I brought my little dog to Carrington for 2 immunization updates (that was all we made the appointment for). And even though I stated this much when we arrived for care - we were placed in a examining room and we were met by one of the administration staff. This lady was prepared with a pen and noting board - asking me what issues I was dealing with and that they could attend to while we were there. I was asked about dental, diet and general overall health and were there any issues that the vet should be concerned about. I said that we were there for 2 shots and that this was all that was needed. She was at the point of explaining a veterinarian diet the I stopped her and said 'no more' - only shots please. Enter the Vet... who asked if there were other issues and that as well as the 2 updates my dog needed - that I should give my dog a parvovirus additional shot even though he is not around other dogs, 'you never no' - my dog is 4 years old. The Vet then proceeded to physically check my dog for other issues. I wound up paying close to $300.00 for the THREE shots plus a physical exam.... Whenever I had brought my dog in the past, this office was bursting with energy and usually the front office held 2 - 3 patients waiting for their turn. When I arrived to our appointment there was one lady being shown vet food for her pet ( being sold on it by staff); plus; there wasn't any other animal in for appointment (2:00 pm). If any other patient was being 'handled' the way I was (and by the way I did point out that my dog had an issue but was distracted and therefore left without an answer). I would think that the reason behind a 'empty' practice is because of the above - when did money become more important to Vet Care?? I am so sorry that Dr. Riley is retired - all of my pets absolutely loved this very caring human and will miss him very much. However, sad to say that we won't be going back to this practice unless there isn't any other veterinarian service available to us.

That's how amazing these people are. They listen, they care, and they don't steal my money. I've wasted tens of thousands on diagnoses/procedures/meds in the US-- Carrington figured out the problem in 30 minutes and it cost me a total of $82. The problem was too many meds by the way. The vet they have been going to was unable to help the cat until March 10 and kitty was suffering. Burtch Animal Hospital squeezed her in, did an examination and was able treat kitty to some pain meds and get her in next week for the dental. Wow! When i went to pick him up the charged me $115.00..!!! I told the girl I was quoted $80 and she said they had to cut more than what maybe was told to me. If that was the case they should have called me first. I would have been "OK" with maybe $10 more but really...another $35.00 ...RIDICULOUS.... POOR Customer Service.

So, an hour out of my day later, in with the vet, I ask, "what vaccines"? Am told, um, no vaccines, here for an annual check up ... I suppose I could do Kennel Cough". When told that I only want the vaccine, dog is fine, vet harumphs and lumbers out of the exam room. I ask the receptionist on exit to take us out of the system, she gets a manager, who then proceeds to tell me "its the law that we do an exam every year".... I ask her to show me some sort of standard of practice from her "college" or other, tune changes to "its our policy". Either way, this team is clearly only in it for the $. Also - of all the clinics Ive ever taken dogs to, this is the dirtiest and most run down. Gave them 1 star because the jokes on the billboard out front make my kids laugh.

Unfortunately, the tumor was bigger than expected and the excised area was large and in an area of high movement. When the wound didn't want to fully heal, Dr. Veenis performed a COMPLIMENTARY skin graft involving 7 feet of sutures and a meter of staples. Within two weeks, our baby was as good as new. We are grateful to have wonderful veterinarians such as Dr. van Nobelen and Dr. Veenis that are willing to go above and beyond for our family.
