I don't think hip replacement can be any better that that...unless it can also be pain free...and mine was that also. To very briefly summarize my experience, I hobbled in with pretty severe pain in the morning and walked out with a new hip, the aid of a walker and NO pain by late afternoon. The walker was gone the next day and the cane a few days later. Throughout, what "pain" I've experienced is no more than a few physical therapy induced muscle aches as my body relearns how to move. Hip replacement techniques have advanced greatly in recent years. Dr. Palmer and The Hip and Knee Center are among the pioneers and leaders in the evolution of one very significant improvement called the "anterior approach". My research leading up to surgery indicated that this method offered so many benefits that it was really the only way to go. The result of my surgery proved that my assumption was correct and that Dr. Palmer's skills in the technique are unsurpassed. Beyond the successful result, Dr. Palmer's entire team deserves compliments. Everyone involved, including Dr. Palmer, his staff, colleagues and support facilities and services (in my case, this included Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center and Valley Medical Inn), are clearly patient centered, exuding a very comforting, quiet confidence in their ability and a sincere desire to provide the patient with the best of care along with a minimum of stress and pain. Across the board, all of these people seem to function in that rare place where extraordinary is the minimum expected norm. I sincerely thank all of them.

He pays attention to details, remembers (or takes notes) on personal conversation, and has a good bedside manner. He tends to give standard treatments for diagnoses, but this is adequate for the little I've needed. He would get 4-5 stars. The office was once very responsive, but now that it is part of Advocate, is tedious and far from responsive. It takes two weeks to get anything by mail - prescriptions or results. This seems to be that mail has to go through some kind of corporate mail room. It makes no sense, but has been consistent, and has been an issue at least the past two years with no resolution. The billing seems awkward, though in the end, fair. The facility does have most of what one would need, including ACL for blood work, on premises.

I was out of work for over 6 weeks and in agonizing pain due to the multiple misdiagnosis including sending me to a surgeon to have major surgery. Needless to say I never needed the surgery. A lay person would have had more common sense then the treatment plan they laid out for me. I had to keep going back because I was on an HMO plan and they were handling my disability claim at the time. I am so glad I followed my instincts and insisted they send me to a specialist, who finally diagnosed my condition, which by the way was all due to the medication the PA prescribed. I highly considered filling a law suit. In my opinion their was malpractice and a lack of training which resulted in unnecessary pain and suffering which could have been avoided. This experience left me scared and financially vulnerable. I hope to find a practice I can trust again.

I had originally called the company to make sure I qualified for the bridge program and I did. Upon my almost 2 hr drive to his facility they informed me I was not covered and would have to pay $300! After deciding to just go with the removal, he then said he would do it for $200. I still politely declined and that's when he turned sour. He got very short and I wasn't even numbed when he went to cut into my arm, and it was a painful experience. He had me sign the paper and that was it. Me and my husband were very disappointed with our visit with Dr Wool this time around and will not be back. I would only come back for the nurses. Nothing else. Bad vibes were very present today.

It's a rare thing nowadays to find a friendly Doctor's receptionist, most of them are mean with a capital 'B' !! My second experience was calling a couple days later to say "I can't wait a week to see you. Can you please see if there's a way to get me in sooner?" to which she searched and was able to get me in same-day. Now I realize this was probably luck, but i was THRILLED not to have to wait since I was concerned about what was going on with me. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, and man did I continue to be impressed! A NICE office, with sturdy furniture, and comfy chairs. FRIENDLY receptionists. I waited no longer than 8-10 minutes and was brought into the room. The doctor walked in within about 60 seconds. I saw Doctor Witkowski. He was very-friendly. Walked into the room cracking jokes, and introducing himself. He seemed to listen to what I was saying, looked me over, and explained what he thought it was. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Everyone was great, and I felt very comfortable. They get 5 stars in my book ALL AROUND: receptionists, waiting room, Doctors, cleanliness & friendliness, etc... If you find yourself in need of a surgeon, check them out.

Reading through other reviews made me realize I'm not the only parent that has been talked to this way and dismissed by the office manager. The doctors are good, but they aren't aware of how their nurses and office clerks are to their clients. Like many others, I'm pulling my kid out of Children and Teens Medical Center. To be immediately lectured over the phone with a condescending tone when I asked for a second option to getting my kid treatment was the final straw. Wendy Lembke doesn't care how her staff talks to anyone. It's all about money. Don't bring your kid here.

Even though I have some major concerns with how I was treated, I will continue to go here since I…read morereally like the Doctor. To start off, I have had 5 pretty traumatic derma experiences in my life (think a super moley person with hormonal acne). I needed a Dr that was going to listen, take their time and make sure I'm fully getting some good bedside manner. Dr. Sha is definitely that. Everything I wanted. It was originally super easy to schedule a consultation. I indicated I wanted a mole review and I had questions about my complexion as well. Come to find that these need to be 2 different appointments (of course because they want to make money), but unfortunately weren't told that until I was in the room explaining why I was there. She removed 1 mole that same day - super easy and not painful. I scheduled another appointment to look at my face - 4 weeks later! Find out I have to come back to get more of the original mole removed so I asked if I can have my face looked at the same time - yes, they said. Move up appointment 2 weeks! wow! Come in - fix my mole, look at my face. Give me $350 worth of products and a prescription. My insurance doesn't cover and CVS said if the doctor says its medically necessary or if you can use generic then it would be fine. I call the office (the intro message is 2 minutes long! geez!) and finally get to a voicemail asking what to do about the prescription. 2 weeks later - yes - I call again and they say "well, we've been trying to get a hold of you, but your mailbox was full!" However, weird thing is that the front desk guy left me a message detailing a different prescription with a really weird scenario of how to get it. I thought the message wasn't for me! The experience with the nurse was completely different than with Dr. Sha. No bed side manner, was quite rude and matter of fact with her information - putting all the blame on me and my insurance. When I told her what CVS said, she said No that's not what they said. Really? That's just rude. She could have responded with "oh really, well let me follow up with them and see what we can do." instead she inadvertently called me dumb and said that's not what they told me. I manage a large customer service team of 80 people, and I cannot imagine someone speaking to our customers like this. NO help, rude and putting the blame on me. Here I am 3 weeks later, I still don't have a part of my skincare plan and when I ask why my skin is dry, she said "well that's what the prescriptions do." But none of the skincare I have is prescriptions. She said "what moisturizers do you have?" I said only a night cream. She said that's good enough. Oh my god. She has no idea what my skincare guide is and she's trying to tell me that my flaking skin on my face is fine!? I'm so disappointed in how I've been treated by her and the front desk guy who really doesn't know what's going on and always seems like he's doing too much. While I was writing this I received a call that my prescription is ready from CVS. Look who is correct! Sadly, I will probably have to interact with this nurse again. I am a pretty quick, young, reasonable person, but the majority of customers out there who are unreasonable have to be WAY more upset with her treatment of patients than I am. Beware if you need tender loving care from a Dr.'s staff.

I'm well aware of how my insurance policy works, and there are reasons for my questions that is obviously beyond the knowledge or understanding of the person employed to answer them. The customer service is awful, and by the way we can hear everting that is said about us and other clients in the rooms with the door shut. I would suggest not talking about your patients while they are in the exam rooms or otherwise. Neither myself, my husband, my mother in law, sister in law or auntie continue be patients of DR Shah.
