When the Rose Bowl Half Marathon comes around, a large chunk of the participants probably trained here and for good reason. The loop is essentially the perimeter of the block which includes the stadium, parking lots, and golf course. Within this loop, there is plenty of separation between vehicle traffic and lanes wide enough for other joggers and amblers. That said, crossing the street to the loop can get hectic on Seco, so be cautious. Plenty of free parking during non-event days. Early birds get some sweet, crisp air and minimize car exhaust exposure as the day continues. At around 7:30am on a Saturday there were several run clubs and high school track clubs as well as many folks with their dogs and strollers. Go clockwise for one loop to see one group, then go counter and see the rest!

I've been walking this track for years. It's an easy 3.1 mile walk. It forces you to not stop and continue going. It helps me reach my step goals of over 10k a day in a single walk. You get to see people golfing. Lots of restroom stops along the way. However on the weekends the track does sometimes close due to events.

I've been in love with the rose bowl track since moving here 11 years ago. I usually go around 11am . It's a fast 3.5 miles. Roughly around a hour around if just walking. There's always a lot of people around so I always feel safe. Evenings are a tad more packed. Which is great so you don't feel alone on the dark corners.Pasadena PD is always circling as well. I always park in lot H lots of parking and easy to get in and out of! Go get your 5k !

This spot is my running ground. I love coming here for my weekend runs. I love it here because the area is so nice with fresh air. 1 loop is 3 miles. It is a good loop if you want to train for a small run or long run. You can also engage in other fun activities here, such as walking, ( pet friendly), biking. There's a huge grass area where you can have a small picnic with your friends and family, or bring your fur babies to play. You will find PLENTY of free parking space. Either the lot or on the side of the track. There are events going on at times, such as the Rosw Bowl Flea Market, car shows. It will get packed. Other than that, great place for outdoor activieities!

Such a great place! The area around the Rose Bowl is frequented by joggers, bikers and people working out and walking their pets! There's about 1 million places to park, it's super clean and I believe if you walk the loop it's about a mile. It's real laid back with soccer(?) summer camps, movies being filmed, people flying drones, or just laying out on the grass. There's a workout station in the center of the loop, lots of restrooms and a few water fountains as well! There's a larger loop that people jog or bike around and a pretty big golf course which has a nice clubhouse you can eat at!

What a great spot to get some steps in!!! This was my first time here, but it will certainly not be my last! I arrived around 9:30am on a Sunday there were lots of people around, but it didn't feel too crowded at all. There is a TON of easy, free parking here which is so amazing. The loop itself is about 3 miles and basically flat. It's by a road but it feels very safe and there is a nice area marked for those walking/jogging. The loop goes around the rose bowl as well as the adjacent golf course. My walk here went by super quickly since it was so scenic and beautiful and I ended up doing 2 loops! There are bathrooms available along the way, and places to fill up your water bottle. I would just beware of the golf carts when you get to the crossings. A wonderful spot for a weekend stroll!!!

Join the walkers, runners, and cyclists at the Rose Bowl Loop Track and do some physical activity! The Rose Bowl Loop has certainly become a regular part of our long-run days when training for half/full marathons. 4 stars!!!! Circling the entire loop is slightly more than 3 miles, and the elevation gradient is pretty comfortable. It goes all around the Rose Bowl but also the adjacent Brookside Golf Course. On our long-run days, we reach the loop after 8 miles, and we're so glad there are now new water fountains installed in the lawn area in front of the Rose Bowl. Thanks to the water fountains, we get a little break from the electrolyte drinks we are carrying. The new water fountains even feature a drinking area for dogs as well as a space to fill up water bottles. There's also restrooms available, just in case there's a need during the run! The Rose Bowl Loop Track also happens to be the last couple miles of the Pasadena Half Marathon, soon to take place in its third year in January, 2019. Running on the loop during our long-run days certainly brings back memories of the Pasadena Half, a pretty good half marathon to check out if you're looking for one! There's always walkers, runners, and cyclists so the Rose Bowl Loop feels pretty safe. Also, the path for the track is clearly marked so there's no need to worry about vehicle traffic. If you are driving to the loop, there's always free and plentiful parking available as well.

A quick stop in front of the Rose Bowl to see her BTS band engraved in the concrete.

This is a hot spot for bikers, runners, and walkers. It's about a 3 mile trek around the Rose Bowl loop and give you great scenery along the way. Tranquil environment nestled in Pasadena. This is such a fun treats to get away and walk. My family and I have a great time going and have for years.

This is one of my favorite places to go for a run. It's a 3 mile loop around the rose bowl with no lights and cars to dodge. Plenty of runners, walkers, parents with strollers, owners walking dogs, you name it. Lane is wide enough for all to enjoy. Just be on the lookout for events at the rose bowl which could make parking difficult. Otherwise parking is easy with plenty of street parking.

