I was so tense and uncomfortable. I was debating getting up and leaving but my inability to speak up for myself kicked in and I just kept hoping she would move on to the next portion. The amount she massage my butt and around that area was NOT okay. When she massaged other areas, she basically just ran her hands over my legs - there was no kneading or real massage technique of any sort. It was as if her friend called her and said she was short staffed and needed her to help fill in, without any prior massage experience EVER. There was an occasional squeeze of my legs but never any real massage. The actual massage was about 45 minutes even though it was supposed to be 60 minutes but I was completely fine with that because all I wanted to do was leave as fast as I could. I received a 90-minute massage for $100.00 - very reasonable. My massage therapist was Hannah, who had amongst the strongest hands I've experienced - great for knots and tight areas. The opening for my face was very comfortable, but not adjustable. They have parallel rails in the ceiling, which allows the masseuse to hold them, straddle you while you are face-down, and very effectively use their elbows and knees. I had had this once before and like it - although the person sitting on you may be off-putting for some. She spent a very long portion of the 90 minutes on my neck, shoulders and back. Which was great. She didn't use as much oil/lotion as I am used to, so some of it felt a bit rough, but I had asked for deep pressure and was ok with it. She also remained relatively silent during the massage, which I prefer. All-in-all, it was a very good massage. My only minor issue was I would have preferred for oil/lotion for less friction. However, I was very off-put at check out, when I handed back my signed credit card receipt with a $20.00 (20%) tip. The manager looked disapprovingly at it and said that Hannah had worked very hard because I had very tight muscles, and said she deserved a higher tip.
