Very dishonest. company. Trying to take advantage of a college student.
After chasing this company for two months trying to have my college students security deposit returned, They are reufsing to return the proper amount. They first came up with excuses such as: waiting for checks from the bank, employee's being out sick, etc. They then sent a check inthe amount of approx. $200 when it should have been approximately $800.
The rent was paid in full every month on time. Tthey are refusing to return the full security deposit to my college student son. He moved out on the day it stated in the lease. However they are withholding for a fiull month's rent when the last month's rent paid was that which was invoiced and compliant with the lease. They are charging him for all preparation work for the next tenants (i.e scraping staining floors, painting the whole apartment, Labor and materials, etc.) This is the type of upkeep an owner is responsible for prior to leasing to a new tenant. The floors were fine and there was absolutely no damage to the aprtment. Again, they are not compliant with the lease. We are honest people and we do agree with a charge for garbage removal as some of the roomates did leave garbage behind). This is clearly a case of dishonesty and taking advantage of a college student. We gave the company every opportunity to refund the security deposit less the amount of the garbage removal (split 5 ways as there were 5 tenants with 5 leases). We are contacting the better business bureau and small claims court. read more
