I have contemplated leaving the practice due to this reason for the last few years, but didnt want to bother finding another good doctor. Today I called to schedule a follow up and they informed me that they had terminated me from the practice. I inquired as to why this occured in disbelief. They informed me that it was because I had a balance from my last visit (which was 2-3 months ago) for $50. I never even received a phone call from them. WOW! This doctors office is located right in front of Good Shepard Hospital in Barrington, IL. The waiting room here is even nice. They have a bunch of comfortable leather chairs to relax in while you wait & the office staff is very kind & friendly & will help you with your insurance & paperwork if need be. When you go into the room to see the doctor you can see a slew of awards & degrees that doctor Farah has earned over the years. It puts into perspective just how accredited & knowledgeable that doctor Farah is. Overall this is a five star practice all around. The staff were communicative and friendly, letting me know when he was ready and sharing updates along the way when he took extra time to come out of the twilight sleep. The office is a bit hard to find, tucked back in an office park where all of the buildings look the same and we found the patient pick up parking a lot easier than the drop off parking! The area for pick up can be a bit tight, so be mindful that you aren't blocking anyone's parking spot while you're waiting for your patient. The waiting room area seemed a bit tired and ready for a refresh, but otherwise it was a positive experience for me--which is probably easier to say since they weren't sticking anything inside me! Pro tip: Head down the street to Pepper Park Coffee while you wait!

The walker was gone the next day and the cane a few days later. Throughout, what "pain" I've experienced is no more than a few physical therapy induced muscle aches as my body relearns how to move. Hip replacement techniques have advanced greatly in recent years. Dr. Palmer and The Hip and Knee Center are among the pioneers and leaders in the evolution of one very significant improvement called the "anterior approach". My research leading up to surgery indicated that this method offered so many benefits that it was really the only way to go.
