husband had undergone, or to allow my husband to exit the car on his own with some assistance. There was no pillow or blanket on his bed. I went and purchased food for my husband to eat. Only pain medication available was Tydonal until after medical evaluation on Monday afternoon. It was 6:30 pm Saturday. Staff seems to be over worked and under staffed on weekends. The room my husband was placed in, had 4 beds two were already occupied. The room had a strong stifling odor of urine and smelly wet sheets. By 8:45pm, my husband called and asked to be picked up and I took him home. RCC was not prepared for caring for my husband's physical needs, pain management, wound care and wellbeing after his surgery and long transportation to an aftercare facility. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! My father was a resident at this place. I took him clothes including pants, shirts, and a beanie (and I even wrote his name on his belongings) and when I visited my father I saw him wearing clothes with other people's names. Every time I submitted his belongings, I was asked to attach a list describing each item. When my father was discharged to be transferred to another facility, this place did not ship all of his belongings. I purchased those items for my father's use, not for other residents to use them. Also, the corridors are always packed with staff working at their workstations, residents are on their beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment. Parking there can sometimes be a challenge when it comes to finding a parking space. Overall, this place is definitely a place I do not recommend to place a loved one for their caring needs. read more

If you can find a worst Care facility than this then you have the worst luck of anyone on our planet. I had a full replacement at California hospital on September 23rd and on the 29th was told I would have to go to a rehab basically because they needed the room. So at about 9:00 I was whisked out of there and brought to this lovely facility in Gardena. Once they checked me out took my vitals and inventory my entire body for tattoos and whatnot they stuck me in the back of a room that's obviously been this one guy's room for ages and he was welping out no no get him out of here and I don't blame him because there wasn't really room to stick me in the back there but they did with just a curtain separating and my bed up against his closets so it was that cramped. They would not give me my medications and the strange little man in the front continued to play loud music all night and I had no TV or anything so I just had to lay there like a vegetable without my pain medication I inform them that I wanted to leave ASAP and then he told me that I could not that only my doctor could relea se me so I called my surgeon and he said you could leave anytime you'd like. when I told them this they said that's not my doctor my doctor was some random name that they assigned to me when they checked me in that night I never saw the guy they never treated me they never did anything to me except the bare minimum as far as emptying my pee container and bringing me their nasty food which I didn't eat. I finally made enough of a stink which is no pun intended because the place smells like urine, and they agreed to let me go if I signed some forms saying I was going against medical advice which of course I didn't receive any and they said it would negate me receiving any post-release physical therapy at home which I found out is not true neither is the fact that they would not release all of my post-operative paperwork and prescriptions. This is the worst part I was sent home with no medication and they will not release the medication that was written to me and charged to my insurance company by my surgeon they won't give it to me and because of it being in the system that I got it a second prescription that my surgeon wrote is unable to be filled because it looks like I filled one two days apart from each other so this so-called Care facility has caused me to live in pain for the last week just because they lost a filled bed. If you are looking for a Long Term Care facility for your loved one please do not consider this place! She's had several falls in this place. My mother contracted MRSA due to a recent fall that broke the skin on her elbow allowing the infection to colonise. Bed sores were present. Due to the pandemic visitors were not allowed. That allowed them to neglect and abuse her. Diagnosed with Demntia and Alzheimer's while in this place. Claimed hundreds of money withdrawals were authorised by her. All of her money is missing. She was malnourished and very swollen throughout her body! Several health diagnoses were not treated! She was transferred to the hospital in June of 2021, she was in the hospital for over 3 1/2 weeks. She died July 2021! If you have anyone you care about please find another place for them. It's a non- profit facility that charges med-caid over $6000 per month. Plus the patients cost of care. $7000 a month to neglect and steal! They should face criminal negligence charges and the facility closed! DO NOT ENTRUST THEM TO CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES!!! read more

Recently went to the facility and felt comfortable right away. The main reason was the staff there seemed so genuine and helpful. Everyone was very busy but seemed ready and very willing to help any customers/patients in there. Also, the facility appeared to be well equipped with proper equipment, CLEAN work areas and patients' rooms. If looking for a nice senior care facility this one should be strongly considered. Recently admitted my grandpa here and I do not regret it one bit. Other places have no respect or decency to put up with some patients but here they treat him like family. I've come across quite a few nursing homes, having the responsibility of caring for my great aunt and I have to say that I was very impressed with this facility. Aside from the obvious importance of care (which they were really good at), the activities director at the facility always made it fun for her to be around people.
