This FLORIST is fantastic. They were so affordable so flexible and they really really worked with me. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in South Lake Tahoe and I wanted to have an arrangement delivered to our hotel. I emailed/called 5-6 florists in town with essentially no response a few days prior. I finally reached Rose Petals (I hadn't looked in Stateline initially), and am so glad I did. Shirley McGinty is an extraordinarily gifted florist. I called mid-morning, asking for a special birthday bouquet that would amaze my life partner. Shirley came through. The flowers that were delivered to my hotel room 90 minutes later were the most beautiful floral display either of us had ever seen. Gorgeous cream-colored roses, tinged in red; lilies that filled the room with a lovely floral fragrance; color-coordinated snapdragons; and babies breath & other small flowers that cascaded down the front of a beautiful crystal vase tied with a pink ribbon bow. The flowers were stunning! That night, my partner was delighted when a small light came on at the bottom of the vase, illuminating the flowers. No, the worst part was the fact that Shirley REFUSED to provide a TYPICAL floral proposal prior to having me SIGN A CONTRACT TO BOOK Rose Petals for event florals. Why would anyone sign a contract prior to knowing what they will receive in turn? In all my years, I've never experienced such unprofessionalism. She also has a complete disregard for budgets. I reached out to Rose Petal Florist (ROF) and was told they had availability to do the flowers for my wedding. I emailed a list of flowers I liked, noted I didn't want traditional roses. I also emailed colors and a few sample pictures. RPF was in touch within a few days and advised me all the flowers I listed in my email were not fall flowers, my color scheme wouldn't work (teal, orange, accent colors cream and sage) and she suggested other flowers and colors. I really didn't want to change colors but I thought it was best to take the advice of the professional. Throughout the entire process I spoke with RPF several times and each time I mentioned I didn't want any traditional looking roses. I requested garden roses and was told those were too expensive. Long story short I gave the florist creative freedom because everything I originally wanted I was told no and only asked that my order didn't have roses. Day of wedding I picked my bouquet, grooms boutonnière and my hair piece. The hair piece and boutonnière were basically 100% small roses and my bridal bouquet was about 70% roses. Yes, my flowers were pretty but they didn't represent what I wanted. I was crushed, but what can you do when you have no time to wait around for your flowers to be re done. Overall my experience between the emails, phone calls and the final product wasn't great. RPF has been in business for many years and has a lot of great reviews and I honestly think they do a good job, they just totally missed the point for my flowers. The night before my wedding she sent me a picture of my order and I should have said something then but I didn't want to overreact (bridezilla) and decided to sleep in it and hoped it looked better in person. The day of the wedding I ended up going to the grocery store to see if I could find alternate flowers for my bouquet but couldn't find anything so I was stuck with my order. read more

Shirley and her husband helped me out and I requested a bridal bouquet with a multicolor wildflower looks and two sprays of flowers to decorate my wedding arch. They are super friendly and professional, and very experienced. Shirley sent me some photos of what she had put together on Saturday, and when It wasn't exactly what I envisioned, she went above and beyond to go get more flowers that were what I wanted and redid the bouquet and I LOVED it. She was very easy to communicate with, when I said what I liked and didn't like she was so easy to work with and just changed it very easily and quickly. When i was planning my wedding, i knew i didn't have to look any further than just down the Kingsbury grade. My consultation with Raven went fantastic. She helped me pick out the most amazing type of flower (as I'm not super girly). She even offered to bring my cake, when i mentioned i was working with this businesses neighbor. Shirley was so light hearted and happy to pin on boutineers on the women, and hunt down the men to make sure they were looking "pin up" good. Shirley is seriously the best! I showed her a couple of Instagram photos and she made them even better in real life! My colors were blush, ivory, soft pinks and she nailed it. The arch was very romantic, I requested the bottom of the chiffon to be left loose because I wanted the flowey look. The flowers in the centerpieces flowed out of the lanterns and the LED/fairy lights added the perfect amount of light after the sun set. Everything was so much more beautiful than I imagined. She was super easy to work with, great with communication even though she is swamped, and she worked with our our budget. She has tiered options and it made it so easy to to pick and choose what I wanted to spend more money on and what I wanted to skimp on. I do not live in Tahoe and was planning my wedding from another state without a wedding coordinator. She gave me her recommendations and they were all great. To top it off, she came by with mints and well wishes right before my ceremony. She was so on top of everything!
