The head of parks was here with the mayor a couple of months ago. She promised the city would provide poop bags. We all hope she keeps her word. The people and dogs are all there for fun. She has so much fun with other dogs and it's always been a good experience for us! The park is clean and bags are provided for poo pickup. Everyone is always really great about picking up after their doggo. You can count on at least one dog fight on the big dog side if you stay more than an hour or two, other than that, the big dog side looks pleasant as well. My dog has never picked up any ticks, fleas, or illnesses that I know of from here. She stays up on her vaccines and prevention meds too, so I'm sure that helps. There are water pumps, bowls, and shade too. Plenty of places for dog parents to sit while the fur baby plays. Will continue to go to this park.

We came early evening the first time and I got a matcha latte. I got the chai latte the second time. The server told me the matcha (that I got iced) wasn't as sweet & I'm glad he told me that because I ended up getting some syrup added. The one that stood out to me was the spiced cinnamon honey, they have a Mexican chili that I want to try too. The chai had the same thing going on, got it iced & added caramel syrup to it. The server said they had a new kind of chai so it made me curious on how it was originally (they've been open close to a year by now). Outside of coffee & tea, they had sodas to choose from, craft or dirty (with cream added). I don't drink pop anymore & their combinations made me want to break that habit, just once. I just might. We dog watched the first visit, there were 2-3 dogs when we first got there & then a TON of dogs came and it got more entertaining as the dogs were running around playing wild & free. I was in & out the second visit so I didn't stay to watch dogs, I see them most of the when I'm getting my steps in.

It's the perfect place to bring a book, find your spot, and just relax for a while. Whether you're looking to unwind, enjoy nature, or have a quiet moment to yourself...this park is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Perfect for getting in your steps too! I like to go early morning before it gets too hot or busy. Starting in May they have free canoe rentals!! They also have very good food. Love their fresh fruit cups which they prepare every morning daily, their sandwiches are fresh and very good! I've also had their ice cream and it's delicious. When you first walk into the main building, you can check out chess pieces and other games. Some of the tables have the chessboard design printed on them. Perfect for getting your chess game on. Every Wednesday and Sunday, you can bring your dog. Over at the boathouse on the bottom floor they have a little museum called "Drawers of curiosity." Hard to believe The Gathering Place doesn't charge an entrance fee!! It's just simply amazing!