Grassy lawn with the Rose Bowl in the background.

Suitable for a nice walk, run or bike, the loop is easy, with plentiful parking. We took our dog for a walk and ended up hanging on the large Rose Bowl grassy lawn afterwards. Easiest 3+ miles that went by quickly. Nice to get out for some fresh air and exercise. For the most part, people were wearing masks and respecting social distancing.

Make sure you are going COUNTER CLOCKWISE to reduce chances of spreading the virus.

And they would be right- who am I to judge the green that someone holds precious whether it be jade from feudal China or a patch of blades that are bed for the soul to rest. So I am left with one task: to express the serene beauty of this place that is also engaging in a quiet way, with almost ethereal words to truly defend and display that this, in all its glory, is a green oasis that wins by a short shot. The grounds are not huge, it is small but comes close to being medium. But what I loved is that its green branches and brown barks and twigs were immersive. I had entered a green swirl that moved all around me in stillness of movement but blurs of garden spirits. The place was like an outside museum that honors mother earth and her mantra of tender care that explains how flowers grow best. One of the most engaging experiences was their wishing tree. It was about two to four big trees with hanging wishes written by everyday folk. As I walked the steps to the trees, as I passed between them my skin could feel the words of hope hanging from branches. It was like the cards spoke in lovely whispers that reminded me that days of beauty are created when people do not forget to see that joyous petals that are in the wind and all around in the everyday. And as one note reminded us, joy is not ready made, to find it takes action. Reading the notes was a way in which I elected joy, as an act of resistance toward anger and disapointment. There was also this gazebo with a statue of a greek goddess. These are guesses of mine, I did not find some type of placards to confirm my notions. She was framed in the gazebo by a quasi-window. I entered the small gazebo and sat in the only green bench maybe big enough for two.I did not understand why she was giving me her back, I wanted to face her. But then I realized that Demeter or Gaia (maybe?) was not facing me because she was looking at her creation, like any person would when they have a garden to admire. From that seat I saw a man doing Tai-Chi and being filmed by his partner in all red. I sat and viewed him quietly and ask that whatever he was calling forth with his movements also entered my own person. From this seat, I also saw a pregnant woman taking pictures. She was wearing a white dress with a tasteful floral pops around. At times, she laughed with a wide smile, at times she held the bundle with her hands. It was seeing a place of growth, welcome a being with life about to begin. Her partner joined and they were directed into stances that made sense--- like the one where they look longingly at each other while he held her, and she held the coming boy. I could see their happiness, I could see their true connection, and I knew that the baby was being born into comfort and love. It was great reminder that sometimes life blooms with ease into joy. I also saw a lizard run and move its neck, both in a funny way. I saw a sole butterfly flutter. I saw folks sitting, relaxing, eating, all in with a calm demeanor. So I would like to think that this place is a green oasis or at least a place where rest is each to come by.

DEFINITELY a strenuous hike and would highly recommend hiking poles, sunscreen, water, and snacks! The view is incredible, especially with tons of fresh snow everywhere. Hiked this early March 2023 and the Castle Canyon trail leading off from Echo Mountain (a decent hike in its own right) is pretty challenging, if not a bit brutal in some areas: slippery snow, downed trees and bushes blocking the path, and a heavy incline. Again, highly recommend poles. Once at Inspiration Point the view is phenomenal. The Pacific Ocean, Palos Verdes, Catalina Island, and even Anaheim and Irvine are all visible from the top, and downtown LA too of course. Lots of picnic benches and photo-op-worthy view finders for major Southern California sites. Gorgeous San Gabriel mountains in the background. The Sam Merrill trail leading down the backside of the mountain (and then curving back around to the south/west) is much more tame (but still a bit precarious with 2+ feet of snow) and very sun-exposed all the way back to Echo Mountain. All in all probably one of the more butt-kicking Los Angeles hike. Takes about 4-5hrs round trip depending on your pace.

The hike from Cobb Estate to Echo Mountain was a breeze for us, but the hike from there to Inspiration was a whole other story. I recommend wearing long pants as the second half of the hiking path isn't as clear and pretty narrow on some parts. We took our time and treaded lightly but still got some minor scratches on our legs from all of the branches and leaves. My husband started getting irritated from walking into all of the spider webs lol. Not sure if the actual hike was 2 miles from Echo Mountain because it felt so much longer than that. We started getting really tired near the end from all the incline. We almost gave up until my husband saw the view of Inspiration Point. Once we got there, the views made it all worth it! Would we do it again? Maaaaaybe lol.
